If you have charity retail or retail management experience, we would love to hear from you.
Your experience can ensure our existing 3 charity shops generate sustainable income for our branch, which goes to fund the care and rehabilitation of animals in need to find their forever homes.
About us:
RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid, NE & Lincoln Branch rehabilitates and re-homes animals rescued by the RSPCA's national Inspectors. We also promote responsible pet ownership and hold animal action days such as for microchipping.
We currently run 3 charity shops and regular fundraising events, to support more than 100 animals escape cruelty and neglect, to find their forever home each year.
What you can bring to our board:
The Trustees make extremely important decisions for the branch, for example deciding on how to raise income for the branch, as well as meeting in sub-groups to consider important subject matters with recommendations being made to the full board of trustees. Our branch is an extremely passionate branch with 8 trustees currently forming the committee.
We are looking for someone willing to bring their retail management experience to our board. We want to ensure our current shops generate sustainable income for the branch, as well as grow our shop network across our branch area over time. You will support our decisions around revenue models, customer service, marketing, data analysis and pricing. You may have experience of increasing revenue through strategic partnerships, gift aid, online sales, employee and volunteer engagement/training, volunteer recruitment and much more.
You will ideally live and/or work in our branch area in Lincolnshire, UK, to bring local insight to our retail decisions.
We meet monthly as a board, with most of these online but we like to also meet at least 3 times each year in-person, as well as take part in the branch's local fundraising events.
If you would like an informal chat about the opportunity, please contact the Chair, Sophie Easteal.
You will need to be a member of the RSPCA branch, when you are co-opted to the role.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Location: The Exchange, Barnard Street, Darlington Co Durham, DL3 7DR
Applications close on Monday 10th November.
Who we are
We are a growing charity with a range of housing and support services across England and Scotland.
We are ambitious for the people we support, and at at our core we are a charity built upon our key value of hospitality. Every day we say, “Come in. You are most welcome. How can I help?”
We have a history of innovation, 140 years old and counting, and in recent years we’ve built on our long history of providing support to disabled people, autistic people and providing specialist dementia services to support people with experience of homelessness and has become a leading provider of safe houses for people subject to modern-day slavery.
We are primarily funded through contracts with over 90 local authorities, Integrated Care Boards and UK government departments, though we are starting to invest in fundraising. We have worked hard to build our financial strength that in recent years has resulted in opening 27 new services, creating over 200 new jobs within the charity, resulting in 630 colleagues adding new stories to the legacy of the charity every day.
The quality is good too, with all of our regulated services rated as good or outstanding across all areas by the Care Quality Commission, and most importantly a focus on the quality of life of the people we are here to support.
We’re at the point of renewing our strategy and are looking for new Trustees who can bring skills and experience to a strong Board, particularly people with expertise in finance, governance, and fundraising with a focus on trusts, grants and foundations.
Who we are looking for
We want our Trustees to reflect the people and communities we are active in, and are always looking to increase the diversity of the Board; and to embed lived experience within our decision-making.
Our Board and colleagues are people from all religions and none, but they share our values. We are underpinned by catholic social teaching and would welcome applications from people who can help us strengthen the Board’s understanding in this area.
Successful candidates will be strategic, curious, ambitious and want to be part of our next period of growth, as we look to continue to innovate services for high-quality impact in the communities we support.

The Board meets four times a year for c.3 hours in Darlington; however, we are open to exploring new venues for in-person meetings. One of these meetings is our full-day strategy away day. Trustees all sit on a subcommittee, of which there are four: Quality, Finance, Audit & Risk, Governance, and the newly created Fundraising Committee. Committee Meetings are 4 times a year and tend to be held virtually.
We expect that with reading, calls, informal conversations and other ad hoc activities, the time commitment will be up to 1 day a month.

Use your skills and experience in supporting vulnerable groups to help drive forward our locally focused endowed foundation. Our purpose is to provide funding to relieve financial, physical and emotional hardship.
What will you be doing?
This is a great opportunity for someone keen to use their professional experience in supporting vulnerable groups to help drive forward the work of a locally focused endowed foundation. Our purpose is to provide funding to relieve the burden of financial, physical and emotional hardship in our local community of Hampton, Teddington, Twickenham and Whitton.
The perception of Richmond Upon Thames as a wealthy borough masks high levels of need and disadvantage. That means that support for those in need locally rarely comes from outside the borough which in turn means the work of local funders and voluntary sector organisations, like Hampton Fund, is critical. Our endowment of £60m+ enables us to make grants to both individuals and community organisations of £2m-£2.5m pa.
We wish to appoint a new trustee who will have the enthusiasm, time and commitment to contribute to the work of the charity as it begins delivering an ambitious new three-year strategy. You will be involved in making decisions on a wide range of issues, influencing the development of our work and bringing about change. We are specifically seeking a trustee with professional experience in any aspect of social care for vulnerable groups relevant to our grant making. This could, for example, be in the areas of cost-of-living support, health, social work or children’s services.
It is hoped that the candidate will have a connection to our area of benefit through either their daily life or work.
It is not necessary to have previous board committee experience as training will be provided. We encourage applications from people with a range of life experiences, ages and backgrounds.
What are we looking for?
Professional experience and expertise in a relevant aspect of social care to that of our grant making.
We are looking for someone with a good current knowledge of social care infrastructure and systems across either the statutory or voluntary sector, or both. This could, for example, be in the areas of cost-of-living support, health, social work or children’s services.
It is expected that Trustees will either live, work or have another connection to our area of benefit. It is not necessary to have previous board committee experience as training will be provided.
 Personal Qualities
- Empathy with the aims of the charity.
 - The ability to think broadly and objectively: trustees are involved in making decisions on a wide range of issues.
 - An understanding of the voluntary sector and the needs of voluntary sector organisations.
 - An understanding of the broader issues around poverty and disadvantage.
 - The ability to get on with people and work collaboratively.
 - To act as an ambassador for the charity when attending external meetings and events as a trustee.
 - To be discreet and respect confidentiality in all matters related to the charity’s activities.

Additional Information
- Trustees do not receive any remuneration, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
 - The appointment is normally for a period of five years and a Trustee can serve no more than two terms of office, i.e. ten years.

What difference will you make?
As a trustee with experience in supporting vulnerable groups, you will be involved in making decisions on a wide range of issues, influencing the development of our work and bringing about change.
Before you apply
Closing date for applications is Friday 7th November.
Interviews are likely to be held the week commencing 17th November 2025.
Our vision is to build an empowered, resilient and compassionate community where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive.

We are currently looking for TRUSTEES of all backgrounds who have a passion for helping to make a positive difference to the lives of adults who have been in care.
Who we are
The Rees Foundation is a national charity based in Worcestershire that seeks to support adults who have, at some stage in their lives, been in foster care or residential care. Our focus is on the reality of many people’s transitions from being in care and moving into adult life, and the ongoing impact that care experience can have on a person's ability to reach their full potential.
Rees is resolute that care shouldn’t stop at 18, 21, or 25 years, it’s lifelong, and someone should be there to care. We listen, offer practical and emotional help, and we develop projects that really make a positive difference.
The role
The role of a Trustee is to ensure that the charity fulfils its duty to its beneficiaries and delivers on its vision, mission and values. The Board of Trustees are jointly and individually responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, its financial health, the probity of its activities, and developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.
Our Board currently comprises members with a variety of skills in social care, strategic planning, finance and business.
As we have recently extended our registration to operate in Scotland, we are particularly keen to strengthen Scottish representation on our Board. We would welcome applications from individuals who have:
- Experience or professional understanding of the Scottish charity governance framework and OSCR regulations.
 - Knowledge of the Scottish care system, including transitions, aftercare, or leaving-care support in a Scottish context.
 - Connections to communities or organisations across Scotland that can help us better serve care-experienced adults in the region.

We would especially welcome applications from people who have professional knowledge and/or experience in the following areas:
• Finance (management accounting)
• Digital systems
• Fundraising
• Lived experience of being in care
We are also keen to increase diversity within the Board. We particularly welcome those from an ethnic minority background, the LGBTIQA+ community, people with disabilities, and younger people, as these are currently under-represented on our Board.
Living in Scotland is an advantage, but not essential – we welcome applications from anyone who meets the requirements.
If you have not heard from us within four weeks of the closing date, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion. We appreciate your interest and encourage you to apply for future opportunities.
Our aim is to help care leavers thrive. Our projects are available to anyone over 16 who has been in foster care or residential care as a child.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
