About the role

We are looking for an experienced and committed Business Development Manager to join our growing charity. Responsible for winning new business and retaining existing contracts to achieve financial and growth targets, this is a pivotal role at Kinship. Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings, managing teams and contract performance, underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. • Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships and sporting challenges.

• Sound knowledge of GDPR and the impact on fundraising in terms of on-going consent and deletions of donors.
• Significant experience of working within a charity in a similar fundraising role.

About the role

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Manager with a passion for relationship building and service sales. Someone who can actively engage and work with our existing client portfolio and win new business through formal tendering opportunities to ensure VoiceAbility remains a provider of choice.

In this new role, you will sit in the Business and Strategy directorate working proactively with external stakeholders and colleagues from across the organisation to ensure that we grow our portfolio of contracts, re-win existing business and advise clients of new services. You will be doing a mixture of new business sales and account management of existing services.

This position is a full-time, 35 hours a week, permanent contract with a starting salary between £39,000 - £46,500 per annum depending on skills and experience. Background

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a Birmingham/West Midlands Programme Manager from September 2024 who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently around the Birmingham and West Midlands area. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers

• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms

• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others

• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up

• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom

• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles

• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed

• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise

• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends

About the role

Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM) works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals.  The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. Based from home, our VRMs work closely with the wider MCR team ensuring a balance of autonomy and support. Travel to meetings, events and the Hertfordshire office are all reimbursed.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to cover parental leave. 

The successful candidate will have accountability for several key areas of operational delivery of BITC’s programmes across England, Scotland and Wales. Kinship are seeking to recruit experienced event co-ordinators with a whole range of skills and great energy to join our brand-new training team. They will be responsible for delivering this first ever programme of its type supporting kinship carers across England in their caring role. 

As a pivotal part of the team, you’ll be supporting delivery of high-quality in-person and online training events across England. You’ll be the first point of contact for the team and be experienced and responsive in dealing with enquiries. You’ll be used to working with suppliers and have proven experience of planning, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of large events. You’ll bring significant working experience of using Microsoft tools, and other platforms and technology including Zoom. You’ll have a positive, can-do approach and the ability to work with initiative, being curious and always thinking ahead to anticipate need and deal with issues.

Collaboration will be key to your approach, and you’ll be detail orientated and be great at managing your time and priorities, and working to consistently high standards. You’ll plan, co-ordinate and support the successful delivery of all our online and in-person events, including being available and involved as needed on site.

• Providing highly effective project management and administrative support to the training programme, including supplier communication, coordinating programme logistics and delivery of all relevant general and financial administration tasks, e.g. scheduling meetings, providing agendas, writing briefings, minute-taking, monitoring expenditure and organising events, training and workshops.
• Being the first point of contact for the team, for both internal and external purposes, communicating effectively with kinship carers, internal training team, external delivery partners and other stakeholders to coordinate and confirm all training activity.

Essential requirements include:

• Proven experience in event planning and management. You will need previous experience being responsible for organising large events (over 50 people). 
• Experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and processes that enable team effectiveness. You will need a minimum of 1 year’s administration experience.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated stakeholder engagement specialist to work across our portfolio of programmes. The ideal candidate will be confident in building relationships with diverse stakeholders, particularly across the Education, Health and Social Care or Youth sectors, promoting our work and recruiting delegates to Ygam workshops. Outstanding communication skills, a strategic mindset and the ability to develop and implement engagement plans and projects are essential. Public speaking or training delivery experience would be beneficial. 

Main roles & responsibilities:

You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement across Ygam’s portfolio of programmes. You will develop long lasting relationships with schools, colleges and children’s services, promoting Ygam’s work and recruiting delegates to our workshops.

You will work across the programme team, developing relationships throughout the UK, training professionals to understand the impact and risks of gaming and gambling. You will also be responsible for promoting and marketing the work of Ygam at conferences and events.

You may, on occasion be required to arrange and deliver our City & Guilds assured workshops, both online and face to face and provide support to delegates post training, updating all relevant records and CRM systems.

We're looking for an IT Project Manager to join our Data and IT team. The IT Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of assigned IT projects within the charity. You'll be responsible for managing the project team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards. You'll serve as a liaison between various stakeholders, including clients, internal teams and vendors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. You'll also identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.

The Customer Experience Manager holds a pivotal position at NCT, managing the complaints, compliments and comments processes and procedures for the organisation, as well the post-booking journey and the team that supports parents once they have booked their course with NCT. This role, alongside the Bookings Journey Manager and Head of Operations, is responsible for the management of bookings, complaints and quality of service to more than 150,000 parents each year.

You will support the delivery of our courses to new and expectant parents with trust and excellence, whilst providing essential input into maintaining and growing course income so that our charity can thrive and achieve more impact for our parents into the future.

As the Customer Experience Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in achieving this vision by driving efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity across the team.
