The purpose of the Senior Direct Marketing Officer’s role is to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity.
Working closely with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, you will manage campaign activity, from briefing through to execution, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement within the programme, particularly with regards to retention and delivery of the supporter journey.
You will be responsible for multi-channel donor acquisition, retention, upgrade and cross-sell campaigns across digital channels, print, telephone and provide occasional support to our successful Face to Face programme. New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating our weekly rota, line managing the team, overseeing our Locums, Students and Volunteers programme, supporting with donations and day centre stock, and delivering staff training . New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. - Lead and manage Finance and Procurement, ensuring value for money, maximising financial efficiency through accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to inform decision making and projections related to the operational and financial functioning of Saint Paul’s.

- Preparation of financial information for grant funding and financial reporting for successful bids.
HR & Team
· Line Managing the Operations team including the Finance Manager, Operations Manager, LCL Manager, Receptionist and Bookings Manager and Facilities Manager.
· Ensure the overall smooth running of HR, ensuring we are using best practice and are up to date with knowledge at all times.
· Monitoring of Citrus HR to ensure all team are using the programme to its full ability.
· Governance of payroll, overtime and leave.
· Running annual appraisal processes and updating where needed.
· Meeting with wider team members as and when needed to ensure health of team.
· Being a first point of call for any HR issues that arise and advising on these.
· Overseeing and leading of recruitment processes.
Facilities Management
· Ensure the historic fabric of the church and associated buildings is maintained and developed in line with prescribed regulations and standards and where appropriate that the historical and heritage aspects of the buildings are appropriately profiled and made available to the community and general public.
· Manage all operations budgets and external contract relationships in line with forecast ensuring value for money and delivery is in line with agreed project scope/specifications and high-quality service.
· Proactively agree (and monitor) standards for buildings maintenance and adherence.
· Leading on our Carbon Net Zero journey.
· Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan reviewing to ensure risk management/mitigation.
Other
· Strategic management of the Saint Paul’s Centre and all business related to it, ensuring we meet our targets and ensuring good working relationships with clients to help secure repeat business from large clients.
· Oversight of the café, helping to improve our offerings and ensure management of the team and operational effectiveness.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
You will be flexible and able to work dynamically to respond to needs as they arise, whilst keeping a strategic eye on upcoming opportunities and challenges. You will bring strength to the day-to-day running of St Paul’s, as well as be planning for the short-term and long-term future health of the team and church.
· 5+ years experience in operations management, with a proven track record of line management.
· Strong finance capabilities and experience.
· Strong HR experience and understanding of the function.
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
· Leadership and management experience in a diverse team.
· Personal maturity, wisdom, and discretion.

Working Requirements
- Proof of right to work in the UK according to UK Legislation.
- Days of work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday with occasional evenings required
- Work hours: 9am – 6pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

About the role
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Finance is responsible for leading a team of 5 and overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the charity, supporting and developing its financial strategies. In collaboration with the Charity’s Executive Team, the role is responsible for safeguarding the short, medium and long-term financial health of the organisation. This includes all financial reporting requirements, treasury management (overseeing the organisation's cash and liquidity performance) and the management of the annual budget and financial planning processes. The Head of Finance is also responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a Management Information (MI) reporting suite which supports the Charity’s operations, commercial development activities and long-term strategies. Lastly, the Head of Finance is tasked with managing the development of the Finance department.
Areas of responsibility will include:
Financial Strategy and Policy
- Support the Charity’s Executive Team with ensuring the short, medium and long term financial health of the organisation
- Collaborate with the Charity’s SMT to prepare business cases and financial models to support new business activities and investment proposals
- Review and update the charities financial policies
- Cultivate a support structure across the organisation where the finance department acts as a trusted business partner for operations and management
Reporting
- Oversee all financial reporting processes for the Charity, ensuring that accurate, timely and relevant information is disseminated across the organisation
- Work with the SMT to identify areas to improve the reporting processes
Statutory Reporting, Audit & Risk
- Manage the Charity’s financial statutory compliance for both audit and regulatory matters and oversee the finance risk register
- Lead the year-end audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations and acting as a key point of contact for the auditors
- Prepare the financial disclosures sections of the Charity ‘s annual reports and the accompanying narrative to explain the financial performance of the year
- Support the Charity’s regulatory compliance responsibilities, particularly with the financial elements of ESFA funding guidelines. Prepare financial returns, financial health assessments and other submissions to ensure that ESFA requirements are fulfilled.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitory the Charity’s cash flow, manage the working capital controls and produce cashflow reports and forecasts
- Oversee the Charity’s cash flow management processes and report on cash flow performance against budget and forecast targets.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts which provide a consistently reliable understanding of the organisation’s cash flow position over the financial year.
Finance Department Development
- Design and implement learning and development frameworks for each member of the Finance department.
- Ensure that each member of the Finance department is sufficiently supported to fulfil their performance development goals.
About you
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Experience of audit and preparation of annual financial accounts under UK GAAP and understanding of Charity SORP
- Experience of leading and developing Finance teams
- Experience working within the Charity or Education sectors (experience working with ESFA funding is preferable)
- Experienced managing budget processes
- Experience of business partnering
