Job description

Senior Content Officer
Location: Angel Islington, London
Salary: £30,400 to £32,100 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Closing date: Thursday 13 February
Interview date: Monday 24 February

This is a permanent position.

Are you the person to take our digital content and communications to a new level of impact?

The role of Senior Content Officer is vital to us in achieving our mission to eradicate type 1 diabetes.

As the Senior Content Officer you will support the delivery of our new content strategy. You will create and distribute content that provides real value for our supporters affected by type 1 diabetes, taking our audience engagement to the next level.

You’ll plan, produce and distribute a great variety of content: blogs from influencers, lifestyle articles, images, press releases, family case studies, video diaries and more. Your planning with, and stewardship of, our celebrity supporters will bring us great celebrity interview content.

Your content will reflect the realities of life affected by type 1 diabetes - how it impacts on lifestyles, relationships, work and leisure. If you can create relevant and resonant content, then our community will respond passionately.

But you’ll be more than just a content creator. You will bring consistency to our different communications channels, via organisation-wide content planning and organisation-wide editorial standards and approaches. And you’ll help ensure our content creation is sustainable as we grow as an organisation.

Your content will win us new supporters, drive this growth and empower us to further tackle those health inequalities. Your PR skills will win us media coverage, increasing awareness of type 1 diabetes among target audiences.

You’ll have previous experience of:

  • Developing, planning and maintaining organisational external content
  • Playing a central role on PR and media relations
  • Celebrity liaison
  • Working as part of a communications team

You will have superb written and verbal communication skills, be digitally literate and skilled at using various communications channels. You’ll have excellent creative, time management and planning skills.

As an employer we offer:

  • Flexible working and will consider compressed hours
  • Generous annual leave entitlement – 25 days and bank holidays
  • Health cash plan
  • Season ticket and cycle loan
  • Pension scheme
