Fixed-term contract to cover parental leave for until June 2026
Remote, in this role you’ll work from home but will be required to come into our Manchester office a minimum of every 6 weeks for team days. This role will include occasional evening and weekend work.
We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join us at the Co-op Foundation.
The Co-op Foundation is the Co-op’s charity. We’re a grant making and campaigning organisation with a co-operative difference. We care deeply about how our funding and campaigning can shift power to young people and we trust our partners to do what matters most in their communities.
As our Communications Manager, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of communications relating to funding programmes and learning and impact. It’ll be up to you to amplify and support the work of our funded partners, so we can expand and diversify the reach of our funding, promoting our distinctly co-operative approach to grant making so that we reach those most in need of support. You’ll have the opportunity to really get to know our partners, and help tell their story, and the amazing work that we do together.
What you’ll do
- Develop, deliver and evaluate integrated communications plans for Foundation funding programmes
- Lead the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of a D,E&I workplan on behalf of the Comms team
- Collaborate with and manage delivery partners contracted to deliver comms for funding programmes
- Produce content that brings to life the funding programmes, including videos, photoshoots, in depth case studies, blogs and more
- Manage contracts and relationships with external agencies and delivery partners to support delivery of comms
- Build relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists and be the main point of contact for PR relating to funding programmes
- Work co-operatively with colleagues from the wider Comms team, Funding & Partnerships and Co-op Community & Comms teams
- Forecast and manage the funds comms budget
This role would suit people who have
- Great communication skills, with the ability to write in an engaging way for different comms channels, in particular digital channels
- Experience of working in a busy comms team in the charity sector, delivering multiple projects and campaigns at any one time
- Experience of designing and delivering integrated comms campaigns, including internally to colleagues, with good knowledge of tools used for monitoring and evaluation
- Experience of creating content and posting on social media channels and websites
- Good knowledge of D,E&I (diversity, equality and inclusion) and how this applies in a communications context

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Trainer: Domestic Abuse, Gender-Based Violence, and Trauma Informed Working to deliver training to a variety of different audiences. You will be delivering training on an ad-hoc basis, in a range of settings including corporate clients, public sector workers, and other charities.
We are seeking trainers with both frontline and training experience, who can deliver this type of content in compassionate, articulate and accessible ways both in person and online. Rise for Change is dedicated to creating learning spaces that are safe for all folks, in content and delivery style.
Rise for Change is the training arm of Hope After Harm and currently provides domestic abuse, sexual harassment, and trauma-informed working training programmes for non-specialist professionals, however, we are aiming to expand our training offer to cover other areas of gender-based violence. Uniquely created by our subject matter experts, our training directly addresses the need for intersectional, and trauma informed training on gender-based violence for professionals in all sectors. We actively promote self-reflection, critical thinking and survivor voice to affect sustainable, inclusive change for survivors. Our aim is to empower participants, no matter their professional role, to be able to respond safely and appropriately to survivors both within the workplace and in the wider scope of their lives.

This is what a Specialist Trainer will do:
- Deliver specialist training about domestic abuse, gender-based violence and trauma informed working to a range of clients, primarily online with some face-to-face sessions.
- Ensure that the way they work is aligned with the values of our team.
- Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the training will be delivered and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of clients, ensuring the service is accessible to all.
- Respect and uphold the value and necessity of intersectionality within domestic abuse and sexual violence prevention and safeguarding, across all areas of work.
- Treat all participants with respect and care, positively representing Rise for Change and Hope After Harm in every interaction.
- Encourage feedback from participants for each session delivered to support with the continued development of Rise for Change training programmes.
- Undertake any training and continued professional development required for the role.
- Uphold GDPR and confidentiality of any data and content whilst in this role.
- Complete any necessary admin, as required as part of the session delivery.
This is what you will bring as a Specialist Trainer:
- A strong knowledge of domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence, it’s impacts and working from a trauma-informed perspective.
- Experience as a highly skilled trainer, with the ability to engage people through both in person and remote delivery.
- Preferably, frontline experience of supporting survivors of gender-based violence.
- Understanding of supporting survivors in various settings (e.g. the workforce, as a manager, as a professional with a safeguarding role).
- An empathetic, caring approach to training- to you, learning is not just about providing information but ensuring a holistic approach to the learning environment.
- Skilled user of technology with high literacy of key presenting programmes, video platforms and databases.
- Have a good understanding of the nuances of culture, race, sexual orientation and gender identity within domestic abuse and sexual violence, and be committed to intersectional ways of working.
- Knowledge of adult learning techniques and safeguarding procedures.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
- Places the survivor at the centre of all that you do.
For this role you will need:
- To be free from any criminal conviction which would conflict with the responsibilities of the post; you may be required to have a DBS Enhanced disclosure.
- To be able to deal with all information on a confidential basis and understand data protection requirements.
- To have Citizenship of the UK or have entitlement to work in the UK

The Research Manager will support all aspects of Youth Futures research, from project development to impact.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

ROLE SUMMARY
This is a great opportunity for a motivated and ambitious fundraiser with experience in trusts, foundations and/or corporate fundraising to join upReach as we deliver our three-year strategy (2024–2027). The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of upReach through the development and stewardship of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and by helping secure five and six figure grants and gifts.
Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of funders and help the wider team to meet income targets. You will work collaboratively across the organisation including the delivery and impact teams, finance, partnerships, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

Develop and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with key external contacts, including funders and volunteers.

Champion and model a culture of outstanding relationship management.

Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate.

Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters.

Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback.
Fundraising

Independently manage a portfolio of charitable trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters, giving at the five and six figure level. Steward these relationships delivering the highest levels of donor care.

Research and identify potential new funding opportunities to build the team’s pipeline.

Lead on the cultivation of your own pipeline of new funders, working creatively to find opportunities to engage organisations with our work.

Develop compelling, comprehensive funding proposals for trusts & foundations and companies, to renew existing partnerships and secure funding from new organisations.

Work closely with colleagues in the Data & Impact and Programmes team to prepare and write donor reports and other impact communications.

Contribute to the smooth delivery of philanthropic corporate partnerships including employee engagement, staff fundraising activities and volunteering.

Prepare and thoroughly brief senior colleagues ahead of meetings with potential and existing funders.
Financial

Contribute to team fundraising income target (circa £2m) in line with the overarching strategy.

Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation to senior team members.
Team Support and Collaboration

Manage team members on our graduate programme (rotatees) on fundraising projects as required.

Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and planning sessions.

Work with teams across the organisation to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.
Systems and Processes

Maintain accurate and up to date records on the CRM to enable effective donor, supporter, supplier and volunteer relationship management.

Comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and other legal requirements.

Continue to develop fundraising skills and knowledge, including keeping up to date with best practice and sector trends.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful, it is anticipated that you will have experience working in a fundraising role within a charity or similar environment. The ideal candidate should display these skills:

Significant experience working in a fundraising or similar role within a charity or nonprofit setting, to include writing funding proposals and stewardship reports.

Knowledge of high value fundraising techniques including a clear understanding of prospecting, cultivating, securing and managing partnerships.

Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and oral, with the ability to turn complex ideas into concise and effective cases for support.

Role Summary
We are looking for a passionate and effective Autistic Lived Experience Trainer to support us to deliver an exciting new programme of work. We have been commissioned by an NHS organisation to deliver and support the roll out of autism-informed care training to all staff working in their mental health inpatient settings. This programme of work will run for 9 months, and will include the delivery of various half day and full day autism-informed training sessions both in-person and online. We will also be working closely with Experts by Experience to become skilled and confident in delivery of this training to support the organisational sustainability of this knowledge. The programme of work will also embed an evaluation of the training to demonstrate learning and impact.
The Autistic Lived Experience Trainer will be working closely alongside our Lived Experience Lead to deliver all aspects of the programme, with support from our wider staff team.
Role Description
- Co-facilitate training sessions both online and in-person to staff from various professions and in various roles across mental health in-patient settings.
- Deliver pre-prepared content and facilitate reflective conversations.
- Monitor feedback and adjust content and delivery as necessary.
- Collect and analyse feedback data, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Support Experts by Experience to become confident with delivery of content.
- Ensure training content remains relevant and includes the latest research, alongside lived experience insight.
- Use own lived experience insight to supplement content and support reflection and catalyse change.
- Liaise with NHS colleagues to support training session logistics
- To represent Neurodiverse Connection nationally, regionally and locally as appropriate and to promote the work that we do.
- To work alongside the Neurodiverse Connection staff and associate team to ensure delivery of high-quality work.
- Frequent travel within Norfolk and Suffolk to deliver in person training.
- Some national travel may also be required to support training and delivery on other projects.

LEAP is built on the foundation of strong, supportive relationships that empower residents to move towards stable, independent living. Through one-to-one key worker support, trauma-informed care, and community engagement, residents rebuild trust, form friendships, and gain confidence. About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, Social Care professional to join our Health & Wellbeing team on a 12 month Fixed Term contract.
Your role will be to understand the unique and often complex growing needs of our beneficiaries and to provide advice, advocacy and support to empower them to access the health and social care services they need. You will lead on hospital discharge planning and rehabilitation and support to access social care, so must be proficient in these key areas with recent experience. You will also lead on supporting Personal Independence Payments (PIP) applications and while we welcome experience in this area, full training will be given. You will contribute to the development and delivery of the Trust’s health and wellbeing services, and you will be an important part of the successful delivery of the annual programme of Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs), carried out in beneficiaries’ homes.
Skills & Abilities
To succeed in this busy but highly rewarding role, you will:
- Be a good listener with excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach
- Possess excellent knowledge of current social care referral, assessment and funding processes and the interface between health and social care – particularly in respect of hospital discharge planning and support
- Already have a good practical knowledge of the UK benefits system, particularly PIP
- Have experience of undertaking needs assessments (including in people’s own homes)
- Have a track record of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
