The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community supporting unaccompanied minors who have experienced human rights abuses and are seeking asylum, refugee status and settlement in the United Kingdom.
As an ‘advocate’ caseworkers support young people to express their views and wishes, to stand up for their rights, make choices and access opportunities.
As a Casework Advocate you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.
As a Casework Advocate you will be out and about with young people - accompanying to appointments and encouraging their involvement and access to their community and support networks. You must be prepared to challenge certain decisions and practices where required for the welfare of the young person. The role can involve supporting young people to initiate legal challenges when necessary and advocating on young person’s behalf where required.

About the role
Reporting in to the Business Development Lead (MCC), the role of Business Development Manager for the LAC region is a key role is being responsible for securing new funding aligned to Christian Aid's strategy and thematic priorities.
The role will lead business development efforts across the Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) and expand the Institutional funding portfolio and collaborate closely with and strategically advise MCC Head of Impact and Partnership & Impact Funding (PIF) team and MCC teams to develop donor engagement strategies, build funding pipelines, identify new opportunities, and establish partnerships to grow program portfolios.
The post-holder will strengthen and maintain relationships with government agencies, multilateral organisations, institutional donors, and foundations, working in coordination with MCC Programme Portfolio and Partnership teams.
Some of the main responsibilities and accountabilities of the role are:
- Meet institutional Christian Aid income targets at the MCC level, actively contributing to PIF overall divisional goals.
- Collaborate closely with Head of Impact and Partnership Business Development teams on strategic funding to secure new and grow existing funding by developing donor engagement strategies, growing funding pipelines, identifying new opportunities and establishing partnerships to grow program portfolios.
- Build and cultivate strategic partnerships with institutional donors, including government bodies, multilateral agencies, and foundations, to expand funding opportunities across the MCC and beyond, in coordination with the Partnership and Business Development team in PIF.
- Build a wide network of contacts and funding relationships across the MCC region with donors, peers, consortia partners and implementing agencies.
- Develop high-quality funding proposals coordinating with Impact department, partners, donors and the relevant donor audience unit in Partnerships and Impact Funding, ensuring alignment with thematic priorities, signature programmes and donor requirements.
- Work closely with the MCC Contracts and Portfolio Manager to ensure seamless integration with MCC delivery teams.
- Supervise the onboarding of new programs, ensuring seamless integration with MCC delivery teams.
- Work closely with the MCC Contracts and Portfolio Manager to maintain compliance and accountability, reviewing reporting for quality assurance.

Essential
- Proven track record in securing multiple multi-million-pound grants for NGOs.
- Substantial experience in building and cultivating strategic donor partnerships including engagement at global, regional and country mission levels with senior stakeholders and demonstrable experience of engaging with private sector, foundations, government and multi-lateral donors.
- Proven track record of developing multi-million pound budgets.
- Advanced knowledge of donor funding landscape and emerging trends.
- Substantial expertise in leading multi-discipline bid teams for grant and commercial agreements.
- Substantial expertise and experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation tools and developing grant budgets.
- Substantial background in humanitarian programming and working with humanitarian donors at UN, bilateral, and NGO levels.
- For LAC roles only, fluent in both spoken and written Spanish and English.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
- Donor certifications and compliance training are desirable qualifications for the role, ensuring a strong understanding of donor requirements and adherence to industry standards and regulations.

The Purpose of the service is to establish a local integrated offer of intensive, therapeutic overnight stays and outreach support. Senior support staff will work alongside management to ensure the service meets Ofsted children’s home regulations and works in line with current legislation.

About the role

We are looking to fill a Programme Manager role.
This would be working on our Rise programme, managing multiple relationships with university partners and leading and supporting a delivery team of Programme Coordinators (PCs) and Programme Leaders (PLs) to attract, onboard and provide high-quality support to Associates (the undergraduates we support).
Experience
To be successful, it is anticipated that you would have prior experience in the delivery of programmes and projects and in managing/leading a team.
Essential experience:

Experience in programme delivery from end to end, from design to reporting and evaluation.

Responsibilities
This role will have a wide impact across your programmes and the charity as a whole, as well as maintaining high-quality personalised support for your own Associates.
1) PROGRAMME DESIGN AND DELIVERY
-
Make decisions concerning the design and delivery of your programmes, creating a 12-month plan in advance of the start of each recruitment cycle.
-
Plan student recruitment activities and onboarding in collaboration with university partners. This will include working with the Pipeline and Marketing teams to efficiently meet onboarding targets.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of your programmes with overarching responsibility for meeting internal engagement and application success OKRs, which you will utilise throughout the year to set priority areas for your team.

Contribute to weekly Programme Manager meetings, sharing your insight and experience to generate ideas and practical solutions that support the overall improvement of upReach’s programme design and delivery.

2) TEAM MANAGEMENT

Manage a team of Programme Coordinators/Leaders/Junior Managers in a variety of locations, both virtually and in person - providing ongoing personal and professional development support through weekly 1-to-1 calls or meetings, written feedback on documents, or day-to-day guidance via Slack.

Assist Programme Coordinators / Programme Leaders/Junior Managers to provide high quality personalised support to their Associates, which includes helping them to document all interactions with Associates and application progress.

Use relevant impact dashboards and data to set priorities for your team and support with competing workload demands and time management, to ensure that OKRs and stakeholder KPIs are achieved across all areas.

Manage the performance and development of your team - including setting professional development goals and utilising a range of resources and tools where necessary to help your team perform successfully in their roles. You will have regular, open and supportive discussions with your team members, giving feedback in your weekly 1-to-1s and your mid- and end-of-year appraisals.

Engage your direct reports through completing a Leadership and Management apprenticeship, if this is something your direct reports choose to do after 18 months on the FCLP.

Be part of the upReach Leadership Team and contribute to forming the strategy and direction of the charity. This also includes passing on team feedback to your manager and the leadership team and proposing practical solutions.
3) PARTNERSHIPS & EVENTS

The Role

Guts UK is looking for a dynamic and strategic Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager with a proven track record of securing high-value support from corporate partners and major donors.
You will be a highly experienced, corporate and/or philanthropy manager with well-developed relationship management skills, excited by the opportunity of shaping, developing and elevating these important supporters for the charity.
A committed and inspiring ambassador for Guts UK, you will also be a great team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues to deliver a dynamic and innovative programme of donor cultivation and stewardship.
Location
We have offices on London and Huddersfield, both of which are easily accessible by public transport or road. We support hybrid working but attendance in the chosen office is required for a minimum of 1 day per week.

The Services Division leads the delivery and growth of our care and support services and NHS and Local Authority partnership working, aligned with our corporate strategy. The team are responsible for ensuring services meet quality standards, contractual requirements and provide great outcomes for people we support. They ensure that in areas where we are leading or delivering partnership working that we meet any contractual requirements and develop effective governance and oversight of this area of activity, including maintaining appropriate separation between our operational service delivery and that of the Strategic Partnership & Alliances Division. The Services Division is a large and constantly growing team being commissioned to deliver care and support services through funding by Local Authorities, the NHS (local and national) and other central government initiatives.
How you will make a difference
As a Head Of Area for Rethink Mental Illness, you will work as part of the London and South East Regional Services team. You’ll engage NHS Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) and Local Authorities, as well as engaging with government level strategic programmes, developing partnerships that align with our corporate strategy ‘working together to build communities that care’ You will ensure that we utilise the experience, expertise, and reputation of Rethink Mental Illness to help shape care and support services, change the way in which services are delivered through new partnerships and grow our service offer to improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness in places we operate, and beyond.
The release of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan for England in 2025, titled ‘Fit For The Future,’ presents new opportunities to influence the government’s three major initiatives: transitioning care from hospitals to community settings, incorporating digital technology, and focusing on prevention rather than treatment. These objectives align with our Corporate Strategy and are pursued through our internal Mission Delivery Boards.
You’ll work with other people and agencies, in a joined-up way, so that people living with severe mental illness receive coordinated support. The improved outcomes we expect to see through the delivery of Communities that Care are focussed on:

To be part of the team responsible for the administration of the multi-million-pound response mode funding programme for discovery cancer research.
Reporting to the Research Funding Manager, to assist with the processing of funding applications, their review by external experts and the charity’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), the administration and financial management of the resulting awards.
About the role and what we’re looking for
What will you be doing?
· Supporting applicants from all over the world to bring us their new ideas in cancer research by providing guidance in a timely manner. You’ll receive and process discovery cancer research funding applications, ensuring validity and completeness.
· Leading on the expert peer review process. You’ll identify appropriate expert reviewers to ensure that the charity receives high quality, independent review advice to inform funding decisions.
· Managing funded grants. You’ll build relationships with grantholders and process change requests to best serve the science of our funded awards.
· Working with partner organisations. You’ll collaborate with our research partners to manage co-funded projects as well as providing funding information for internal and external purposes.
· Demonstrating our values. As a Curestarter, you’ll demonstrate our values every day - curious, united, real, entrepreneurial and spirited – as you help bring about our vision that no life is cut short by cancer.
What are we looking for?
· With a higher degree in a biomedical related field, you have excellent scientific understanding of molecular and cell biology as well as a broad knowledge of cancer research.
· You have a good understanding of research funding processes, particularly peer review and conflicts of interest.
· You’re a collaborative person who works respectfully in a diverse team of experts to deliver work that makes an impact.
· As a detailed planner and organiser, you thrive on deadlines and feel confident prioritising your time across multiple, concurrent projects.
