About the role:
This role is home based, but will include some travel nationally, and some overnight stays.
As a Peer Support Coordinator you will: -
Manage a number of Peer Support volunteers who have lived experience of bereavement through homicide. You will support them to use their experience to help others who are also bereaved. This will involve monthly supervisions and regular communication to ensure they are up to date with service procedures and developments.
You will have experience of working in a trauma-informed way, with empathy and compassion. You will have good personal resilience, and be able to make effective use of supervisions to manage your wellbeing.
You will have a passion for using digital technology to make support accessible for people. You will take the lead on maintaining our secure online chat room by working with a group of volunteer supporters. You will also be key in the planning and organisation of our online support groups. Strong digital skills and enthusiasm for digital working is essential.
You will need: -
Knowledge of the impact of bereavement through homicide or the psychological impact of significant trauma resulting from a distressing event
Proven ability to work digitally in creative and appropriate ways to engage with service users and/or peer supporters
Confidence in using Microsoft Word, basic Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to use client databases
Ability to work on own initiative with good time management skills, prioritise work load, and make use of clinical supervision

Information and support for those affected by sarcoma is at the heart of our charitable objectives. Support
In February 2016 we launched our nurse-led Support Line. We have answered over 13,000 queries from patients, carers, family members, friends, and health professionals. We are independent and confidential, offering time and a listening ear, and help people to find the right answers for them. We help regional and national peer support groups to run effectively across the UK. These groups offer a lifeline to people affected by sarcoma. We offer annual grants to each group, attend group meetings to give presentations, provide speakers and give support and advice to group leaders.
Information
Sarcoma UK provides health information to those affected by sarcoma, their families and friends. Our range of patient guides cover diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and many other issues faced by those affected by sarcoma. Our information is very well received by patients and health professionals.
In March 2018 we launched the Sarcoma Clinical Trials Hub on our website. It is an accessible way for the sarcoma community to find out about sarcoma clinical trials in the UK.
Sarcoma UK aims to produce the highest quality information for the sarcoma community. We work in line with NHS England’s certification scheme, The Information Standard, to ensure the information we produce is clear and reflects the most up to date clinical guidance. We involve sarcoma experts and people with personal experience of sarcoma as reviewers of our information to ensure our information is accurate and relevant to our target audience.
Support Line Advisor
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

The Role

About You
The successful candidate would ideally hold an NVQ 3 or other professional qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance or in a related field and with a strong knowledge of working in compliance with safer working guidance and legislation. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and the IT skills necessary to undertake all administrative and reporting requirements. You will possess literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to support people around employment matters. You will be able to positively engage and understand the educational and employment needs of disadvantaged people through past appointments.
You will have strong knowledge and understanding of the importance of working in an equal opportunity and anti-oppressive framework and a willingness to put this in to practice.

Adviser – National Food Bank Telephone Helpline (Help through Hardship project)
Citizens Advice, in partnership with The Trussell Trust, provides an award winning freephone helpline for people who need help to obtain a food parcel from their local food bank. As part of the process, it provides information and advice on the issues that are causing financial hardship in order to move the client forward. The helpline is managed by generalist advisers from local Citizens Advice across England and Wales.
Citizens Advice Hammersmith & Fulham have been involved with the project since the start and now has the opportunity to expand our team of advisers.
Role:
- Establish that the client cannot afford food by carrying out a full exploration of the cause of financial hardship and give information and advice on the issues identified
- Establish if there is a local foodbank in their area and issue foodbank voucher where appropriate
- Signpost to local services if there is no local food bank in their area accepting e-vouchers
- Write up case notes to Citizens Advice national standards
The Helpline Advisers are provided with close support from our Supervisors, have access to our wealth of resources and are an integral part of the Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham team. NEA’s Energy Advisors are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive and confident. Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups. They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities. Energy Advisors sit within the Operations Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.
Whilst experience of providing advice to householders and knowledge of energy efficiency would be advantageous, they are not essential as NEA will provide full training to the successful candidate.

About the role:

Specific Responsibilities
Engagement
- Support the National Nova Manager to create and maintain strong working relationships with referring organisations in North Yorkshire and North East Area, including the Police and NHS Liaison and Diversion.
- Receive details of referrals from the Nova Client Advisors, or directly. If referrals are received directly share information with the Nova Client Advisors.
- Engage with veterans face-to-face for the initial visit and as necessary throughout their engagement with Project Nova, following the Case Management Guidance, RFEA Policies and the Project Nova Procedures.
- Register each Nova Veteran’s details on the CRM and obtain consent to share their data with organisations in the support network and any further information required by the Project Nova registration.
- Undertake a comprehensive needs assessment with each Nova Veteran.
Case Management
- Provide emotional support to veterans through regular contact whilst they are engaged with Project Nova.
- Establish a care coordination plan with each Nova Veteran that provides for support from within RFEA and Walking with the Wounded and with the organisations in the Nova area support Network.
- Work with families to ensure their effective participation in the Criminal Justice System, with other statutory services and with the support network.
- Keep clear records for each case on the CRM.
- Record the veterans journey on Outcome Star
- Ensure confidentiality, the family is a separate case to the veteran, who is also supported by Project Nova.
- When the Nova Veteran is ready, develop their employability and suitable opportunities for employment either, directly using RFEA employability tools and working with local employers or, through the wider RFEA or Walking With The Wounded.
- Project Nova is an active intervention. Close cases once the progress of Nova Veterans has reached its full potential, identifying long term social contact, formal or informal, in every case.
Person Specification
Essential Competencies
- Highly motivated and independent, capable of working remotely across a wide geographical area.
- Resilient and able to work with individuals with complex needs and cope with the rigors that arise from working with veterans in the criminal justice system.
- Commitment to working with each veteran without prejudice and in an equitable manner, including those who are arrested for violent or sexual offences.

Who you are
We are embarking on an exciting period of expansion with the creation of a number of new roles across the country which will involve the face-to-face provision of emotional and practical support to bereaved or seriously injured people. We need energised, self- starters who are passionate about helping others, to join our fantastic team.
We are looking for people who have a background in providing emotional support and practical research and advocacy for vulnerable people after a serious psychological trauma such as the death of a loved one in violent circumstances.
Specifically we are seeking candidates with:
- experience of frontline care for people in crisis with acute vulnerabilities and risks.

- significant resilience, and willingness to be professionally developed and clinically supervised.

About the Role:
The Mentoring Coordinator (ETE) is responsible for providing support, guidance, training and development opportunities to volunteers working in the Probation ETE service. Volunteer and Peer Support Mentors (people with lived experience of the justice system) will support and mentor referred service users to successfully engage with education, training, volunteering and/or employment, working alongside Maximus caseworkers and other partners working within the criminal justice system.
Responsibilities:
The Mentoring Coordinator will manage a pool of 10 volunteers and 5 Peer Support Mentors, ensuring that they are supported and encouraged to engage actively in their volunteering activity and that we are able to provide support to assist engagement in ETE activities, mentoring to help attend appointments and in work support for the most vulnerable service users . The Mentoring Coordinator (ETE) is responsible for working towards service delivery targets and providing information to evidence delivery and outcomes.

Sands is the leading stillbirth and neonatal death charity and exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth.
We are looking to recruit an outstanding and people-focused candidate to lead our Bereavement Support Services Team. This is a high-profile role which is responsible for ensuring that all those approaching Sands for support receive an excellent service that meets their individual needs, that the quality of support provided remains consistently high and all team members are appropriately managed and supported. The role provides an opportunity to make real change by driving the organisational and team strategies to make the support that Sands provides accessible to bereaved families from all backgrounds within the community, as well as groups at higher risk of experiencing stillbirth and neonatal death.
With demonstrable experience of delivering and managing bereavement support services at a strategic level, you will possess an excellent understanding of grief theory and bereavement support and be qualified accordingly. Additionally, you will have experience of working with, and providing services to diverse communities and have a good understanding of their specific needs.

We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to take responsibility for the landlord functions of a number of properties within our Housing Management Service. For this role, the successful candidate must hold a full driving licence, have use of a car and be prepared to cover a geographical area within the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area.
The post holder will provide an effective, customer focused service to tenants, particularly focusing on dealing with: Anti-social behaviour and tenancy management, improving income, ensuring properties are maintained to a good standard, dealing with housing related court action, working closely with support providers to prevent eviction, and engaging with local communities including the Police, ASB teams and neighbours.
The successful candidate needs experience of working in a housing management role and should ideally be able to demonstrate the following:
• A proven track record of dealing with allocations, sign ups and ending of tenancies
• Experience of carrying out property inspections
• Experience of managing tenancies, in relation to when they are breached and enforcing their terms
• An understanding of housing law and the landlord/tenant relationship
• An understanding of some of the issues faced by vulnerable people and knowledge
of agencies who can help address those issues
• Experience of working with support providers in an accommodation setting
• A qualification in Housing Management or similar level 4 (or a willingness to obtain one with Framework support)

You will provide structured bereavement support directly to children and young people through a range of channels including remote, digital, and face-to-face from our offices, community venues and (when appropriate or required) through home visits across the UK.
