About this key role

Our successful candidate will work one-to-one with young people to understand their individual needs, strengths, and challenges, creating tailored support plans that incorporate neurodiversity-informed approaches. You will conduct robust risk and strengths-based needs assessments, prioritising safeguarding and ensuring appropriate interventions and escalation of risks, plus develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

We will also count on you to make appropriate referrals and signposting to specialist neurodiverse support services and community resources and to advocate with education, health, and social care providers for reasonable adjustments, tailored support, and inclusion for neurodiverse young people.  Accurately recording all aspects of work, including action plans, outcomes, and session data, ensuring high-quality case recording, is also an important element of this role, as is efficiently closing cases, identifying appropriate referral routes for ongoing support and crisis management.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience working with children, young people, and/or vulnerable adults, delivering effective interventions that have resulted in positive outcomes
• Experience independently addressing safeguarding issues with children, young people, and adults at risk of violence or exploitation
• Skilled in conducting thorough risk assessments and identifying the needs of young people at risk of significant harm
• Extensive experience of managing a caseload of clients presenting with support needs and achieving set targets for employment outcomes with sensitivity to diverse needs and trauma

SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis as a result of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice (SLRA is regulated to provide advice at IAA Level 3) as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. SLRA also campaigns for a fairer immigration system, involving local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.

As Advocacy Manager (maternity cover), you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services for survivors of sexual violence, particularly those engaging with or considering engagement with the criminal justice system. You will manage a team of ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advocates), Caseworkers, and our Advocacy Operations Administrator, ensuring excellence in recruitment, induction, and training.
 

Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will play a key leadership role within our organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues across our frontline services and our training and prevention teams.

About the role 

At the heart of our operations, our exceptional Regional Casework Coordinators serve as the primary point of contact for members of the armed forces community reaching out to our Regional Offices for support.

In this dynamic role, no two days are the same. You may be supporting individuals in distress over the phone, managing email and voicemail communications, collaborating with volunteers on complex casework, building strong relationships with local authorities and charitable organisations, or working closely with internal services to secure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support them. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensuring that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the East of England region in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, or Essex.

You will occasionally be required to travel around the region or further afield, to attend face to face meetings or training events.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. You will initially be required to attend an in-person caseworkers’ course which may require an overnight stay.

About the team 

Reporting to the Regional Casework Manager our Casework Coordinators, together with our Volunteer Caseworkers, work remotely within the regional office area.  With beneficiaries at the heart of everything we do, team members pride themselves in building and maintaining close working relationships to ensure the smooth operation of the office.  The wider regional support team includes a Regional Manager, Volunteer Development Manager and a Community Engagement Manager.

About the roles:

These roles offer flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London as required. You will work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some evening and weekend working on occasion dependent upon client need.

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, then tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, to explain our services, and assess the impact of crime.

Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users. You will need to be able to manage a demanding workload, travel to appointments with clients and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred & referred service users, providing information & advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk & needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support & information.

Finance Coordinator is a new role to support our expanding services.

This newly created role will form part of our Finance Team. As a member of a small but dynamic team, you will work closely with the Senior Finance Officer and Head of Finance. Your role will be critical to our success, with your principal responsibilities including:

• processing purchase ledger invoices
• inputting bank and all financial transactions onto the Xero accounting system
• recording donations to Xero accounting system
• reconciling donations, stewardship and CAF transactions with Xero
• reconciling cheques, standing orders and Stripe transactions with Xero
• processing the weekly payment runs ensuring that all payments are paid on time
• processing staff and volunteer expenses

You will have the support of our excellent and established Finance Team, which is central to the smooth and effective running of our operations. You will be responsible for liaising with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, as well as our Trustees, partners and suppliers.
