Working within the Money Advice Service, the Senior MAS Adviser supports clients with a range of debt and welfare rights issues, providing advice and information in person, via email and on the phone. 

This includes: 

• Using independent information sources and internal tools to provide holistic debt and benefits advice, reviewing and translating complex information to clients to ensure they understand the options available to them 

• Delivering advice on a wide range of topics, such as debt, housing and welfare, in line with the Scottish National Standards 

• Analysing, interpreting and recording information to the required quality standards 

Responsibilities 

Advice Work and Support 

• Deliver advice and support to individuals and families who are using a foodbank or have used a foodbank in the past 

• Attend foodbank sessions to provide in-person advice and engage new clients 

• Deliver advice remotely by phone and email 

• Ensure accurate information and advice is given 

• Assist in audit processes 

• Attend training relevant to the Financial Inclusion sector to ensure knowledge and understanding of current legislation is up to date 

Case Management  

• Carry a specialist case load and deliver ongoing support to clients 

• Manage referrals to external agencies and partner organisations 

Project Reporting and Statistics  

• Ensure that accurate, legible and comprehensive case records are kept (in line with FCA and SNS) 

• Ensure that accurate statistics are available for reports as required 

  Other duties 

• Take responsibility for maintaining records and completing reports on work and activities as required for funders and auditors

• Adhere to the policies and procedures of Edinburgh Food Project 

• Any other reasonable tasks as requested by the senior management team

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our very busy team!

The organisation has a strong safeguarding ethos promoting the overall safety, safeguarding and welfare of all of our members. We are seeking individuals who have experience of the voluntary youth or community sector or other relevant professional field and have direct practice experience of working with children & young people in a safeguarding context.  You will have experience and knowledge of statutory requirements, understand Early Help and best practice guidance, relating to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Our safeguarding team operates centrally in London where we are responsible for providing support, advice and guidance to our volunteers relating on all safeguarding matters across the UK. Our safeguarding Officers act as our lead professionals in managing safeguarding casework in line with our policy, procedures and statutory duty.

We aim high and strive for excellence in our practices to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk.  We are continually evolving and seeking ways to improve and enhance our safeguarding practices and have a number of ambitious plans and projects to support this development as we move forward. 

Whilst this is a Monday- Friday full time position, a flexible approach to work and working patterns is a must, as is the ability to work effectively and respond appropriately in challenging circumstances.

- Support, guide and coach SCC volunteers to implement a local response to safeguarding concerns

- Effective and skilful management of an allocated caseload

Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator

Carers’ Hub works to improve carers’ lives in Lambeth through quality services and community engagement. We are an independent local charity, who work with carers aged five upwards. Whether financial, educational or otherwise, they seek to limit the challenges that carers face and achieve this by improving carer’s wellbeing, connecting carers to support and training opportunities, awareness raising and influencing local policy. We are now recruiting for a Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator to join our team.

As the Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator you will: 

• Deliver an engaging, accessible range of workshops, social activities and one to one support for our young adult carers, working to targets and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.

• Support the wider young carers service by being a first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries. 

• Develop external relationships and communications in a way that promotes the welfare of carers in Lambeth and enhances the image of the organisation. 

• Work with the Carers' Hub team to support our wider organisational objectives and helping out with events, communications and other ad hoc work.

To be considered for this role you will have experience of working with vulnerable young people and managing complex cases as well as knowledge of safeguarding protocols including referring and escalation to Children’s Social Care. Candidates with a professional qualification in health and social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions are encouraged to apply. 

Please note, this is a part-time role, 21-hours per week, ideally spread across 3 days. You will be based on site at their Brixton office, with the option of home working 1 day per week, as well as outreach/in the community. You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS for Adults and children.

JOB PURPOSE

To inspire people with mental health conditions to progress, and to gain and sustain paid employment.  Some Employment Specialists will support clients with common (mild to moderate) mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression), whilst others will support clients with more severe and enduring mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders).

Depending on what clients are right for you to work with, you will either work across the local NHS primary or secondary care network alongside NHS clinicians to secure client referrals.

To work with clients with more serious mental illness, you will need to be comfortable supporting people who have experienced / are experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as possibly other serious difficulties in their lives.  Although you will receive full training and support, it’s important you are aware of the potential impact this may have on your own mental wellbeing.

All Employment Specialists will follow the 8 principles of IPS, adhere to the IPS Fidelity Scale and achieve monthly targets and KPIs with the required administration and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Engage a caseload of clients with mental health problems and establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them into employment in line with contract targets and IPS fidelity.

2. Assess clients’ employment support needs; implementing and adjusting employment plans as necessary to support each client’s desired outcomes along IPS requirements.

3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to meet clients’ needs including career guidance, job searching, CV preparation, interview skills, individual coping techniques or work coaching.

4. Build a constant flow of referrals to ensure a dynamic caseload.

5. Conduct weekly employer engagement activity in line with IPS Fidelity.

6. Understand the complex issues a client may face, recognise holistic support needs and work in conjunction with clinical staff.

7. Facilitate access to expert financial advice on welfare benefits and ‘access to work’ resources.

8. Provide support and reasonable adjustments if required, to employed clients to support them to stay and progress in work.

9. As requested, attend clinical team meetings to provide advice and information on employment and IPS.

10. Collaborate with community partners to raise awareness of employment and mental health issues and promote access to the service.

11. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.

12. Update and maintain NHS database (IAPTus).

13. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.

14. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.

AIM OF ROLE:
The aim of the requalification caseworker is to work with clients that apply to our requalification, loan and employment programme. This includes processing loan applications and conducting loan interviews, loan administration, client casework and supporting relationships with professional bodies. You will develop learning plans, attend sector-specific events, network to build a robust toolbox of support for clients, research pathways and offer advice and guidance to prospective clients, current clients and other programmes within RefuAid.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Casework; directly working with clients from loan application to loan repayment - conducting check-ins and supporting clients with re-qualification, loan and other related issues.
● Casework; ensuring clients are well supported and signposting or referring to support services where required.
● Providing guidance and career advice - overlooking CVs, supporting job interview preparation and searches, sending tailored resources, writing references and signposting.
● Meeting clients face to face whether in the office or visiting loan and re-qualification recipients all over the UK - this can be a mixture of London-based and national.
● Researching suitable employment and education pathways - outreaching to professional bodies and employers to ask for sector-specific advice where necessary, creating new relationships with as-of-yet unexplored fields.
● Working with the requalification lead to assess loan applications using a character-based model.
● Processing loans and travel payments to clients.
● Working closely with the loan administrator to ensure a seamless journey from initial application to full repayment - contacting our loan administrators where necessary.
● Supporting relationships with professional bodies.
● Working closely with all other RefuAid programmes to ensure holistic support for clients and supporting a streamlined referral process.
● Ensuring that all information is recorded accurately and that databases remain up to date.
● Attending sector-specific events to raise awareness of our work, and following the strategy to best-support RefuAid’s clients.

Working across the People team the People and Talent Coordinator is an essential for the organisation, contributing to the long- term development and performance of the People directorate.  The postholder will have excellent communications skills, a keen eye for detail and an ability to work on their own initiative in a fast-paced environment. The role provides technical expertise and support on Talent, People and L&D related matters, including actively supporting the end- to- end recruitment for all posts, using ATS/HRIS systems, strong contribution towards inductions and DBS checks. The role also provides the key point of contact for staff on day-to-day routine HR questions and queries, and hands-on interaction and delivery of L&D initiatives.

About You:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the skills and attributes set out in the persons specification. We are seeking a self- starter who can seamlessly coordinate tasks with competing priorities. HR knowledge is a bonus, however demonstration of a proven track record of working in a busy environment, delivering to deadlines and cross sectional working puts you in a good position.

You will bring operational working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, and Mailchimp. Ideally you come from or have a HR background and have worked in the voluntary sector and if not, you are able to demonstrate your transferable skill set showcasing your excellent ability to undertake this role.

About the Suzy Lamplugh Trust

Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK’s pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority. We were established in 1986 following the disappearance of 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent and lone worker who went to meet a client and never returned. The Trust exists so that what happened to Suzy does not happen to anyone else. For the past 37 years, we have worked towards reducing the risk of harassment, stalking, aggression, and violence. Our Stalking Helpline offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year, while our bespoke advocacy teams work closely with partners across the Violence Against Women and Girls’ (VAWG) sector, the criminal justice system, and both statutory and non-statutory services to ensure our clients can live a live free from abuse and fear.

You will be working alongside a team of advocates who are dedicated to supporting and empowering victims and survivors of stalking. By working with a caseload of 20- 25 clients, you will have the opportunity to provide holistic and bespoke advocacy to your clients, whilst leveraging your knowledge of gender-based abuse to support the Trust’s specialist mission.

Purpose of Role:

· To provide expert advice and advocacy to victims of stalking.

· To provide guidance and support by telephone, email and face-to-face to those affected by stalking.

· To provide casework support and advocacy to victims of stalking, liaising with both voluntary and statutory services to ensure positive outcomes for victims. 

· To support the operational Team Leaders where required.

Fundraising Officer – Grants and Events

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Finally, you are self-motivated and energetic, as well as passionate about making sure disadvantaged groups across West London get the opportunity to improve their highly challenging lives. Ideally you will have a driver's licence and use of a car, but this is not essential.

Look Ahead IDVA Managers provide a high-quality safe service to those at highest risk of domestic abuse.

The post holder will be responsible for leading a team that keeps the safety of victims of domestic abuse at the core of all processes. You will have overall responsibility for all clients accessing the service. The post holder will have good knowledge of the criminal justice system and an understanding of Marac protocols.

The manager will also raise awareness of male domestic abuse.

This role is a one year Fixed Term Contract.

What you'll do:

Managing all referrals and allocating to the most appropriate IDVA according to current caseloads.
Co working complex cases.
Regular attendance at MARAC in order to advocate for clients by the sharing of information and risk management and ensuring Marac research and actions are recorded correctly.
Ensuring ongoing partnership working with services referring into the IDVA team.
Ensure the service adapts to work with a diverse cohort of survivors.
Ensuring all recording is completed including outcomes and closures in a timely manner.
Developing multi agency partnerships with statutory and non-statutory partners in the sector.
Carrying out regular supervisions with the IDVA team.
Carrying out regular Casework Management with all IDVA staff.
Completion of monthly case file audit.
Oversight and management of IDVA caseloads in accordance with Safelives guidance.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

Salary: £31,200 - £34,736
