Salary: Unqualified £27,582.75 – £29,174.06 Per annum, pro-rated to £13,791.38 - £14,586.53 based on working 18.75 hours per week.

Qualified (with an accredited VAWG /domestic abuse qualification) £29,174.06 – £31,826.25 Per annum, pro-rated to £14,586.53 - £15,913.13 based on working 18.75 hours per week.

(Candidates will usually be appointed at the bottom of the relevant scale.)

About the Service

The Bexley Solace Advocacy and Support Service (SASS) is a team made up of specialist IDVAs. We work with all levels of risk and work closely with our partner agencies to ensure victims/survivors of domestic abuse receive a good standard of service.

About the Role

The Duty Worker acts as the first point of contact for service users and professionals accessing the Bexley SASS service. As the Duty Worker you will be responsible for processing new referrals, undertaking assessments with survivors of abuse and providing ongoing support to a small caseload of standard to medium risk survivors.

About You

The ideal candidate would have demonstrable experience of working with those affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of a diverse and vulnerable client group.

You will have some knowledge of housing, welfare and policy relating to domestic/sexual violence, as well as excellent administrative and time management skills; including multi-tasking and using excel.

You will also have the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

You will have a good understanding of the causes and dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse, including its impact on victims/survivors,. A flexible approach to your work and a commitment to the values of Solace Women’s Aid is essential.
