The role is a key part of the Doctors of the World (DOTW) UK Policy and Advocacy team, contributing to the implementation of our three-year strategy and maximising the impact of our policy and advocacy function. The team focuses on influencing UK health and migration policy, improving access to NHS services for minoritised communities and populations and strengthening the right to health in the UK.

The post holder will play a critical role in ensuring DOTW UK’s advocacy and influencing work is informed by our service users’ experiences and seeks to bring about the changes they want to see. To this end, the role will lead work with DOTWs expert by experience group, liaising and coordinating different engagement activities, identifying co-production opportunities and supporting members of the group to meaningfully participate in the organisation’s advocacy work and drive change.

Those with lived experience of migration, the asylum system, homelessness, or exclusion from health services are encouraged to apply.

About the role

The Parkinson’s UK Tech Guide connects people with Parkinson’s to devices and apps that could improve their quality of life, with the information and tools for people to choose the right solutions for them. 

As part of a small team and reporting to the Catalogue and Community Lead, you will support them in creating clear and comprehensive product reviews. You will also moderate contributions from our community of users and help create and maintain effective relationships inside and outside the charity. This means working with people inside Parkinson’s UK and from our community, as well as with the companies who make and sell the tech in our catalogue.

What you’ll do:

• Help the Catalogue and Community Lead to manage the catalogue of devices and apps, including compiling and editing listing pages.
• Help the Catalogue and Community Lead to write and edit comprehensive product reviews.
• Help manage relationships with end users of the Tech Guide – people with Parkinson’s, their family and carers, and healthcare professionals – ensuring all stakeholders have the best possible experience.
• Provide user support, manage user-generated content, and enforce our code of conduct.
• Gain a deep understanding of the Parkinson’s community and of the organisations who supply and use tech to help them.
• Contribute your ideas and feedback to the development and growth of the Tech Guide itself.

A little bit about the role 

The trusts fundraiser role sits in the fundraising team within the external relations division. The fundraising team is responsible for raising between £1m and £1.5m in fundraised income annually. Frontline’s philanthropic income complements the significant contract income the charity receives from central and local government and enables the charity to carry out its broader mission to create social change for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children.

Since we were founded in 2013, Frontline has leveraged its success to build committed, high impact partnerships with a number of prestigious supporters including trusts and foundations, corporates and high net worth individuals. Our new fundraising strategy focuses on continuing to grow our network of supporters by maintaining excellent relationships with our current funders while identifying new potential donors, and at the same time testing and developing fundraising through community and events and individual giving.

We are now looking for a trusts fundraiser to help drive this strategy forward. The successful candidate will have experience in building relationships and securing income, helping us to build relationships with new trust funders while stewarding effectively our current trust and foundation relationships.

The successful candidate will work closely with the head of fundraising and the fundraising manager to implement Frontline’s annual fundraising plan, taking specific responsibility for researching, building relationships with, writing persuasive proposals to and securing income from new trust and foundation funders, while also providing excellent stewardship and reporting to current funders. The fundraising team is supported by the marketing, events and communications staff of the external relations division.

Some key responsibilities include:

• To develop a pipeline of potential trust funders through prospect research, the development of strong relationships, and writing of persuasive, creative and inspiring applications. 
• To arrange meetings and engagement opportunities with new funders, including ensuring that other Frontline staff are involved in supporting applications and pitches where appropriate. 
• To account manage a portfolio of existing trust supporters, providing excellent stewardship and planning and writing high quality grant and funding reports in line with reporting deadlines. 
• To work closely with other teams at Frontline, particularly the fellowship team and evaluation team, to develop proposals and reports, bring funders closer to our work and help inspire a culture of fundraising across the charity.

A little bit about you 

You will be an experienced fundraiser, with experience in securing grants from trusts and foundations in particular. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, target-driven and passionate about delivering persuasive cases for support through crafting creative and imaginative funding proposals.

We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. Successful candidates for the post of Designer will be able to demonstrate:

• A strong portfolio showcasing a mix of digital, print design and marketing materials, created within brand guidelines
• Experience of working collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously from concept to completion, meeting deadlines and budget requirements
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator and a working knowledge of Premiere Pro and Microsoft 365 applications. An understanding of HTML/CSS fundamentals would be an advantage
• Knowledge of design trends and developments

The main duties of the Designer role include:

Main duties and responsibilities

1.Design

• Conceive, develop and create compelling graphics for campaigns, reports, newsletters, social media, websites, videos and event materials

The Organisation

Methodist Ministers’ Housing Society (MMHS) provides quality housing and associated services for Methodist Church ministers and their spouses/partners. They currently support around 650 ministerial households across the UK, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands. MMHS has generated income mainly through rents from ministerial residents and market tenants, and investments. In their last financial year, total income was £5.7 million and total funds were £187.8m. The market rented portfolio is being sold and the proceeds of sale are being reinvested. This ambitious charity is focused on its continuing impact and is expanding its mission. The Job Role

As the Director of Finance, ICT and Investments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping MMHS’s financial strategy to support its strategic objectives and enable sound decision-making. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will have a strategic mindset, with the ability to provide insights to your senior colleagues, and you will provide advice and guidance to the board of trustees, becoming a trusted partner. You will develop and deliver financial plans, oversee financial systems to ensure robust control and compliance, and lead key financial activities such as monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, projections, and annual audits. Additionally, you will identify financial challenges and opportunities, develop approaches to address them, and lead and motivate your small team to cultivate a high-performing culture.

In ICT, you will implement MMHS’s strategy effectively, leading transformation projects to modernise and improve technology infrastructure and processes. You will oversee cloud migration, drive data-driven decision-making by leveraging AI and automation, implement plans to support outsourcing, and ensure robust cybersecurity and disaster recovery planning. You will also manage relationships with MMHS’s external support and services provider.

With investments, you will implement MMHS’s strategy, working closely with investment managers and third-party experts to align MMHS’s portfolio with strategic objectives, providing guidance to senior colleagues and the board.
 

The Person

This is a key post for the organisation, and they are looking for someone who can provide a long-term view while being ‘hands-on’ with day-to-day operations. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) with significant experience in a leadership role. Experience or a desire to quickly upskill in investments is a distinct advantage. You will have the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. You will be someone who embraces change and continuous improvement. You will also be a team-player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
