About Us

GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation bringing together our community and allies to support LGBTQI activism worldwide.

Across the world, courageous activists are working tirelessly to protect LGBTQI communities and advance equality. But they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South. LGBTQI groups receive a tiny fraction of international development aid.

GiveOut exists to bridge this gap. We provide a platform for individuals, businesses and others to give tax efficiently in one place, ensuring sustained funding for LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. By pooling donations, we provide grants to pioneering organisations, empowering them to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.

Our grant-making process follows a rigorous framework of consultation, due diligence, and vetting. It is overseen by our Grant-Making Advisory Panel, composed of LGBTQI activists from the Global South, and governed by our Board of Trustees.

In just seven years, we have provided over £3 million in new funding, supporting nearly 60 LGBTQI organisations globally. Our grant partners report back on their achievements, and we share their impact with our supporters, demonstrating the tangible difference their generosity makes.

About the Role

Grant-making is central to GiveOut’s mission of growing giving to support LGBTQI human rights activism globally. As Senior Grant-Making Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our grant-making programme, ensuring we effectively channel resources to LGBTQI activist organisations worldwide.

Bringing a passion for and knowledge of international LGBTQI human rights, you will have the opportunity to deepen your skills in grant-making, gain insights into LGBTQI human rights movements worldwide, and build meaningful relationships with LGBTQI activists and organisations across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sector Expertise and Insights

  • Stay informed about developments in the LGBTQI movement and global LGBTQI rights.

  • Undertake occasional international travel to strengthen relationships and deepen understanding of partner activities.

• Donor and Grant Partner Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with grant partners through regular communication and engagement.

  • Capture and share evidence and success stories from grant partners to engage and inspire GiveOut’s supporters.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to feed grant-making insights into impact reports and donor communications.

  • Represent GiveOut’s grant-making programme externally at events, including occasional evening engagements.

  • Coordinate logistics for grant partner engagements, including developing itineraries, supporting travel arrangements, and ensuring smooth communication with donors and other stakeholders.

  • Help shape the design and execution of GiveOut’s grant-making programme 

  • Ensure GiveOut’s Grant-Making Policy and guidance remain up to date with best practices in grant-making and is responsive to the needs of the global LGBTQI movement.

  • Work with the Grant-Making Advisory Panel (GMAP) to identify and assess new grant partners, and coordinate annual GMAP meetings.

• Grant Portfolio Development and Management

  • Develop an annual portfolio of grants, balancing renewals and new partnerships, and collaborate with the Executive Director to present to the Board for approval.

  • Conduct due diligence on grant partners, draft grant agreements, and manage payment processes.

  • Monitor and evaluate partnerships, coordinating narrative and financial reporting to track progress and impact.

  • Maintain and update the grant partner database to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.

As Philanthropy Officer, you will be an organised and proactive fundraiser, adept at multi-tasking and working across a variety of projects to successfully support senior leaders. You will be keen to learn from senior fundraisers and implement exciting new approaches for the Sutton Trust, and bring strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

The philanthropy income team is a team of two, working closely with the Director of Development to secure and steward individual donors. As Philanthropy Officer, you will support both the Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development in their work with individual donors, including undertaking prospect research, writing briefings and compelling reports, coordinating meetings and donor visits, and maintaining accurate donor records.

The role sits in the Philanthropy team of the Development Department and is managed by the Head of Philanthropy. You will work closely with colleagues across both the Development Department and the wider organisation.

Main duties

New Business

• Undertake prospect research across the spectrum of philanthropic income in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy - including identification, due diligence, qualification, and creating briefings and outreach plans
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to identify and cultivate a prospect pool of potential donors, looking at lapsed supporters, current low-level donors, stakeholder network mapping through the Board and Trustees, as well as philanthropists with an active interest in education/social mobility
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and other colleagues to implement, promote, and maintain a low-level online giving campaign, including transition of our online giving capabilities to the Trust's website, and automated stewardship activation
• Support the Head of Philanthropy to lead the Sutton Trust's approach to alumni fundraising - working collaboratively with the Alumni team in the Programmes directorate to develop and deliver a compelling alumni fundraising campaign
• Support the Head of Philanthropy to devise and implement a compelling legacy campaign, driving sustainable future philanthropic income
• Work with colleagues across the Development team to identify, qualify, cultivate and secure prospects, using resources effectively where there are links between corporates, individuals, and trusts & foundations

Stewardship and Cultivation

• Manage the Trust's online fundraising platforms, such as JustGiving and CAF, to enable smooth processes and a high-quality experience for donors, ensuring new and existing donors are appropriately thanked and have inclination to support in the future
• Be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of mid-level donors, providing excellent relationship management from cultivation to stewardship
• Be responsible for elements of the planning and delivery of meaningful engagement events for supporters of the Trust, supported by and working with the Head of Philanthropy and relevant colleagues
• Support the Director of Development and Head of Philanthropy to provide high-quality stewardship and management of the Development Board and Fellows
• Support the Head of Philanthropy to develop and deliver appropriate and high-quality stewardship journeys for segmented philanthropic giving, including producing compelling collateral, reporting, and communications that increase affinity and loyalty

• Respond to queries from prospective and current donors in a warm, professional and timely manner, delivering high-quality stewardship and upholding the reputation of the Trust
• Support the Director of Development and Heads in the Development team to manage logistics of their roles - including support for booking meetings and travel, submitting expenses, and creating briefings
• Act as an ambassador for the Trust with external audiences, delivering presentations and providing expertise as required
• Work with colleagues to deliver impactful events to cultivate prospects and steward partners, with a focus on experience for individual supporters and prospects
• Work with colleagues across Development and Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, income tracking, and reporting for philanthropic income

Person Specification

Skills and experience:

• Experience building and managing relationships with individuals, ideally in a philanthropy team or other fundraising capacity, or in sales or other relevant professional capacity.

Terms of Appointment

• Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.
• Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. This role is likely to also be required to attend events / meetings outside of normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends, in line with organisational policies.

About the role

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.

Job Purpose

The aim of this role is to enhance community relations, ensuring that residents are heard, supported and engaged in important change in South Kilburn.  South Kilburn is home to more than 7,500 people, many of which have been impacted by long term regeneration. Involving residents in shaping their future is central to our purpose, whether by ensuring local assets and amenities work for them, or by influencing service delivery. This makes the Community Engagement Coordinator an exciting and important role within the team.

Main Tasks:

Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Coordination

· Recruit and maintain a team of twenty active volunteers from the local community to assist in community building initiatives.

· Develop and deliver a volunteer programme to engage the South Kilburn community which will likely include, but not limited to:

o Community research and consultation

o Promoting community cohesion through events

o Mobilising residents through participation in action groups, community forums and resident panels.

· Train volunteers in peer-engagement and consultation practice,

· Induct and supervise skilled volunteers, as necessary.

Community Cohesion and Wellbeing

· Encourage and inspire volunteers to work as a team, take ownership of each activity, and to celebrate collective successes,

· Involve volunteers in planning and delivering community projects and events.

Resident Voice

· Community Conversations: Conduct outreach in the community with trained volunteers, including door-to-door surveys, pop-up stalls and focus groups.  

· Collect and systematically analyse information gathered through outreach and community consultation.

Widening Participation

· Increase rates of community participation, belonging and pride across all segments of the community in South Kilburn.

· Use creative methods to increase engagement based on needs identified by all sections of our diverse community.

· Contribute to a new system of representative community governance, enabling the resident body to speak with one voice.

· Document and build a narrative of the work we do within the community, including findings from surveys, resident spotlights, opportunities, and initiatives.

Empowerment and Progression

· Seek opportunities for the community, within the community, working to engage interested residents and community groups to participate in and lead on initiatives.

· encouraging residents to get involved in the resident led partnership group, support with preparing and informing them of the process.

Partnerships and Information Sharing

· Seeking local opportunities; maintaining awareness of events and activities in around South Kilburn, working with volunteers to disseminate accurate information and signposting,

Rainbow Migration is the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system and has been campaigning for their rights since 1993. We are recruiting a Senior Casework and Service Coordinator to assist the Support Services Manager, provide guidance and advice to colleagues, and manage incoming queries from service users. This role is ideally suited to an experienced caseworker looking to take the next step in their career.

Rainbow Migration has grown in recent years from a small charity generating £200k income in 2019 to £1M in 2024. The Senior Casework and Service Coordinator is a new role that will take on some of the responsibilities of the Support Services Manager, freeing the manager up to work on service development and strategic matters.

Role overview

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Working part-time (minimum 28 hours) will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £36,994 with potential annual step increases up to £41,315 (pro rata if working part time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, we consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.

Location: Rainbow Migration’s wheelchair accessible offices are based between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. This role will have an office-based contract but the postholder can choose to work from home for part of the week in agreement with their line manager as per our hybrid working policy. You must be available to work from our offices in London when necessary. The successful candidate would also be welcome to work from the office full-time if that is their preference. Would you like to make a positive difference to the lives of survivors of torture? Do you have experience of coordinating clinical services delivery to marginalised groups in a community setting?​

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to work with an innovative and friendly multidisciplinary team at our London Centre.​

You will line manage and supervise highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence. You will report to the Adult Team Manager, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our four-year strategy and work together to increase the number of clients who can access our services. It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities.

About the role

This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:

• To work with the Adult Team Manager and Heads of Clinical Services to implement FFT’s strategic goals. It will involve providing line management to paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists. This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision to clinicians in our other regional centres (North West England and Scotland).
• To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.
• Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit-based services.
• To formulate and negotiate psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients and to provide psychological treatment, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service in line with the new clinical model “Pathways” (drawing on a range of evidence-based models for the presenting problems of the clients).
• Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others.​

About you

This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.

To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

The progression up the salary range is reviewed on an annual basis and subject to affordability. For this role, the salary range is £54,520 - £63,243 per annum.

We are seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer who will help sustain and grow the organisation’s income. This involves managing timelines for applications and reports, writing high-quality proposals and impact reports (often in collaboration with colleagues in policy, science, communications, and finance), and researching new funding opportunities. 

The role also includes maintaining strong relationships with existing funders by providing timely updates outside of formal reporting, and leading on the drafting of the organisation’s annual report to clearly communicate achievements and impact.

CHEM Trust’s overarching aim is to prevent synthetic chemicals from causing long-term damage to wildlife and people by ensuring that chemicals which cause such harm are substituted with safer alternatives.

Currently, we are primarily funded by trusts and foundations and are very successful, raising significant funds to facilitate the sustained growth of the organisation and our reserves.  We have an ethical funding policy, and it is imperative that we maintain our independence and science-based approach.

Key Duties

• Fundraising activity – preparing compelling and bespoke proposals tailored to donor requirements, ensuring effective stewardship of charitable trust and foundation major gifts within CHEM Trust’s portfolio by building relationships and providing on-time reports and updates.
• Working cross-organisationally, to ensure relevant information is obtained from CHEM Trust’ team members in a timely fashion to report to funders in advance of deadlines.
• Timeline management – keeping an accurate track of the necessary reporting and application deadlines and ensuring these are communicated in good time to relevant team members.
• Developing relationships and networking – including excellent donor stewardship to existing funders and using events, meetings, talks and inspirational writing to help charitable trusts learn about CHEM Trust’s work and understand the difference we are making.
• Recording and maintaining accurate funding data, ensuring records are kept and effectively managed and that CHEM Trust’s fundraising team operates within GDPR.
• Good team working - daily interaction with the fundraising team, wider CHEM Trust team, funding partners and others, plus possible interaction with trustees.
• Leading on the writing of the annual report, tailoring it to be a key document that prospective funders can use to get a succinct overview of CHEM Trust’s vision, goals, and achievements.
