Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide operational leadership and oversight of the Carers Manchester Volunteer Programme and support the wider development of the Volunteer Programme at Gaddum. The Volunteer Coordinator will work with Carers Manchester colleagues to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported to use their skills and lived experience in a range of established volunteer roles.

They will also work with the team to develop and recruit volunteers for new roles that support Carers Manchester to deliver on its aims and objectives. The role will involve maintaining close working relationships with our Central Team, Health & Safety systems, and compliance responsibilities. 

All staff are expected to work within all Gaddum policies and procedures. This role is subject to a basic DBS check.

The role is a key part of the Doctors of the World (DOTW) UK Policy and Advocacy team, contributing to the implementation of our three-year strategy and maximising the impact of our policy and advocacy function. The team focuses on influencing UK health and migration policy, improving access to NHS services for minoritised communities and populations and strengthening the right to health in the UK.

The post holder will play a critical role in ensuring DOTW UK’s advocacy and influencing work is informed by our service users’ experiences and seeks to bring about the changes they want to see. To this end, the role will lead work with DOTWs expert by experience group, liaising and coordinating different engagement activities, identifying co-production opportunities and supporting members of the group to meaningfully participate in the organisation’s advocacy work and drive change.

Those with lived experience of migration, the asylum system, homelessness, or exclusion from health services are encouraged to apply.

Collaboration: Work alongside church leaders and volunteers to deliver meaningful experiences for both visitors and members of the church community.

Keep adequate records of contacts and of work undertaken.

Appraise and review initiatives set up and activities undertaken, and change where necessary the action and focus of work after discussion with, and agreement, from the management group.

Any other duties and responsibilities, identified by the minister as are within your capabilities and level of responsibility, in order to meet the needs of the church.

Reporting to: Service Manager

Location: Baca office, Cambridge, England with regular travel to locations where Baca’s services are delivered.

Salary: £29,009 - £31,203 per annum for full time hours. Equivalent to £23,207 to £24,962 per annum for 30 hours. The role also comes with an allowance of £2301 (pro rata) for Cambridge cost of living.

Working hours: 30 hours a week.

About Baca: Baca is dedicated to supporting young refugees aged 16 to 18. Our mission is to empower these young individuals to become positive, independent contributors to society. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Education Coordinator to join our team and lead the delivery of our education program.

Overall Purpose: As the Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering Baca's education program. Your role will be crucial in enabling the young people we support to achieve a standard of English that allows them to enrol in local college courses and become empowered individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver the education program creatively to meet the diverse needs of young people.
• Support the achievement of outcomes in line with Baca’s Theory of Change, including improved physical and emotional wellbeing, increased engagement with education, employment, and training, social engagement, and personal safety.
• Review and develop the education program to ensure it meets the needs of young people and college course requirements.
• Liaise with colleges and education providers to support student enrolment and ongoing academic success.
• Recruit, train, support, and supervise education volunteers, including developing volunteer resources and training packs.
• Coordinate education support from volunteers, ensuring effective matching with young people and development of appropriate activities.
• Participate in meetings to deliver services effectively.
• Oversee the education volunteering budget and resources.
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation of volunteer activities.
• Maintain accurate records and databases, including monthly and end-of-year reports.

About this job

The Philanthropy team is part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships department, whose primary goal is to engage high value supporters and fundraise for the Stop MS Appeal.

As Philanthropy Officer, you will work closely with the Philanthropy manager, raising income for the MS Society from philanthropy fundraising activities as per the agreed objectives and targets.

You will identify, engage and steward philanthropy prospects through events and other appropriate fundraising activities, generating income to achieve ambitious targets and delivering a first class supporter experience.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the senior lay officer in the Cathedral and has the responsibility for managing the business functions of the Cathedral and monitoring operational performance.

The Cathedral Chapter (our Trustee Board) is looking for a collaborative colleague who will enhance the Cathedral’s caring culture, working closely with the staff team, volunteers and the wider cathedral community. Chapter’s strategic priorities include working towards financial sustainability; reviewing the operating model of the Cathedral and managing change; working towards environmental sustainability; creating partnerships to support the Cathedral’s work with the vulnerable and marginalised and ensuring effective safeguarding.

The successful candidate will join our busy Governance team, reporting to the Head of Governance and working closely within a core team of two officers and two senior officers. 

As a Senior Governance Officer, you will provide high quality governance support to the senior executive, Board and Committees as well as other stakeholders across the Fund engaging pro-actively with other teams and stakeholders across the Fund.  You will have a good understanding of governance in the public or voluntary/charity sector and be able to quickly familiarise yourself with the Fund’s complex governance framework.  You will be expected to use your knowledge and judgment to provide prompt and high-quality advice and feedback. 

You will show leadership in identifying, implementing, and maintaining effective governance processes and best practice, bringing changes where needed.

The role is hybrid and UK based. However you will be able to travel to London for team’s meetings and occasionally to other locations within the UK to support governance meetings when required.

ABOUT US

MaidEnergy is a renewable energy Society, which supports the growth of renewable energy infrastructure projects for the benefit of the local community. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are expanding. 

MaidEnergy supports the growth of locally generated and locally owned renewable energy in Maidenhead, Windsor, Egham, Staines and the surrounding area. We are a community business, democratically run, with an asset lock to preserve the solar panels or other energy generation infrastructure for the benefit of the community.

We launched our first renewable electricity generating community Solar Photovoltaic (PV) share offer in 2015. Since then people have demonstrated their faith in us by investing £970,000. Their investment has funded eight Solar PV installations totalling 640kW and a 60kW Ground Source Heat Pump. These installations have brought low carbon, lower priced renewable energy to public organisations and seen 260 local and national investors join a movement of ethical and financially rewarding community ownership.

MaidEnergy works by:

· Finding community buildings that are interested in cutting carbon emissions

· Raising community finance from people in the local area and throughout the UK, through the issuing and managing of community share schemes, to fund installations

· Providing all relevant legal documents and arranging grid export capability

· Managing the installation and all ongoing maintenance

· Working with sites to maximize financial, environmental, and community benefit

MaidEnergy has achieved all this with volunteer Directors, supported by committed volunteers and specialist contractors as required.   MaidEnergy is part of Community Energy People and is now looking to employ a second co-ordinator to increase our capacity and improve the consistency of our response.

Job Title:  MaidEnergy Project Co-ordinator

Terms:   Probationary 6 month period.  £14,000 for 15hrs per week (£35,000 FTE pro rata).  Working hours can be flexible to fit around an existing role or circumstances.

Role:  This is primarily a remote working role but with the support of MaidEnergy’s experienced team and monthly in-person meetings (usually in Maidenhead).

Post-holder priorities are to assist the MaidEnergy team with the following tasks:

· Support to the Board of Directors

· Monitoring performance of MaidEnergy’s existing estate, liaising with sites, and scheduling routine maintenance and identified repairs.

· Manage stakeholder communications – to members, public, customers, investors, volunteers

· People management/ supervision [of second post] and volunteers

· Provide regular reports to the MaidEnergy Board on project progress

Overview of the International Chief Projects Officer

The International Chief Projects Officer (ICPO) will lead and oversee the Projects Department, and reports to the International Chief Executive Officer.

The ICPO will drive the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of Barnabas’ projects around the world. The ICPO will work closely with the International CEO, senior leadership team, and local project partners to identify opportunities, ensure effective and efficient resource allocation, and deliver impactful results that align with Barnabas’ mission to support persecuted and suffering Christians.

The ICPO will ensure that Barnabas’ projects are strategically aligned with the organisation’s goals, operationally effective, and financially sustainable, while maintaining the highest standards of accountability and impact measurement.

The Organisation

Methodist Ministers’ Housing Society (MMHS) provides quality housing and associated services for Methodist Church ministers and their spouses/partners. They currently support around 650 ministerial households across the UK, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands. MMHS has generated income mainly through rents from ministerial residents and market tenants, and investments. In their last financial year, total income was £5.7 million and total funds were £187.8m. The market rented portfolio is being sold and the proceeds of sale are being reinvested. This ambitious charity is focused on its continuing impact and is expanding its mission. Excitingly, new initiatives are planned for 2026, including enhanced wellbeing support and embarking on a new area of mission to address needs in the wider world.
 

The Job Role

As the Director of Finance, ICT and Investments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping MMHS’s financial strategy to support its strategic objectives and enable sound decision-making. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will have a strategic mindset, with the ability to provide insights to your senior colleagues, and you will provide advice and guidance to the board of trustees, becoming a trusted partner. You will develop and deliver financial plans, oversee financial systems to ensure robust control and compliance, and lead key financial activities such as monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, projections, and annual audits. In ICT, you will implement MMHS’s strategy effectively, leading transformation projects to modernise and improve technology infrastructure and processes. You will also manage relationships with MMHS’s external support and services provider.

With investments, you will implement MMHS’s strategy, working closely with investment managers and third-party experts to align MMHS’s portfolio with strategic objectives, providing guidance to senior colleagues and the board.
 

The Person

This is a key post for the organisation, and they are looking for someone who can provide a long-term view while being ‘hands-on’ with day-to-day operations. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) with significant experience in a leadership role. Experience or a desire to quickly upskill in investments is a distinct advantage. You will have the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. You will be someone who embraces change and continuous improvement. You will also be a team-player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
