NHS Providers’ Development programmes team delivered a range of training and development activities for NHS boards and foundation trust governors. The team delivers over 200 events annually. We are looking for a senior development programmes coordinator to take responsibility for the efficient coordination of this work, elements of which are delivered virtually, in-person or hybrid.
In addition, the postholder will have responsibility for the effective line management to some of the team’s programme administrators/assistants.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a busy, high-performing team working across two of NHS Providers’ successful programmes – GovernWell and the Board Development Programme. The individual should have excellent programme coordination skills, the ability to work effectively across multiple projects will be critical to success. The postholder will be an excellent communicator with the ability to liaise with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally. They must be able to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team. Along with being analytical and insightful, the postholder will be highly organised with a keen eye for detail. This role will involve line management responsibilities, experience is desirable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.
- To attend to the general care, maintenance and storage of classroom equipment.
STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.
- Be aware of and follow plans, risk assessments and record keeping pertaining to individual pupils, including care plans, health care plans, feeding plans, moving and handling and behaviour management plans, actively engaging in relevant training and competencies offered to ensure that you are able to support in keeping all pupils in the class safe.
- Ensure safe transport for all pupils in the class for off site visits.
STL 4 – Contribute to Positive Relationships
- Interact with and respond positively and professionally, to pupils and adults, including colleagues, other professionals and parents/ carers at all times.

- Support the delivery of appropriate communication, language and literacy as well as the learning targets related to cognition to individuals, small groups and whole classes of pupils, providing accurate support and feedback to the teacher and pupils.

- Prepare commonly used ICT for use in lessons and be aware of and be able to use hardware and software commonly used in the school.

- Move and change individual’s positions in ways which minimise pain, discomfort and friction and maximise the individual’s independence, self-respect and dignity.
- Observe, record and immediately report any significant changes in the individual’s condition when you are moving them.
- Record details of methods of moving and handling which the individual finds acceptable according to legal and organisational requirements.
- Undertake therapeutic programmes that have been developed by physio and occupational therapists.
STL 14 – Support Individuals during Therapy Sessions
- Receive relevant training from therapists and then implement training and competencies throughout the pupils’ day.
- Be able to articulate the purpose of programmes and ensure their delivery in an integrated way.
- Work with individuals to identify the effectiveness of the therapy sessions on their health and social well-being.
- Check observations with appropriate people and against agreed outcomes.
- Identify any issues or problems in relation to the therapy sessions and work with individuals, key people and others to identify and agree changes to the therapy sessions.
- Record and report on therapy sessions within confidentiality agreements and according to legal and organisational requirements.
STL 16 – Provide Displays
- To produce and maintain displays in accordance with the school’s Display Policy.

- Highlight and praise positive aspects of pupils’ behaviour appropriate to the individual.

STL 40 – Support Pupils with Cognition and Learning Needs
- Implement agreed strategies to support pupils with cognition and learning difficulties to learn.
- Sequence and structure learning environment and experiences ensuring adequate time.
- Consistently apply visual, auditory, object and tactile cues.
- Provide an appropriate level of assistance to enable the pupil to experience a sense of achievement, maintain self-esteem and self-confidence and encourage self-help skills.
- Listen carefully to the pupil and positively encourage him/her to communicate his/her needs and ideas.
STL 42 – Support Pupils with Sensory and/or Physical Needs
- Obtain accurate and up-to-date information about: a the nature and level of the pupil’s sensory and/or physical needs and apply to the pupil’s learning needs, planned learning tasks and activities.
- With support adapt the layout of the learning environment and the equipment used to enable the pupil with sensory and/or physical needs to access and maximise learning opportunities.
- Encourage the pupil to actively participate in learning tasks and activities consistent with his/her developmental level, physical abilities and any medical conditions.
- Ensure that any specialist equipment is used appropriately to maintain the pupil’s comfort and maximise his/her participation in learning tasks and activities.
- Give appropriate assistance to enable the pupil to experience a sense of achievement and encourage independence.
- Positively reinforce the pupil’s efforts to participate in learning tasks and activities.
STL 43 – Assist in the Administration of Medication
- Apply standard precautions for infection control and other relevant health and safety measures.
- Report any discrepancies or omissions you might find to the person in control of the administration and to relevant staff as appropriate.
- Be aware of School procedures.
- Contribute to administering and record keeping of medication to individuals in the appropriate manner, using the correct techniques according to the care plan if signed off as competent in doing so.
- Ensure the security of medications throughout the process and ensure all medication is stored in the correct safe place when administration is complete.
STL 4 – Meet their Personal Support Needs
- Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as and when necessary ensuring care and dignity at all times.
- Assist with the organisation of refreshments and mealtimes, feeding individual pupils where necessary including feeding by gastric tube after receiving the necessary training.
- Support pupils in the water and assist with swimming and or hydrotherapy programmes.
PDR – Take part in School Staff Development Procedures
- Take part in a performance management programme and work towards specific pupil progress and professional development targets.
- Take part in a staff induction programme, and pursue other training opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
- Take part in staff development days, class team meetings, departmental meetings, whole staff meetings and other occasional meetings held in usual working hours.
- To support students and volunteers who work within the classroom from time to time.

This fixed term post will consist of an initial 1-month induction on the IPU, followed by a further 2 placements of 9 months each on our In-Patient Unit and with our Hospice Care at Home team. The final month will be an opportunity to consolidate your learning.
The role involves holistic assessment and identification of patient needs, decision making and care planning alongside other MDT colleagues and community partners. It involves strong assessment skills, implementation of a management plan and evaluation to ensure that responsive high-quality, nursing care and support is available for patients, their families, and carers.
The role requires a range of skills and knowledge in palliative care nursing including symptom management, psychological skills, medication administration and management, organisational, leadership and people management skills. Patient, family and carer education, including for patients and professionals within care homes, is also an element of the role.
The successful candidate will have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification in palliative care, will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Their role will have clinical leadership and practice development responsibilities, and the successful applicant will work towards taking an active role in workload management and high-quality care, including patient safety and service improvement.

Listen to Families is an innovative new service to improve prison healthcare by involving families and carers more proactively in the process. A pilot project - the first of its kind - has been running in London for around 18 months. It seeks to create mechanisms and opportunities for families to be heard and influence how healthcare services are delivered and developed.
The service listens to the views and experiences of families, feeds that back to the NHS and providers, makes recommendations about where improvements could be made, and works with them to co-produce solutions with people who have lived experience.
This role holder will set up a similar pilot project in four prisons in the South East – HMPs Elmley, Downview, Huntercombe and Aylesbury. This is an opportunity for someone to join and shape the delivery of the project from the day one.

What the role involves

1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to maximise the income and profit sustainability of a multi-site and multi format retail business through the effective management of people, resources and budgets. The role will contribute to the development on the strategic direction and the future expansion of EHAAT’s retail operation, and to empower and engage the retail team through positive and clear leadership.
This is an important role in enabling the Retail Team to focus raising funds to support our life-saving service to the people of Essex and Hertfordshire.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Associate Retail Commercial Director to provide expertise, leadership, vision and guidance, to drive forward the strategic direction of the retail operation and deliver outstanding performance in all aspects of charity retail.
- Develop, implement and manage the necessary practices, systems, and controls to ensure the operational, financial and administrative compliance necessary to deliver an efficient retail operation.
- Lead on the expansion of the existing shop portfolio including: sourcing, costing & planning of new shops including shop-fitting, staff recruitment & opening. Working with the Associate Retail Commercial Director and Governance Manager on lease negotiations and securing lease completions.
- To grow and develop the Ecommerce division supporting both the Ecommerce Manager and Donation Centre Manager in online innovation and expansion.
- Work closely with the Volunteer Manager to create a culture of volunteer empowerment and development focusing on volunteer recruitment, management and retention throughout the retail department.
- Work closely with the Associate Retail Commercial Director to build productive relationships across EHAAT to ensure that the retail team are part of the wider charity team, and are able to advocate for the charity with customers and other supporters.
- Work with the Fundraising Team to embed shared fundraising and retail incentives to drive new income streams and open opportunities for both departments.
- Work with the marketing team and other key retail staff to further develop the customer experience, ensuring the interior design and quality is in keeping with the required profile. Ensure that shop managers adhere to brand guidelines and that messaging in relation to the work of the charity is visible and impactful.
- Represent EHAAT in the community and public domain as appropriate. Ensuring that relationships in the community are managed in a way that achieves the best outcome for all parties.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of the charity retail market and the activities of other local charitable organisations to identify market gaps and new opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relations with external retail volunteer support and chair quarterly retail working groups meetings.

Operational Responsibilities
- Lead, support and motivate the retail team, managing performance or conduct issues as required – this includes direct line management of the Area Manager, Ecommerce Manager and Donation Centre Manager with whom you will be expected to conduct regular documented 1:1s.
- Ensure that timely and appropriate communication and feedback mechanisms are in place for your team and volunteers, engaging, and encouraging contribution. Ensure the wider charity is kept up to date with relevant retail activity through team meetings charity team events.
- Work with the Associate Retail Commercial Director to plan, set and manage the annual retail operating budget, reforecast quarterly as appropriate and take steps to address underperformance.
- Monitor and evaluate the commercial performance of each shop and Ecommerce division, maximise profit across the portfolio and report to the Associate Retail Commercial Director monthly about the continued viability of each.
- Deal with all property matters in respect of their on-going management, maintaining and updating the existing property database of leases and subleases. To be across all expiry dates, break notices, rent reviews and other relevant matters with all retail leases.
- Take overall responsibility for the Donation Centre through supporting the Donation Centre Manager to ensure the development of excellent warehouse, sorting and transport operations in order to maintain sufficient stock available for all shops and ecommerce.
- Work closely with the Head of Workplace and workplace team to ensure all retail operations are compliant with health and safety policies and standards. Ensure a robust and efficient process is maintained for all workplace reported concerns or incidents and are addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all investigations into reported accidents, incidents and near misses are carried out without delay and appropriate action is taken to prevent a reoccurrence by either immediately remedying the defect or implementing control measures to prevent the situation from deteriorating or reoccurring.
- Implement a structured approach to using data in the analysis of sales.
- Lead an excellent customer service ethic across the business ensuring this is monitored through initiatives such as mystery shopping.
- Ensure that Gift Aid procedures, processes and claims are completed within the agreed time frames.
- Develop an online retail shop via the EHAAT website to offer pre-loved goods. Set operational structure and budgetary targets.
- Develop and control EHAAT’s charity merchandise from design through to purchase. Working with external suppliers to produce a range of sellable and profitable goods that develops the charities community awareness.
- Undertake any other tasks, duties or responsibilities as requested by your line manager or other senior manager, including the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive.
- Work closely with the People Director and People Team to ensure all people matters are managed in line with EHAAT’s policies and procedures.

Our passionate and diverse team of around 80 staff and 150 volunteers provides expert veterinary care, rescue and rehoming services, programmes in the community, and guidance and support to improve the lives of dogs and cats in need, in London and abroad. Currently the need for our services is greater than ever so we are looking to recruit an Head RVN with an interest in shelter and charity medicine.
We have had a community vet clinic on site at our historic Northwest London shelter since 1925. For nearly 100 years, our London clinic has delivered many tens of thousands of treatments to dogs and cats. Through our modern, well equipped veterinary clinic we provide a range of preventative veterinary treatments free of charge, and without judgment, to those who are unable to afford it. We also carry out a wide range of surgeries and treatments in order to prepare the Mayhew animals in our care for rehoming.

Our Clinic operates 7-days per week and open to the public Monday to Saturday. Our Head RVN works 35 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. From time to time to we require extra cover on weekends and bank holidays, and out of office hours in the event of an emergency. The Child and Family Specialist role is part of an exciting and innovative jointly commissioned service between London Borough of Harrow and NW London NHS and represent an exciting partnership with Anna Freud. The Early Intervention and Prevention Service is a community wellbeing team for children and families.
The Child and Family Specialist will work in partnership with schools, children and families to assess and respond to the psychological needs of children experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties through undertaking assessments and providing interventions. The post-holder will also: provide specialist advice and support to school staff in the identification of mental health needs of children and accessing appropriate resources; and actively contribute to outcome monitoring and service improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Anna Freud’s thriving Clinical Help offers in the Schools Division. The post-holder will offer a range of clinical activities to address mental health needs in children and young people, including assessment and direct individual and group work with young and parents/carers.
The post-holder will be supported through supervision and will deliver consultation, training, and workshops to non-mental health staff.
Location
Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, either at Harrow Community sites (Cedars Children’s Centre, 127 Whittlesea Road, Harrow HA3 6ND) and occasionally at Anna Freud, 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH.

About this role:
As a member of YVC’s team of Health and Wellbeing Facilitators you will work closely with colleagues from South Tyneside’s Physical Health Hub, and Primary Care Mental Health Team to support people in South Tyneside, in particular those with learning disabilities and those who require support with their mental health, to meet their wellbeing and physical health needs.
You will help people to access the health services and support they need by ensuring people have information that is accessible to them, by supporting services to make reasonable adjustments, and by supporting the delivery of treatment and assessment programmes under the direction of practitioners.
You will also link with Social Care and Voluntary Sector services to ensure that people can access a range of support in order to improve their health and wellbeing. You will ensure that people’s voice is both heard and acted on to improve this support.

Main Responsibilities:
· Take part in relevant supervision, support and training to ensure YVC deliver a consistent and high-quality service.
· You will promote mental and physical health and wellbeing by:
o Getting to know people who access our service and supporting them
to identify the health issues that matter most to them.
o Linking the person with their GP / Primary Care Health Hub for their annual health check/ mental health program.
o Helping people identify and understand their own health, wellbeing and social needs and empowering people around accessing reasonable adjustments to address their barriers to services.
o Aiding the person to understand their Health Action Plan and what matters to me program.
o Promoting people’s self-confidence and develop communication skills around health needs.
o Supporting people to engage with the appropriate services to treat and improve their mental and physical health issues
· Maintain an active caseload. Manage risk proactively. Keep accurate records using our Charity Log database. Maintain confidentiality for our clients.
· Work closely with colleagues with lived experience of learning disability or autism in the Quality Checker Team to carry out NHS Quality Checks across the GP Practices in South Tyneside.
· Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the service, including the collection of case studies, data and by contributing to feedback and evaluation sessions with the aim of improving the service.
· Assist in the promotion of the service and when necessary, work outside normal office hours. Be prepared to travel within Tyne & Wear.
· Be an active participant in the wider YVC team and seek to work with all YVC colleagues to deliver our strategy, maintain quality and embed the values of the organisation.
Person Specification:
We are a values-based organisation and you will have demonstrable belief in the rights of people who use our services.
You will also have:
· Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and autistic people, or other marginalised and vulnerable groups.
· Curiosity and an ability to look beyond how the person presents in order to build a deeper understanding of what matters most to them.
· Creativity, with an ability to solve problems and take people with them in solutions.
· An ability to work in changing and complex environments, with the flexibility to adapt their approach as needed
· A high level of emotional intelligence, the ability to empathise, and a genuine desire to help others.
· The ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including those with a learning disability, autistic people, family carers and professionals.
· Experience of considering and managing risk, and of conducting risk assessments, with good knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
· A good understanding of the health and wellbeing issues affecting disabled, vulnerable and socially isolated people – particularly those with learning disabilities and autistic people.
· Experience of making information easy to understand.
· Experience of working with health and social care professionals.
· Knowledge of the health and social care sector in South Tyneside, and of the communities and localities where our services are delivered.
· Good organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise work, and deliver agreed objectives quickly and efficiently
· The ability to work alone using their own initiative, as well as working as part of a team
· IT literacy, be confident using Microsoft Office, client databases and interactive platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams
· An understanding of the need for GDPR and client confidentiality.
You may also have:
· Experience of working within a community physical or mental health setting
· An understanding of co-production and have demonstrable experience of co-producing and delivering projects, workshops and training sessions.
· A sound set of skills to use social media to engage with a range of audiences
