The A B Charitable Trust exists to promote human dignity and defend the human rights of the most marginalised and excluded people. Our journey

The Trust was founded 35 years ago to promote and defend human dignity. Since then, we have given over £47m to organisations, and this year we will spend some £10m. We have significantly increased our grantmaking over recent years and intend to continue on a trajectory of growth. This role will join us as we look to the longer term future and begin to develop a new strategy that will build on all that is being achieved through our current strategy, which ends in 2027. 

We are excited by the future and are fortunate to have a modest but growing budget which is expected to reach £15m by 2027. But we are realistic about the challenges involved. The areas we work in are highly politicised and the need is ever increasing, which is why it is important that we attract candidates who are able to help us navigate these waters and who can contribute to maximising our impact at this critical moment. 

About the role and you

The key purpose of this role is to:

• Effectively manage a portfolio or grants across all of our priority areas
• Work closely with the team, grant holders and Board members, developing strong and supportive working relationships
• Contribute to the development of our new strategy and be committed to our values and share our aspirations around best grantmaking practice

The new Grants Manager will need to be genuinely interested in grantmaking in our priority areas and will have the curiosity to learn and develop new areas of knowledge and expertise. You will need to be able to demonstrate a passion for the work of small, grassroots organisations, have emotional intelligence and strong communications skills, and also be genuinely excited about joining our team. 

This could be the right opportunity for a range of potential candidates. We value the knowledge and expertise gained through lived experience of social injustice alongside sector experience. We’re not looking for a seasoned grant maker but you will need to bring commitment to our work and vision, demonstrate experience of seeking to bring about change on tough issues, and have experience of one or more of our priority areas.

We are working in partnership with a Richard House Children’s Hospice to secure their new Corporate Fundraiser. Richard House helps children and their families in East London to lead as happy a life as possible when dealing with a life-limiting health condition. From the moment a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting, life-threatening or complex health condition everything changes. These changes affect the whole family, which is why Richard House feel it is vital not only to provide care to the child but to support the whole family. As a member of the fundraising team, you will directly support the charity’s work, as the majority of their services are funded thanks to the generosity of their supporters. 

The Corporate Fundraiser will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects and partners, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. Key responsibilities will include prospect research and new business development, compelling proposal and proposition creation, account management and event and campaign planning. The role will be hands on, focused on operational fundraising that delivers crucial short- and medium-term funding impact, as well as longer-term and sustainable corporate income for Richard House.

This role is offered on an interim basis, but with the option to become permanent.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Proven ability to deliver income and activity targets in corporate fundraising, with a strong knowledge of corporate fundraising techniques.
• A track record in fundraising with evidence of the successful stewardship of four-figure and above partnerships/gifts, ideally with some exposure to multi-year partnerships.
• Experience of building bespoke fundraising propositions for corporate partners.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills and an ability to interact with prospects and partners at all levels will be key.

We are looking for passionate and qualified A level tutors to deliver high quality group tuition to our cohort of almost 1,000 students. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tutors with a love of learning to help bright students overcome barriers to academic achievement. Tutorials are delivered online to groups of up to 4 students via our bespoke online learning platform.

Tutorials generally take place between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekday evenings, with flexibility around the schedules of our tutors and students.

• Lead weekly hour-long tutorials with your tutor group(s), via The Access Project’s online learning platform

We are excited to be searching for a Men's Player Education and Welfare Officer to join us on a Casual basis. You will organise, facilitate and deliver an outstanding learning environment in all scheduled education sessions with England Development team players whilst they are on England international duty.

What You'll Do?

• Set up and organise all player education equipment for the duration of the camp or tournament.
• Print and organise all player education tasks ahead of each learning session.
• Ensure that all scheduled education sessions are delivered and supported whilst on camp, and to lead on this delivery.
• Provide flexible educational support, tailored to player's individual needs.
• Collate feedback and share with all education providers, club education staff, and parents / carers on player's progress, and where appropriate liaise with key stakeholders if required during the camp. Ensure that this feedback is completed within 2 days of the camp or tournament finishing.
• To be the designated Welfare Officer whilst on camp. Support the MDT to ensure that the player's welfare and safeguarding policy is upheld, with a focus on pastoral care throughout the camp duration.
• Work with the Team Manager and Head Coach to support supplementary organised activities i.e. life skills, cultural workshops, or educational visits.
• Attend at least one MDT planning meeting before each camp, and one MDT review meeting post-event to ensure appropriate handover and transfer of information from FA staff to event staff and vice versa.
• Support with off camp projects and stakeholder communication as required and directed.
• Respect the England team elite performance environment at all times.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties or additional tasks as directed by the Player Education Coordinator or other FA staff.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

What You'll Need?

Essentially for the role:

• Safeguarding and Welfare Expertise: A thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, including The FA's Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures.
• Relevant Qualifications: Teaching Qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is essential. Additional desirable qualifications include Elite Athlete Wellbeing course, Player Care equivalency, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification.
• Experience in Welfare Roles: Prior experience in a welfare/pastoral position within a football or sports setting is essential.
• Understanding of Football Development Programmes: Knowledge of The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is desirable

About the role

We’re looking for a Associate Director of Brand & Marketing Communications with excellent brand, marketing and digital experience at a leadership level to lead our Brand and Marketing Communications Team.

We're looking for a passionate, values-driven CEO to guide our charity into its next inspiring chapter. 

The Coalition registered as a charity in December 2023. We have spent the last 18 months developing the infrastructure of the organisation so we can meet the Charity Commission requirements. An exciting career opportunity for an enthusiastic and initiative-taking health promoter to work as part of THT South’s dynamic Brighton based health promotion team. You will be delivering health promotion interventions, supporting, and advising individuals from at-risk communities with the aim of reducing HIV risk and maximising sexual health.

The Loan Administration Assistant will provide key financial administration support to the wider Big Issue Invest Team. You will also provide key monitoring services such as maintaining and updating portfolio management systems, prepare routine correspondence, and respond to client queries, support the monitoring of existing investments, tracking key milestones, repayments, covenants, and impact metrics.
 
You will also work with the wider investment team, for example to assist the Investment Manager and Accounts Manager with Risk assessments and Performance assessments where required.
 
You will be a keen "numbers person" who is used to working in depth with Excel. You will have a background in a financial environment and/or a relevant degree or financial qualification. We would also consider a suitably qualified candidate who wishes to move into a social finance career. A strong understanding and history of confidentiality in a financial context is also essential.
