The role
The communications manager will play a central role in enhancing B Lab UK’s credibility by leveraging our corporate milestones, data, insights, partnerships and public affairs work to reach priority audiences. You will work closely with our campaigns team to influence policymakers and develop thought-leadership to make a compelling case for an alternative to business as usual. About the role
Area role covers: Community based - some elements of homework with travel to multiple sites and event in the Sefton area.
The Sefton Dementia Support Service provides a highly responsive and individualised information, signposting and referral service to people affected by dementia.
You will;
- Assist people with dementia and their carers to identifying their needs, provide information and guidance to help maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and put them in more control of their lives.
- Be part of a highly motivated and supportive team, sharing responsibility of some Group Activities.
- Build relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, marketing the Sefton Dementia Support Service and providing dementia support.
- Develop networks and pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless and consistent support and empowering individuals affected by dementia to make informed choices.
- Provide support face-to-face, by telephone and online.
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with an understanding of dementia and the needs of people affected by dementia.
You will;
- Be empathetic and non-judgmental in your approach with a commitment to equal opportunity.
- Have good communication skills to meet the diverse needs of our community and represent their needs to statutory and other voluntary agencies.
- Have a sound knowledge of IT systems to record data, write reports and communicate by email.
- Understand client confidentiality and how this is applied when representing client needs.
- Preferably had some experience of working with a wide variety of relevant agencies.
- Have the ability and means able to travel independently around Sefton.
- Have knowledge and experience of Adult and Children Safeguarding, Information Governance policies and procedures and statutory laws such as the Mental Capacity Act (desirable but we are happy to hear from people if they have other relevant skills and knowledge)

About the role
Location: Community based in North/East Hampshire, with some homeworking elements. Occasional cover may be needed for all areas of Hampshire.
We are currently searching for a compassionate and dedicated team member for a rewarding opportunity as a Dementia Adviser. The successful individual will have the exciting opportunity to provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers in areas of North and East Hampshire; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. Our service is unique to each service user, created upon their personal circumstances and support needs. As a Dementia Adviser, you will offer knowledgeable support and guidance to your clients, that maybe in their own home, out in the community, by phone, letter, or email. You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals. The role will also include occasionally the running of our Singing for the Brain, where you will coordinate a team of
passionate and committed volunteers and a Singing leader.
We would love to speak to people with a professional understanding of supporting people with dementia – but it’s not essential! Most importantly, we are looking for a person who wants to be part of a fantastic team creating a supportive environment to help people affected by dementia.
About you
- We are looking for an individual who possesses ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentiality.
- The role requires excellent non-judgmental communication skills, as well as great organisational and time management skills so you are able to manage your workload effectively across a wide geographical area.
- Notes, documents and personal information is logged on our database, so a good working knowledge of emails, word, excel and experience working with databases are also essential.

The conferences and special events manager is responsible for the leadership, relationship management, creative development and delivery of the charity wide events portfolio. This includes internal and external conferences, income generation and stewardship events.
Your will lead a team and work closely with senior stakeholders, internally and externally, to deliver high quality and high value events, such as gala dinners, professional stakeholder engagement events, virtual events and a golf day. The role will manage all aspects of events from concept to completion.
In addition, you will look after high value event relationships, including committees, and implementing a strategic plan to deliver and grow unrestricted income. As well as ensuring a robust and continually improving stewardship journey for all our supporters.

This is a 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to an extension in 2025.
Our youth mentor will work with young people in South Bristol and beyond. The role will see trusting relationships built between known young people in the community, support the young people and help guide them into positive provision or employment. The focus will be on the number of positive hours these young people can spend with their mentors and away from negative influences in their lives.

- Delivery of targeted 1-2-1 work with young people.

- Develop positive relationships between you and the young people to ensure you get the best outcomes.
