About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are expanding our team of IPS Employment Advisors in our IPS service in the London Borough of Enfield. You will be based in one of NHS mental health treatment teams in Enfield Town and Edmonton areas.

This IPS service at Working Well Trust has been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adheres to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment.

This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain and sustain paid employment. 

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, either personally or through a close contact.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to become comfortable in approaching employers, and showcase the advantages of our service in order to work with them to recruit our clients to fill vacancies and sustain employment.

This is a part time post working 17.5 hours, please note salary listed is FTE.

What you’ll be doing

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPSapproach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.

You will work as part of a mental health team (NHS Trust) maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. You will work closely with clinical teams, providing a coordinated approach thatalways remainsclient led.

You will be based at one of the following NHS mental health treatment teams:

• Enfield's Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service, Lucas House Edmonton
• Community Rehabilitation Team Enfield, Park Avenue, Enfield Town

You will spend up to 65% of your week working in the community of Enfield to provide localised support to residents of the Borough.

You will also be working to contract targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service.

The Accounts Receivable Controller plays a key role in the financial management of the School, ensuring the accurate and timely billing, reconciliation, and collection of all tuition, transport, financial aid, after-school, and extracurricular fees. The role manages billing and collection processes for over 900 families and partner organisations, ensuring data accuracy, financial compliance, and an exceptional level of customer service.

This position supports approximately £50 million in annual tuition and related income and requires a detail-oriented, technology-savvy, and proactive professional capable of operating efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Billing and Data Management

• Manage end-to-end billing for tuition, transportation, financial aid, after-school programs, and all ancillary charges for the School and its subsidiary.

• Maintain accurate family and student billing records in the school’s finance and student information systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central).

• Collaborate with Admissions, and departmental administrators and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely updates to student and fee data.

• Generate, review, and distribute invoices within strict deadlines; ensure compliance with Accounting and VAT regulations as well as school policies and contractual obligations.

• Monitor and reconcile data between finance, admissions, and student databases to ensure billing integrity.

• Prepare and maintain accurate audit trails for all transactions.

Collections and Customer Relations

• Manage the collection of fees and ensure that payments are received in line with the School’s terms and conditions.

• Communicate effectively and empathetically with parents, companies, and sponsors regarding outstanding balances.

• Negotiate payment plans where appropriate, maintaining professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive personal circumstances.

• Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance & Operations to review overdue accounts and agree on next steps.

Reconciliation and Reporting

• Perform regular reconciliations between the fees ledger, bank accounts, and other sub-ledgers.

• Analyse billing and cash flow trends; prepare reports for management, auditors, and the Board as required.

• Produce insightful analytical reports on billing to assist in long-term financial planning.

• Support external audits and provide all necessary documentation related to fees and revenue.

Systems, Innovation, and Process Improvement

• Utilise financial systems effectively; identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting accuracy, and user experience.

• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives such as online payment platforms, automated invoicing, and data analytics tools.

• Ensure compliance with relevant UK financial, consumer, and data protection legislation, including GDPR, Consumer Credit Act, and HMRC guidelines.

• Maintain awareness of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and apply appropriate due diligence when processing and verifying payments from individuals and organisations.

• Identify and escalate potential compliance or irregular payment concerns to the Director of Finance & Operations.

• Develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.

Teamwork and Collaboration

• Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Admissions, Operations, and Academic departments.

• Provide support and training to other team members on billing processes and systems.

• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• A professional qualification in the accounting and finance field or equivalent.

• Substantive experience in an accounting, billing, or accounts receivable role.

• Proficiency with financial management systems (e.g. Business Central, iSAMS, Sage, or similar).

• Advanced Excel and data reconciliation skills.

• Strong understanding of financial controls and internal audit practices.

• Awareness of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) principles and responsibilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience in the education sector, particularly within an international or independent school.

Global Communications Lead

About the role

As our Global Communications Lead, you will lead the development and delivery of the global communications plan in support of the global fundraising strategy, working closely with communications, fundraising, advocacy, policy, programme and federation colleagues to drive sustainable change.

• Lead the development and delivery of a joined-up global communications plan that supports fundraising growth, audience engagement and brand visibility across the federation.

Citizens Advice Stevenage is an ambitious and innovative member of the Citizens Advice network. We have expanded our services and offering to meet the increased demand in the area, doubling in size over the last few years. 

As a positive subsequence, we are looking for a Head of Finance & Business Support, who will become a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing the financial stewardship of Citizens Advice Stevenage. To lead on financial governance, business support operations, and compliance, ensuring the organization operates sustainably and meets all legal and regulatory obligations. The role is pivotal in safeguarding the charity's financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and enabling effective service delivery. 

Financial Leadership 

• Prepare, review, and present draft and final budgets for approval by the board, ensuring timely submission of financial information to the CEO and Trustee Board. 

• Oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory standards, including variance analysis and annual balance sheets, ensuring timely submission of financial information to the CEO and Trustee Board. 

• Manage the reserves policy, ensuring regular review and alignment with operational needs and financial risks. 

• Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring integration into the organization’s risk register and adherence to appropriate mitigations.

Role: You will work with local residents to bring about positive change for North Leatherhead, by supporting community-led activities, growing local leaders, and facilitating residents’ engagement in decisions affecting this community.

Pay: £32,136 a year (pro rata).

Contract: permanent contract, subject to a 4-month probationary period.  

Hours: 4 or 5 days a week, including occasional evening and weekend working, to be agreed with the successful applicant.

Background

Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) has employed a Community Development/Engagement Worker since 2022, building relationships with local residents and listening to people’s concerns and hopes for North Leatherhead. This has led to the development of a number of successful community-led activities, including our weekly non-contact boxing and football training sessions for children and young people. More recently, we set up a Residents’ Panel and carried out a large-scale Community Survey, to help ensure that LCH is always listening to local residents and guided by local priorities.

This role is a vital element of LCH’s strategic vision for the next three years and beyond:

· cultivating community – offering a safe space for community activities that strengthen mutual support networks.

· growing capability - equipping local residents with the skills and confidence to bring about positive change in their community.

· fostering connections - acting as a focal point for collaborative working between local charities, agencies and businesses.

Our community development work is particularly focused on “growing capability”, recognising the importance of focusing time and energy into listening, encouraging and empowering others, and offering opportunities for local residents to get involved through volunteering, training, and working with us.

LCH is always seeking to be shaped by the desires and needs that arise within the community, by bringing people’s ideas into action and giving residents a voice in decisions affecting the local area. As a charity, we are also working towards residents being involved in every aspect of the governance of LCH, whether as trustees or on the management and operations teams.

Context

North Leatherhead is in the top 10% most deprived neighbourhoods in Surrey, with relatively high rates of poverty, economic inactivity, poor physical and mental health, and social isolation; all these issues have been exacerbated by the lack of community provision and damaging impact of the closure of the children’s centre and other community buildings in recent years.

Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) was set up in July 2020 as a dedicated community centre in North Leatherhead. LCH provides opportunities for people to come together socially and build community, as well as giving our partner organisations a permanent base from which to offer critical support to local residents. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space at the heart of the community, where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub attracts around 3,500 visitors a month to our affordable café and the many other community activities run by LCH and other community groups.

Description of role:

We are looking for someone who is capable of running community projects, but who is keen to involve others and gains most joy and satisfaction from developing leaders and volunteers from within the local community and seeing them grow and succeed in their roles.

In this role, you will be responsible for engaging and empowering the residents of North Leatherhead to facilitate positive change for the local community, by:

1)   overseeing existing community projects, and encouraging the involvement of local residents in supporting, running, and leading these projects;

2)   equipping local residents with the skills and confidence to initiate and run new community-led events and activities;

3)   facilitating and growing our Residents’ Panel to play a key role in the governance and running of LCH, with a view to appointing several trustees from the local community.

4)   promoting dialogue and collaboration between local residents and service providers, enabling people to have a greater say in decisions affecting the community;

5)   supporting the management team and trustees in prioritising LCH’s resources to best serving the desires and needs of the local community.

6)   subject to experience, we would also like the postholder to help with, or lead on, our social media alongside volunteers from the local community - although this is not an essential requirement for this role.

You will be employed by Leatherhead Community Hub, using the Hub as a base for networking, capacity-building, and community-led activities, whilst also reaching out and making connections with other sections of the local community. This role will require you to have a regular presence at LCH and in the wider community.

You will work closely with local service providers and other community organisations, including the council, housing association, and GP practices, as well as LCH’s core partners: Citizens Advice Mole Valley, EDGE Disability, Good Company Surrey (Foodbank), Link 2030, Mid-Surrey Community Fridges, The Gathering Church, and The Hive (a creative arts project). You will help promote a collaborative and participatory approach to supporting the community, seeking to ensure that local residents are directly engaged in initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of the North Leatherhead community.

You will be member of LCH’s Management Team, and line managed by the Managing Director, Tom Sefton, with advice & support from one of our Trustees and Co-Founders, Jenny Moore, who has worked in this community for over 20 years.

This role is partly funded by a multi-year grant from the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities Fund, which includes a number of specific objectives which you will be responsible for delivering, including: growing our youth sports projects, supporting more community-led activities, establishing our Residents’ Panel; and increasing local representation on our Board of Trustees.

• Support the team to develop site strategies to grow and improve our volunteer program and manage issues and opportunities at a local and tactical level.

• Collaborate with members of the operations team and other Felix colleagues to continue to integrate the volunteering team within Felix’s work, champion a ‘one-team’ approach.

• Collaborate with the Head of Volunteering, Volunteer Development Manager (Network) and Group Volunteering Manager on strategy and improvement projects

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage seven Volunteer Managers, providing leadership and development opportunities and leveraging their expertise.

• Lead and manage team collaboration, development, communication, and resource distribution.

• Ensure that change management principles are utilised successfully to bring the team together post merger.

• Assist Volunteer Managers in integrating into site teams and fostering productive relationships, championing and facilitating a collaborative "one team" approach.

• Support Volunteer Managers in implementing strategies which promote volunteer recruitment, retention, and engagement.

• Oversee the involvement and experience of individuals who volunteer with Felix regularly, aligning their needs, skills and motivations with those of volunteer-involving teams.

• Work with colleagues to plan, set goals, make data-driven decisions, monitor progress, and report on volunteer recruitment and retention.

• Initiate, manage and collaborate on improvement projects and new processes, particularly in Felix’s depots and kitchen.

• Support Volunteer Managers in resolving volunteer issues, escalating to the Head of Volunteering when necessary.

• Lead the implementation of volunteer-related policies and continuous improvement initiatives locally.

• Assist Volunteer Managers in organising local volunteer events.

• Network with external stakeholders to promote the Felix Volunteer Program and integrate best practices.

• Perform additional duties as needed during the absence of volunteer management team members.

Person Specification 

You will want to spend time with our volunteers and get to know their experience and perspective. You will be a strong people manager, love working with a wide variety of people and be able to quickly build strong and positive relationships in a volunteer-centric organisation. You have extensive leadership, management and team building experience, like to see the impact of your work, and can implement and lead on new ways of working. You have a passion to be in a charity that is expanding rapidly and thrive in a busy environment. You will have a desire to help reduce food waste and/or fight food poverty.

Essential Criteria 

• Strong individual and team management skills within a fast-paced environment

• Strong change management skills- especially those within a post merger environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communicator at all levels

• Great organisation and Planning skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

• Good computer skills including the ability to use Office365

• Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

• Capacity to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment

• Practice in volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention.

• Capability in organising and facilitating events and activities for volunteers.

• Prior experience in a managerial role, preferably within the nonprofit or volunteer sector

• Experience in networking with external partners and stakeholders

• In-depth knowledge of best practices in volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention

• Understanding GDPR and good data management practices
