About the role:

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.
• Manage daily advice line operations, including work on cases, data and continuous improvement.
• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.
• Develop and manage a high performing team.

Essential criteria includes:

• Substantial working knowledge of advice service delivery frameworks.
• Working knowledge of call handling and client record systems.
• Working knowledge of assessing the needs of individuals (e.g. social care, financial and legal) to provide appropriate advice and information.
• Substantial experience managing an advice service or similar, ideally in a health, social care or charitable organisation.
• A strong background in advice work with proven experience in an advice-giving role.

Unpaid Carers Support Southampton (UCSS) is a small team, working within Citizens Advice Southampton. There are an estimated 18,000 unpaid carers in Southampton: people who care for another adult due to illness or disability. The Role

The post holder will be part of a small team who have a shared interest in making a difference to the lives of unpaid carers throughout Southampton city. The post holder will offer front line support to unpaid carers. This will mainly be undertaken by phone, with some face-to-face work, and include carers assessments and reviews (training will be provided).They will actively listen to carers and provide them with information, advice, and support to enable them to continue living their lives to the fullest and reduce any negative impacts of their caring role. The post holder will also deliver some ‘outreach’ in the city. This might involve attending groups to talk to carers and raise awareness. They will be expected to assist with the planning and delivery of carer events eg. monthly carers lunches, and carry out other reasonable tasks in order to support Southampton’s unpaid carers.

This role is subject to a basic DBS check.

You will have experience of listening sensitively to and gathering information from people who need support. Ideally you will have experience of helping others to achieve a positive outcome.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.

With your proven knowledge of working with children and young people, families, carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you will recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of young carers and their families, including knowledge and awareness of sibling young carers and vulnerable families. You will be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of young carer’s needs, a wide range of skills in relation to service delivery to support young carers and have a sound understanding of social care provision in both statutory and voluntary sector environments.

You will be self-motivated and positive in your approach to working with both young carers, their families and team members, and have a willingness to embrace our organisational values.  Being innovative and creative, you will identify and implement a range of support mechanisms for young carers, enhancing their wellbeing and supporting them to achieve identified goals.  Strong administrative, time management, IT and organisational skills are essential.  Your ability and willingness to regularly work outside normal working hours is required.

You will cover West Essex (Harlow, Epping & Uttlesford), playing a pivotal role in supporting unpaid family carers who look after someone due to their age, disability, long-term physical or mental health condition or an addiction. You will support carers to manage the practicalities related to their caring roles and navigate support systems, alongside maintaining their own wellbeing.  You will provide carers with appropriate information, advice and guidance, from accessing benefits, peer support or respite breaks. You will mainly work in the community as well as from our offices or home.

Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, currently 10am – 4pm).

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. SANEline Support Officers provide support to callers with a wide range of mental health problems, via our confidential crisis line, SANEline that is open 365 days a year.

Fundraising Events Officer

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Start date: As soon as possible

Hours of work: Full-time, permanent.

Salary range: £22,000 - £25,000 FTE, depending on experience.

Purpose

This is an exciting and vital role supporting the delivery of the events programme within a leading mental health charity.

We are looking for someone with a love for events and a passion for supporting people wanting to raise money to make a difference for young people’s mental health. You will be an excellent communicator, highly organised, and able to work on multiple projects concurrently. You will be committed to delivering an exceptional supporter experience for our event participants and community fundraisers. Experience within the third sector is desirable but not a necessity.

As Fundraising Events Officer, your role is to support the Fundraising Events Manager to plan, deliver and review an exciting calendar of Charlie Waller fundraising events, supporting a wide range of third-party challenge events and community led activities.

Key responsibilities and duties

The Fundraising Events Officer will support the overall delivery of our varied events programme, bringing their enthusiasm to a calendar of events that aim to raise significant income for the charity, whilst also raising the charities profile and reach. They will play a key role in the delivery of well-loved annual events and support our growing network of event participants. Including but not limited to:

• Supporting the overall delivery of our events programme, working closely with the Fundraising Events Manager, Head of Fundraising and fundraising committees.
• The opportunity to take a lead role on the planning, delivery and evaluation of a number of events, managing the expenditure budget and meeting income targets.
• Maintain event income and supporter records in the database, working closely with the Fundraising Assistant and finance team on processing income and invoices.
• Support the fundraising committees with their activities, providing administrative support and guidance as needed.
• Support the promotion of our fundraising events, writing copy, building emails and supporting social activity.
• Support the development of our event marketing collateral, to support participants fundraising efforts.
• Build relationships with third-party event organisers.
• Provide regular updates on progress against agreed objectives and contribute to wider departmental fundraising reports as required.
• Represent The Charlie Waller Trust at events as required which will include ad-hoc evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.
• Monitor online fundraising, through supporting those raising funds, to creating and maintaining clear income and communication records.
• Develop excellent and enduring relationships with existing supporters, fundraisers and community groups and engage new audiences. Including recognising and supporting their fundraising efforts and thanking them appropriately.
• Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to individuals raising money for us.
• Ensure that systems and processes are used as expected, and that our database is being updated and utilised as the central source of information.
• Liaise with a wide variety of people and organisations including supporters of the charity, trainers, funders, other statutory and voluntary organisations who work in the mental health field, and members of the public.
• Ensure compliance to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant organisational policies and procedures.
• Other duties as may be reasonably prescribed by the trust, appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.
• Routine call handling as part of the wider office administrative team.

Healthwatch Milton Keynes' vision is that people's lived experiences are used to design and improve health and social care services and our mission is to champion people's rights and access to high-quality health and social care. We're seeking a project officer to deliver an exciting new project.

You’ll be interviewing patients who have been recently discharged from hospital to capture their experiences of hospital discharge and follow-up support. You’ll collate and report on their feedback, so it can be used by the teams of professionals working together to ensure discharge and post-discharge support works effectively for all. You'll have a key role in liasing with an integrated team of professionals to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the project and ongoing compliance with data processing agreements. 

We're a small, driven team with a big role. The ideal postholder will be dynamic, flexible, self-motivated and most importantly, great and building rapport and talking to patients and families about their experiences. You'll be able to demonstrate your experience of working with people, communities and the professionals that provide their care. You'll also have a track record of working to, and meeting project deadlines and show a strong understanding and experience of compliance with GDPR and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults.  

You'll present evaluations and insight and report on the impact of our work, demonstrating the positive difference Healthwatch Milton Keynes makes to its beneficiaries.

We're looking for a dynamic individual to identify, secure, and manage funding opportunities. You will work closely with our Head of Business Development & Partnerships to implement our income generation strategy. Your role will involve researching potential income generation opportunities, preparing grant proposals, managing funding applications, and maintaining donor relationships. You'll also drive forward our CRM system, leveraging data to demonstrate our impact, secure funding and support strategic decision-making.
