The role focuses on building positive and supportive relationships with women and their children, empowering them to work towards their goals through a strengths-based approach. This includes creating, implementing, and reviewing personalised support plans in collaboration with service users and external agencies, while also advocating on their behalf when needed. Ensuring the safeguarding of children and maintaining confidentiality at all times are central to the role, alongside working within relevant policies and procedures.

Service users and children are encouraged to actively participate in shaping projects through consultations, feedback, and creative engagement. Here's what the team will be looking for

The Role
The CEO will be accountable to the talented and committed Board of Trustees and be responsible for the overall strategic management, leadership, and development of Harrogate Neighbours. Duties will include:
- Ensuring the development and implementation of integrated strategies across care, housing, operations, finance, marketing and communications, human resources and workforce, information management and technology, estates and performance monitoring, management and reporting.
- Providing overall leadership for Harrogate Neighbours in line with the vision, mission and values agreed by the Board of Trustees.
- Providing strategic leadership for fundraising and income diversification, ensuring the organisation has a sustainable and mixed portfolio of income.
- Developing and maintaining positive collaborative partnership arrangements with commissioners, local authorities, local communities, MPs, the voluntary sector, communities and other key partners and stakeholders.
- Overseeing the financial processes for the organisation and leading delivery of the agreed budgets.

Overview
FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
This exciting post will be working with children who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people, whilst working proactively with other professionals, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.
FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.
This role may include evening and weekend work when required. It is fixed term until October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of low to high risk children and young people, predominantly through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies and group work.
- Plan, recruit and deliver group work interventions for children and young people alongside colleagues.
- Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
- Assess the needs of the child and devise appropriate support and safety plans with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.
- Proactively engage with children and young people affected by DA/SV by providing therapeutic sessions tailed to their needs in where they are in their recovery journey.
- Risk assess and follow FearFree safety procedures to ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.
- Actively support carers and parents in how to support their CYP affected by trauma. This may include working together to ensure the child is support at every stage in their recovery journey.
- Respond to emergencies and crises with a focus on the child’s wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Provide child-centred, trauma responsive support to all your cases taking in considering different learning needs, to empower the young person to make informed choices.
- Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
- Keeping the child’s voice central to all support and decision making wherever possible: taking the time to talk through and work with the individual child’s understanding around safeguarding and why we need to share certain things.
- Act as duty officer, responding to incoming calls, logging referrals and making assigned outgoing calls, according to the duty rota.
- Work effectively within a multi-agency framework, consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse and sexual violence, in order to reduce the risk for service users and their families.
- Be proactive with your line manager to carry out periodic case reviews.
- Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services work in, and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all.

The Cathedral has a particular responsibility to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Cathedral community. It shares this responsibility with the Diocese of St Albans. This work is wide‑ranging, and the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) plays a central role in maintaining good safeguarding practice.
This part‑time role (15 hours per week) becomes vacant as the current postholder retires after four years, with time planned for handover with the person appointed to the role now. The CSO works with senior staff and the governing body to help lead policy development, training, reporting, and compliance with Church of England guidance. They report to the Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care and receive regular professional supervision from the National Safeguarding Team, with occasional networking with other CSOs.
Safeguarding is recognised as a shared leadership responsibility. The CSO meets weekly with senior clergy to review cases and will also work with the newly appointed non‑executive Safeguarding Lead on Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body.
A core part of the role is promoting safeguarding awareness across the Cathedral community and understanding all activities involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The CSO provides professional advice on concerns raised, ensuring responses follow law and national policy, and works closely with diocesan and national safeguarding teams on complex cases. They also ensure appropriate support for survivors and proper management of those who pose risk.
About You
The Cathedral is seeking candidates with strong knowledge and professional experience in relation to safeguarding issues and proven experience working collaboratively in teams.
The post will require some flexibility in working patterns and will therefore require occasional weekend working and the ability to respond to urgent cases.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification and relevant experience and expertise in child and/or adult protection.

the3million is the largest grassroots organisation for EU citizens in the UK, formed after the 2016 referendum to protect the rights of people who have made the UK their home.
Our work ranges from organising EU citizens’ communities and informing people about their rights, to holding the Government to account on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement and advocating for social justice.
We are looking for an experienced and values-driven Community Organiser to lead the delivery of EU Voices, a project aimed at strengthening EU citizens’ communities in the UK through capacity building of civil society organisations (CSOs) and delivering a programme of engagement events and campaigns directly with EU citizens.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about social justice and migrants’ rights, able to plan, deliver and evaluate community engagement events, while also playing a key role in liaising with CSOs and delivering a programme of capacity building activities, enabling networks to be more effective and strategic in making change happen. The role requires strong experience in community organising, participatory approaches and working with diverse, grassroots-led CSOs.
Key responsibilities
1. Community organising and civic engagement
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project’s community organising strategy, working closely with the3million’s other Community Organisers to deliver a cohesive programme of opportunities.
- Plan, organise and facilitate listening sessions with EU citizens’ communities in partnership with local grassroots organisations.
- Deliver outreach activities at cultural, educational and community events, including stalls promoting the project and voter registration drives.
- Design and facilitate intercultural dialogue events that build bridges between EU citizens and British residents.
- Ensure all community engagement activities are inclusive, participatory and grounded in lived experience.
- Work with the Communications Manager to effectively promote the project in the media and the3million’s website, newsletter and social media as appropriate.
2. Capacity building for CSOs
- Lead the delivery of capacity building activities for EU citizens’ organisations, coordinating with fundraising, communications and anti-oppressive practices training providers.
- Work closely with grassroots CSOs providing one to one guidance and support, including on organising local engagement events.
- Support CSOs to deliver and implement community organising plans and deliver local outreach and campaigning events.
3. Coordination and project management
- Act as the main point of contact for the3million within the EU Voices consortium, working closely with the Project Coordinator and partners.
- Coordinate activities to ensure coherence, timely delivery and alignment with project objectives and indicators.
- Lead on project planning, internal coordination meetings, and risk management.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning processes, including the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from community activities.
4. Stakeholder engagement
- Work with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to ensure community insights and grassroots priorities inform and lead the3million’s advocacy.
- Support the3million’s policy-focused webinars and engagement with UK and EU decision-makers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of external stakeholders including grassroots community leaders and CSOs.
5. Reporting and documentation
- Lead on the3million’s narrative reporting for EU funders, including event reports, progress updates and evidence of impact.
- Ensure accurate documentation of activities, participant engagement and outcomes in line with EU funding and visibility requirements.
- Support the production of case studies, testimonials and stories of impact from participating CSOs.
6. General responsibilities
- Represent the views of the3million at events, conferences and in the media, as appropriate.
- Provide assistance in other areas of the3million’s work as and when deemed necessary by the CEO.
Person specifications
Knowledge and experience:
- Significant experience (minimum 3 years) in community organising, grassroots mobilisation or community development.
- Proven experience working directly with EU citizens or other minoritised, racialised or migrant communities.
- Strong understanding of participatory, rights-based and inclusive organising approaches.
- Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and partners.
- Experience of working with people from different backgrounds, including different language skills, cultures/ethnicities, ages, etc. Comfortable interacting with people who hold different opinions with a view to build mutual understanding and solidarity.
Skills:
- Excellent facilitation skills (experience of running workshops, events, stakeholder meetings)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing funding reports, ability to write clear emails with compelling calls to action and the confidence to speak in public settings
- Familiarity with anti-oppression practices (which can include anti-racism, co-liberatory and intersectional principles) and ability to apply them in practice (centering the voices of racialised, minoritised and under-represented community members in project design and implementation)

We’re looking for someone to join Settle in a new and exciting role, working to grow and develop our community of young people and oversee the coordination of our participation work, sometimes referred to as youth involvement or lived-experience involvement.
We believe that lived experience would be particularly valuable to this role so applicants with experience of the care system are strongly encouraged to apply. As Senior Community and Participation Officer you will play a key part in creating strong two-way communication with young people, increasing engagement in our community programme and helping to improve our offer through feedback. You will lead in designing, coordinating and facilitating community workshops and getting to know our community of young people. You will work closely with other teams across the organisation to support them to coordinate involvement and participation opportunities for our Settle Community as well as young people who are active on the programme.
We are looking for a compassionate and collaborative individual who has previously led or been involved in community organising or the development and management of communities of interest and shared action. You will have a good understanding of the needs of care experienced young people and will feel comfortable managing risk and safeguarding concerns to ensure that the young people you are working with receive high quality support.
You’ll feel comfortable working with people from a range of backgrounds and will enjoy building relationships with colleagues and organisations outside the direct Settle team. You are a great connector, able to draw connections between the stakeholders you are building relationships with to source opportunities for the different ways they could engage with the Settle Community and the wider organisation. You will utilise creative thinking to ensure our community offer is engaging and of value to the Settle Community.

As a Financial Accountant within our Finance & Assurance directorate, you'll be part of a team that's transforming how we deliver financial partnership across the organisation. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you'll own and improve our tax function. You'll be responsible for the essential technical delivery, preparing VAT returns, managing partial exemption calculations, overseeing Corporation Tax and Gift Aid. Ensuring we meet every regulatory requirement. But what sets this role apart is the opportunity to transform how we deliver this work. About you:
You're a qualified accountant with strong process improvement experience who thrives on identifying inefficiencies and implementing better ways of working. You're excited by the prospect of shaping an entire area within a finance function.
You're a problem-solver who constantly asks, "how can we do this better?" You have a genuine curiosity about how things work and a drive to continuously improve. Existing knowledge of VAT compliance, particularly partial exemption, would be beneficial, as would broader familiarity with Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, and other statutory obligations. However, what matters most is your appetite to learn and your determination to find better ways forward.
You'll have:
- Proven experience driving process improvements in a finance environment, demonstrating where you've identified inefficiencies, redesigned workflows, or delivered measurable improvements.
- A CCAB qualification achieved through education, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience that evidences your understanding of the role's requirements.
- Some experience with VAT, Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, or other UK tax regulations. You don't need to be a tax specialist, but you should have exposure to tax compliance and a genuine interest in developing deep expertise in this area.
- The ability to quickly build technical knowledge and confidence in complex tax scenarios, with a problem-solving approach to navigating regulations.
- Experience working with HMRC or other regulatory bodies, demonstrating credibility and professionalism in external relationships.
- Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant in a large or complex organisation.
- The ability to work effectively across departments and at all levels, translating complex financial or technical matters into practical guidance.
- Experience with cloud-based ERP systems (we use Unit4) and a mindset of continuous improvement.
What you'll focus on:
- Driving continuous improvement across the tax function.
- Developing robust tax processes and controls that optimise our position while ensuring compliance.
- Overseeing VAT compliance – preparing and reviewing accurate VAT returns, managing partial exemption calculations, and optimising our VAT position.
- Overseeing Corporation Tax and Gift Aid compliance as well as other statutory tax obligations.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with HMRC, managing enquiries or audits with professionalism.
- Providing clear tax guidance across the Society, empowering colleagues to make tax-efficient decisions.
- Working seamlessly with colleagues across the Finance team to provide integrated financial partnership, while role-modelling our values.
