Dragonfly Cancer Trust is seeking an inspirational, values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead the charity into its next phase of development and impact.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join a highly respected charity supporting children, young people and families affected by cancer. We do this by working directly with young cancer patients aged 0 – 25, families, hospitals and hospices across the UK. We provide memory making opportunities in the form of cash gifts, memory and sibling boxes, activity boxes and personalised keepsakes for families to treasure.

Working closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers, supporters and partners, the CEO will provide strategic, operational and financial leadership, ensuring the charity continues to deliver meaningful support and lasting impact for those who need it most.

About the Role

As Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the charity's strategic vision, strengthening organisational sustainability and ensuring our services remain responsive to the needs of children, young people and families facing the challenges of cancer and loss.

You will lead and inspire a small but dedicated team, champion the charity's values and culture, and ensure effective governance, financial stewardship and risk management. You will drive income growth through the development of fundraising, corporate partnerships, grant funding and supporter engagement, while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.

A key part of the role will be acting as the public face of Dragonfly Cancer Trust, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, cancer centres, hospices, funders, corporate partners, community groups and supporters. You will help increase awareness of the charity, expand its reach and maximise its impact across the UK.

● Someone with strong financial management, governance and risk management experience.

● A proven track record of developing sustainable income streams and increasing organisational resilience.

● An accomplished relationship-builder who can engage effectively with trustees, funders, corporate partners, healthcare providers, supporters and volunteers.

● A confident ambassador with excellent communication and public speaking skills.

● A leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.

● Someone who understands the importance of supporter engagement, volunteer development and partnership working in achieving lasting impact.

● An individual with the resilience, energy and commercial awareness required to lead a growing national charity.
