The post-holder will provide a national phone, email and online housing advice service to people in housing need across Wales.
During the current period of uncertainty around Covid-19, the team are temporarily working remotely, however following any general return to office working the post will be based at one of our offices in Wales.

The Amber Project provides help and support to young people (12-25) who have experience of self harm. We can offer help in a number of different ways including counselling, Friday evening workshops, theatre workshops, and informal support. We are totally inclusive and work with children and young people from all faiths and no faith, and this diversity is reflected in our team.
We provide Activity Based Workshops, Theatre Workshops, Counselling and One to One Support. Our workshops open to young people aged 12 to 17 years, and 17 to 25 years, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, religion. Activities can include music workshops, cooking, trips, arts & craft, and group discussions.
As a part time Support Worker, covering maternity leave you will be working with young people aged 12-25 years old who have experience of self-harm. You will play a key role in providing them with one to one support and advocacy both on a one-to-one basis and within a group setting; working with them to develop their emotional skills which will allow them to cope more effectively with the difficulties in their lives. The nature of the work means role, and successful candidate, must focus on inclusivity for the young people.
The successful candidate will have considerable experience in working with young people aged 12-25 and will enjoy the challenge of working with adolescents in difficult circumstances. You will need to be able to work within a non-discriminatory framework, ensuring the services are provided in a qualitative, responsive and accessible manner. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, you will need to be able to engage in remote working, connecting with the young people by phone and video-conferencing.

Age Cymru are recruiting for a full-time Dementia Advocate promote and deliver independent advocacy to people with dementia or their carers in the Cardiff/Vale of Glamorgan area. During the current Covid-19 pandemic all Age Cymru staff will be working from home until it is safe to work from an office base and in line with Welsh Government Guidance.

The IPA will need to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse and wider VAWDASV issues. Delivering a range of crisis intervention, early intervention and prevention work, intensive support, and accommodation-based support. Please note the service is 24/7 so we need people who can and will work outside normal office hours.

Live Well with Hearing Loss is a three year project funded by the Welsh Government under the Sustainable Social Services Grant which started in April 2020. The project has three strands, the At Home Service, the Befriending Service and the Post Diagnostic Service.
The Post Diagnostic service gives early intervention support to those who are newly diagnosed with hearing loss. The Post Diagnostic Adviser will share tips and strategies and demonstrate equipment over 3 sessions to facilitate independence and wellbeing. The service is delivered within the Audiology clinic at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, but due to COVID-19 is currently offered remotely.

The Role

Key responsibilities
Provide 24/7 cover within the organisations Intake & Assessment property on a rota basis
Welcome new clients into the organisations accommodation-based support facilities
Complete a comprehensive induction with all new residents
Ensure all housing benefit forms are completed within a timely manner
Support the IPA with a caseload of diverse risk and need to ensure all women and children, whenever possible are supported through their journey by the same worker
Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
Person specification
Have a good understanding of domestic violence/ abuse including the impact of domestic violence/ abuse on victims and their children.
Have theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
Understand child protection issues, how to respond to effectively safeguard, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic violence/ abuse and their children.
Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
Working with vulnerable people, including families and/ or children.
The post-holder is expected to work flexibly between 00:00hrs 23:59hrs Monday-Sunday.
