Prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines and opportunity to be part of a small, dynamic team, the Executive Assistant plays a key role bringing department leads together, developing papers and information for Trustees, liaising with the research community, supporting the fundraising team in their daily tasks and ensuring the highest level of accountability in the Governance of the charity. 

The role has a number of areas to fulfil: supporting research, supporting the fundraising team and supporting the Chief Executive to help the charity achieve it's ambitious operational strategy, alongside achieving it's aim of finding the cause and a cure for multiple system atrophy.

MSA Trust is a UK and Ireland-wide charity, supporting people with a life-limiting rare neurodegenerative disease. It has home based staff around the UK and a small office in central London. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the CEO and senior team to undertake their roles. 

Training and Projects Officer

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Accountable to: Project Manager (Line Manager)

Start date: As soon as possible

Hours of work: Full-time (0.8-1FTE negotiable), Monday-Friday, permanent.

Salary range: £26,000 - £28,000 FTE starting salary, depending on experience.

Purpose

This is an interesting and important position at the Trust, with the postholder taking responsibility for a range of administrative and project management tasks supporting our Education programme, working to both the Education Project Manager and the Trust’s Head of Programmes.

Our Education Programme is our body of charitable activity delivering training and resources appropriate for schools, colleges and universities, often working with education institutions to create a whole school/college approach to promote good mental health in students and staff alike.

The postholder will be the first point of contact for our training team, enabling our mental health training delivery to take place. There will be opportunities to play a key role in monitoring and evaluation, and obtain a good understanding of the sector. This is a key role in ensuring the Trust and its activities are serviced with robust, reliable and up-to-date evidence and information.

You’ll need to be confident in dealing with the charity’s delivery partners and beneficiaries, both over the telephone and face to face. You’ll enjoy working with and supporting our trainer and office teams, and be super organised and proactive. You’ll manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks as necessary, and will be comfortable communicating with a wide range of people at all levels. We have a small office team, and the successful applicant will need to be a flexible team player.

Key responsibilities and duties

• Work closely with and provide administrative support to the Education Programme.
• Support trainers with the day-to-day running of online and face-to-face courses and maintain effective communication links with the freelance trainers. The postholder is the primary office contact for the training team.
• Liaise with freelance trainers to provide logistical and technical support in the day-to-day delivery of training, Charlie Waller Trust (CWT) conferences and open access webinars.
• Project manage Webinars and E-Learning projects.
• Respond to general enquiries by phone and email on behalf of the Charitable Activities team and deal with these as appropriate.
• Participate in the planning, development, creation, and implementation of training programmes to ensure the smooth running of all courses.
• Collect data directly from colleges, universities, and schools programmes.
• Ensure proper filing of measurement and evaluation documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports and datasets.
• Assist senior leaders and the wider team in the production and maintenance of project plans and help implement project objectives from start to finish.
• Collaborate with the existing team to implement new and improved methods to capture and report on our impact.
• Maintain monitoring and evaluation data on the Trust database to ensure accurate data analysis.
• Assist with Quarterly reporting to the CEO and Trustee Board, leading on gathering statistical data from across Charitable Activities.
• Manage and support our Lived Experience Partners (including our Youth Ambassador team) alongside any other freelance trainers.
• Routine call handling as part of the wider office administrative team.

Endeavour Academy was opened by the Trust in 2014, it consists of a Endeavour School and an on-site residential home, Endeavour House. Endeavour Academy is for children and young people with autism and moderate or severe learning disabilities.  The School and the House have separate leadership structures which work in close partnership, with some roles which work across both settings. 

Endeavour House provides 6 permanent placements and 5 short break places used for respite provision.  Since opening in 2014 the children’s home has had a strong track record in OFSTED judgements, with the more recent history presenting some challenges and opportunities for development. As the home approaches its 10th anniversary we are looking for an exceptional leader to take the home through the next chapter and drive forwards improvements. 

The Role 

As Head of Care (Registered Manager) you will have overall responsibility for the management, leadership and direction of the children’s home. You will work with the support of the Responsible Individual and the Trust Central Team. 

The role will be busy and varied and you will take the operational lead for all safeguarding matters. You will also be responsible for training and supervision. You must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have a positive experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood. 

You will work in close partnership with the Principal and senior leadership team of the on-site school to ensure continuity of provision across the school and the home and the development of the 24-hour curriculum. 

About You 

You will be an inspirational and driven leader, with a strong track record of people management and ‘taking a team with you’. You will not be shy of a challenge, you will be innovative and solution focused. You will be passionate about team development and an experienced coach and mentor. 

You will have significant experience of working in a residential childcare setting, and you will have previous management experience. You will have some in-depth knowledge of have Autism and Severe Learning difficulties and experience of designing bespoke solutions to children who requires specialist support strategies to achieve excellent outcomes.

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) qualification is a bonus but not essential as we support you to enroll and complete this. Purpose

This is an exciting and vital role performing a range of finance and governance tasks, working within the Senior Leadership Team of a leading mental health charity focused on supporting children and young people.

The Head of Finance and Operations (HFO) will be responsible for the successful management of the charity finances and operations, as well as making a leading contribution to the  charity’s strategic direction.  The role is responsible to the CEO, and activity oversight spans finance, HR, IT, and office management. The HFO is also responsible to the Trustees for the financial state of the charity and as Company Secretary. As a result, the HFO must working closely with the treasurer, members of the finance and investment committee, as well as the senior leadership team and our existing finance and operation colleagues.

Strategy, modelling and leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial strategy supporting the organisation’s wider strategic plan.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

London Academy of Excellence - Stratford (LAE) is seeking to recruit a Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to help it transform the lives of scholars from disadvantaged backgrounds. The ideal candidate will join LAE with experience in a fundraising role and have a passion for education.

About this job

Please note this is a fixed term contract for one year.

Our organisation is transforming the way in which it works and the HR team will be at the heart of these changes, supporting managers and teams on a variety of projects.

You’ll have worked in a similar role at this level. You’ll have substantial experience of advising on grievances, disciplinary matters and sickness absence. In addition, you will undertake general HR administration, payroll input each month and provide cover for colleagues within the HR Operations team as and when required.
