This can mean at times we have to work harder to secure their trust and build relationships with them. The experiences these young people have had in their lives means they can feel frustrated, angry, and upset. We need someone committed to showing care, respect, patience and understanding, someone who understands that challenging behaviour can be a demonstration of the impact of multiple traumas.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and capable individual to join as a Lifeline Caseworker for our South East service, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a 12-month fixed term contract and in return you will receive a salary of up to £26,796 per annum plus excellent benefits.

You will be based at our National Cat Adoption Centre, in Chelwood Gate with frequent travel across the South East. Cats Protection is operating a system of hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from home when appropriate. This can be discussed further at interview stage.

Cats Protection’s Lifeline is a pet fostering service for anyone fleeing domestic abuse. The majority of our referrals come from women fleeing domestic abuse via women-only services. The service places cats into volunteer foster homes on a temporary basis until their owners can be reunited with them. 

Due to the nature of this role, this post is for women only and is exempt under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

Responsibilities of our Lifeline Caseworker:

As our Lifeline Caseworker, you will be involved with assessing referrals and admitting cats onto the service, providing pet advice and support to our volunteer foster carers and working with other stakeholders such as pet owners, domestic abuse support services, and internal Cats Protection employees or other agencies. As a human-benefit service, there is minimal cat handling involved, the role includes extensive communication via phone, email and in person, as well as daily admin and extensive driving.

What we’re looking for in our Lifeline Caseworker:

• good all-round experience of performing administrative duties in a busy service
• previous professional experience giving pet care advice
• previous experience in a public facing role
• an understanding of the problems experienced by families fleeing domestic abuse with pets
• a confident self-starter who has had experience of working with volunteers and home visiting
• a full, clean, manual UK driving licence
• good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• experience of working in the animal welfare sector and of being able to provide basic cat welfare and behaviour advice would be highly desirable

About the role

Provide casework support to members of our community who need help with accessing housing, education, training and employment, benefits or asylum support, destitution and financial support, and support with accessing good immigration and asylum legal support. You will work closely with two other caseworkers, and a team of therapists. This role also includes supporting community activities during the week.

About the role:

This role is home working based with travel in the London Area.

As a Homicide Service Children's and Young People caseworker you will be:

• Delivering a specialist service to children and young people (CYP) bereaved by homicide, and for those CYP who have witnessed a homicide.
• Working collaboratively and jointly within the Homicide Service and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs and ensure that young people are central to all processes that involve them.
• Acting as the designated caseworker and manage a caseload
• Implementing the CYP Homicide Service Delivery Model
• Work closely and support colleagues to provide a trauma informed service to children and young people.

You will be responsible for providing a high-quality, front-line service to bereaved young people following murder or manslaughter. Working with colleagues in the National Homicide Service, as well as partner agencies including education, police, courts, social services and many other statutory and third sector organisations.

You will need to be able to travel to face to face sessions within, and occasionally outside of region. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

About the role:

This role is based in Portsmouth, operating as a hybrid working model with three days in the office, and two working from home. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will:

• Focus on victims of domestic abuse, providing a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support
• Support victims face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them & their family safe
• Develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs & risk assessment

About the role:

This role is based in Norwich, as a Case Manager you will be:

Providing a high quality, end-to-end support service to the most vulnerable victims of complex crimes in particular Domestic Abuse. To act as the single point of contact for victims through the criminal justice and recovery process, delivering support and interventions where required, acting as an advocate on behalf of the victim and coordinating the support services required by external agencies

You will need:

• Experience of delivering high quality services to vulnerable victims of crime.
• A good knowledge of the Criminal Justice System.
• Experience of Multi-agency working.
• Good IT skills and experience of using case management systems.
• Good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and the relevant policies.
• Strong communication and listening skills with an ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to prioritise, plan and manage time effectively.
• Experience of delivering a service and working with DA victim's/service users.

This role will involve hybrid working from home and WGN offices, as well as travel across London and community based working as determined by service user and service delivery requirements.

We are now looking for looking for an experienced and dynamic Pan-London Specialist Housing Caseworker to join our highly successful Advice Casework Service.

About the role

The Advice Casework Service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, woman-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy and advice that supports survivors on their unique journey of healing and growth. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors, and Caseworkers play a key role in identifying current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.

As a Caseworker you will work with young women (18-30) who have experienced any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing medium and long-term practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will amplify young women’s voices and create a non-judgemental and creative space where survivors are free to be their authentic selves, safely explore their rights, options and impact of their experiences, and make informed choices about their future. You will manage a caseload of young women, as well as lead in delivering our one-off drop-in specialist practical support to sessions to young women as part of the Voice and Choice Project.

About you

The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing specialist advocacy support to young people, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and to be passionate about delivering creative face-to-face sessions to young people. If you have the required skills and are passionate about supporting survivors, we would love to hear from you.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

Salary: £31,200 - £34,736
