We are looking for a for a Volunteer Development Officer to be involved in supporting on and developing the volunteer peer champions for our gang prevention work as well as supporting aspects of the Befriending service to ensure that the organisation reaches and supports as many families as possible. You will provide and support the Team Leader on the coordination, training, recruitment and management of volunteers.as ensuring there is a continual bank of active volunteers,

You will also be responsible for supporting the delivery of volunteer training and providing one-to-one support and group supervision as appropriate. In addition, the role will include matching volunteers to families, keeping accurate records and completing reports

You will need to have experience of volunteer recruitment and training as well as experience of managing volunteers and have knowledge of the role of volunteers in community projects. You will also have the ability to use your own initiative and have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Level 3 qualification in health and social care, children and young people's workforce or other equivalent qualification is essential. Comprehensive knowledge of local agencies, networks and partnerships within the area and commitment to ensuring equal opportunities and diversity and the values, aims and objectives of Family Lives are also essential.

Our Merton Risk and Resilience Service is an integrated service, focused on mitigating risk, and promoting resilience, in children and young people (C&YP). Our service aims to reduce the harm to children and young people (aged 18 and under), within the Child Exploitation (CE) and Missing service area, and C&YP (aged 24 and under), within the substance misuse service area.

Job Description

The role of Young Person's Practitioner (Risk and Resilience) is an excellent opportunity to make a direct and valued difference to the lives of children and young people (C&YP), who are at significant risk of experiencing child exploitation, substance misuse, or going missing from home.

Providing tailored support and guidance to children, young people, and families, this role will actively contribute to achieving high standards of care, quality, and positive outcomes - supporting service users to fulfil their potential, through consistent and meaningful participation.

Main Duties:

• Providing tailored one-to-one support, guidance, and interventions.
• Assessing the needs of children and young people, determining appropriate support plans and pathways, and informing risk reduction plans - supporting access to additional or specialist services where necessary.
• Ensuring that referrals, support, care, and risk management are of a high quality, with ease of transition.
• Developing sustainable joint service work with referring agencies, local authorities, children’s social care, and children and families services (CFS).
• Ensuring timely and appropriate data recording – including tracking, outcome monitoring, KPI monitoring, and assisting with the production of feedback reports.
• Providing consultation, information, training, and presentations, to a wide range of stakeholders, from varied settings (we can help to build your skills in training provision if required).

About the Role

· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information

· Strong communication skills with empathy, professionalism and patience

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru & 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During tis time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales and the bordering counties in England, including; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, with the plan to continue to roll out support to the whole of England.

We work in partnership with professionals who refer int the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

The Children and Young People Coordinator will deliver our specialist support service for children and young people affected by sudden bereavement. You will be responsible for ensuring that our services are trauma-informed, age-appropriate, and responsive to the complex and individual needs of children and young people who have experienced profound loss.

The Children and Young People Coordinator will work closely with statutory colleagues in health, education, and social care to raise the profile of 2wish and deliver training and workshops to educators to equip them to support young people following a sudden death. The candidate will also develop resources for our website and collaborate with other charities supporting young people to provide a holistic and appropriate service to meet the need.

Main duties:

Service:

• To deliver the Children and Young People service including the delivery of casework support, and referrals into support pathways including therapeutic services, peer support services and other support agencies where appropriate.
• Ensure all services are child-focused, trauma-informed, inclusive, and responsive to need.
• Adhere to child protection and safeguarding practices and procedures in line with national guidelines.
• Utilise a multi-agency approach to supporting young people that priorities individual need and a holistic view to support.
• Build relationships with schools, mental health services, safeguarding boards and other agencies.
• Promote awareness of the charity’s work through training, presentations, workshops and collaboration oversee the delivery of training delivered to professional partners.
• Represent the charity and act as an ambassador for children and young people’s voices.
• To work closely with the Children and Young People Manager to ensure delivery and growth of services.
• Contribute to developing bereavement resources to support children and young people (and the professionals who work alongside them).
• Contribute to annual children and young people focused campaigns and events.

What we do for you:

Salary: Starting salary of £26,500 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

We are looking for a Digital Systems & Data Assistant who will support the development and maintenance of the hospice’s IT and digital infrastructure, alongside robust information governance practices. This role ensures the smooth and reliable operation of systems that underpin high-quality patient care and contribute to overall organisational effectiveness. By combining technical IT support, data management, and information governance administration, the post helps drive the secure, efficient, and innovative use of digital technologies across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have:

• IT-related degree or equivalent experience in IT and digital systems management, demonstrating a strong foundation in managing and supporting digital infrastructure.
• Proven experience in first-line IT support, demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to technical queries, support day-to-day IT operations, and proactively attempt to resolve second-line issues where appropriate before escalation.
• Familiarity with IT system maintenance, troubleshooting, and hardware/software management, including routine maintenance of platforms such as Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Azure

Familiarity with NHS systems and processes, including NHS Care Records Service Cards is desirable.

The role is available 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (Friday 4pm finish), on a salary of £25,294 - £26,598 per annum. The role is office based with occasional home working.

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime. Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester.As the post holder you will be responsible for delivering our front-line work to young people, parents and other adults (professionals). You will work in schools and in community settings across the North West of England to generate impact for young people using Khulisa’s trauma-informed approach. The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel regularly to various locations in in the North West of England as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role, to deliver aspects of the programme, and to engage with other stakeholders and colleagues.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Programme Delivery:

· Facilitate the delivery of sessions in our flagship Face It programme and modular workshops to young people, our Nurturing Connections programme for parents and carers, and our trauma training for professionals.

· Facilitate delivery to a high standard in all settings (schools, youth services, and community spaces), ensuring that you are always taking a trauma informed approach.

· Facilitate various youth participation workshops, co-delivering with young people as much as practicable.

· Respond to any questions, disclosures or safeguarding concerns raised during sessions and follow up where necessary with the relevant safeguarding teams or, where consent is secured, make onward referrals for additional support in specific cases.

· Contribute to the continuous development of all aspects of the programmes, sharing new ideas and using best practice.

· Support the onboarding and training of Associate Facilitators and volunteers as necessary.

· When required, support the onboarding and training of other permanent programme staff.

· Objectively review the successes and achievements of each delivery session facilitated against programme or activity objectives, identifying and implementing opportunities for making ongoing improvements.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide operational management support across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.  You will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison, and provide leadership and operational management support in debt and welfare benefits to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of the contracts.

We will also rely on you to set performance objectives with FWCs and monitor progress, monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance to ensure compliance with policy and procedures, and to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with local Wales Probation managers and staff as well as other external stakeholders.  Managing partnerships and ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff are also vital aspects of the role.

What we are looking for

• Experience of working in or managing services supporting challenging people, for example people who have complex needs and those who are reluctant to discuss their needs
• Experience of working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives and outcomes
• Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice
• Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation providers
• Wide range of money advice knowledge, budgeting, dealing with priority and non-priority debts, County Court/High Court options, insolvency options and a range of welfare benefits
• Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance in a team
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Residents typically stay between three to six months, during which time the focus is on creating pathways into safe, sustainable housing and renewed independence.

You’ll work closely with clients facing overlapping challenges including homelessness, poor physical and mental health, substance use, trauma and histories with the criminal justice system.
