About the role  

It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. 

The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change. 

The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for leading on and supporting the development of key projects within Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

This will include providing leadership to support Emmaus communities across the UK to prepare and respond to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act, you will require an understanding and commitment to best practice and legislative requirements related to the provision of supported housing, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into user friendly support, training, guidance and policies and procedures

The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. You will provide the project management and technical skills required to support the successful delivery of the application process, ensuring that risk and regulatory requirements are considered and acted upon at each stage, maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders externally and across the federation.

As the Federation Development Lead, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of the Emmaus movement within the UK, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the overall success of the federation. Your role will involve supporting the development and delivery of strategic plans, programme design and implementation, stakeholder management, and continuous evaluation and improvement of developed initiatives.

Working with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development and wider Senior Leadership Team, the role will be central to the delivery of strategic objectives related to the development of the movement.

We're looking for a Facilities and Compliance Co-ordinator to join Your Place and be part of our dedicated team to help us with our mission to solve homelessness in east London, one person at a time!

About the role

The Facilities Team is responsible for ensuring that our residents have a safe and well maintained living environment and that Your Place meets regulatory compliance standards as a Registered Provider.

The Facilities and Compliance Co-ordinator will be working closely with the Facilities Manager and team, co-ordinating technical support, including day to day repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance, health and safety compliance, facilities management, environmental management, and the administration of business continuity arrangements.

This post will involve working closely with contractors, consultants, and senior colleagues

Salary: £28,712 - £32,240 per annum

Other responsibilities include

• Co-ordinating day to day maintenance, planned and cyclical/housekeeping administration, reporting and job allocation via iCompleat finance software, Salesforce & Pyramid maintenance databases.
• Checking specifications, quotes, and working with contractors on job pricing.
• Raising of Purchase Orders, tracking through to job completion
• Checking all compliance documentation Is In place eg. Risk Assessment and Method Statements and any Permits to Work
• Uploading job sheets, and all related documentation Including invoices and certification
• Overseeing a contractor’s diary and ensuring all regular checks are carried out.
• Ensure H&S policies are up to date and liaise with relevant consultants on reviews, and ensuring new starters have H&S information and guidelines.
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive compliance recording data base to ensure that we meet and evidence regulatory responsibilities.
• Monitor and track through to completion health and safety issues from the daily building Inspections
• Working with the Facilities Manager and Senior Maintenance Officer to participate in Contractor and or building audits.
• Working with the Facilities Manager and Accounts Team to review Facilities management accounts on a monthly basis to ensure all expenditure is accurately recorded.
• Working closely with Facilities Manager, Impact Specialist and Head of Compliance to co-ordinate day to day management of compliance activities including monitoring of compliance, running reports, identifying non-compliance, proactively manage any potential non-compliance, data entry, maintaining property information, data quality updates, providing supporting documentation for reports, KPIs, etc.
• To ensure Facilities' KPIs are kept up to date and reported to SMT and Premises Sub-Committee in line with internal reporting timetable

About you

Experience

• Facilities / Maintenance and or property management background.
• 1 years experience in compliance administration is a must
• Experience of managing health and safety in the workplace would be an advantage.
• Experience of delivering Facilities related training, including site induction an advantage.
• Experience of working within a soft and hard Maintenance services environment.
• Experience of tendering maintenance and Facilities contracts.

Skills & Knowledge

Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Dumfries and Galloway, working specifically in the West of the region. As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers to securing a positive pathway.  This will include barrier identification and removal, supporting pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area. 

You will identify, develop, and manage partnerships with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the West of Dumfries and Galloway, building an effective presence within the third sector locally.  You will create diverse, high-quality, structured volunteering opportunities with charity partner organisations, ensuring that volunteering roles reflect the needs and interests of those we support. You will also support the creation of strong referral pathways into our service, and beyond it, building on a knowledge of existing provision

• Engaging directly with people to understand their wants, needs and aspirations and determine the best opportunity for each person, and provide the support they need in advance of volunteering.

• Developing and maintaining good relationships with referral partners such as The Council, DWP, SDS etc to ensure a steady stream of referrals are received.

• Identifying, creating and developing relationships with new charity partners or agencies to provide bespoke and tailored volunteering opportunities.  These opportunities will support the individuals supported to gain experience, confidence and support them on route to a positive destination.

• Supporting with funding applications and opportunities

• Researching and engaging with partners to provide required coverage of placement sector.

• Managing the risk assessment, quality assurance and audit processes as appropriate.

• Ensuring monitoring, impact and evaluation information and data is collected and that the project meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.  Assist the Delivery Leader by preparing reports to funders.

• Ensuring all the above is done with excellent record keeping, in accordance with compliance requirements.

• Promoting and representing Volunteering Matters and across Dumfries and Galloway.

• Contributing to the wider Volunteering Matters staff teams, upholding our values at all times.

Responsibilities

The employee will provide day-to-day support to the Ambassadors team. In this role, Ambassador Community Coordinator  will:

• Participate in the implementation of a “white glove” strategy aimed at retaining and engaging a broad and sustainable base of VVIP contacts while strengthening their sense of belonging to the Ambassadors community.
• Support the team in organising and coordinating a calendar of events, particularly Ambassador events taking place in Paris, London, Brussels (and sometimes New York).
• Produce communication and engagement materials to animate the community on various platforms and to promote its actions externally.
• Be responsible for researching and monitoring news about the community.
• Contribute to the identification and integration of new Ambassadors (recruitment, onboarding, etc.).
• Ensure the proper maintenance of the database.
• Be responsible for any other tasks that may be assigned to them as part of their duties.

Skills and qualifications required for this position:

• All candidates must be legally entitled to work in the UK.
• Required experience: minimum 4 years of professional experience in fields relevant to the position, for example: network and community management, customer engagement, exclusive events, etc.

Kineara has a new vacancy for an experienced Housing support worker to join our small and dedicated team for our new School Housing Advice project.

About the project 

The School Housing Advice Support Project builds on the success of a pilot program and aims to provide tailored housing advice and support to families, particularly those living in temporary accommodation (TA). The project started in January 2025 and is currently being delivered at three primary schools in the borough of Southwark.

The initiative offers practical housing advice, casework, workshops, and legal support through a collaborative partnership between Kineara and Southwark Law Centre. It also addresses challenges such as poor housing conditions, legal proceedings, and impacts on families' health and wellbeing.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to parents from four Primary Schools in Southwark. This role involves conducting housing surgeries, providing follow-up casework, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with schools, community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, address suitability of the property, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.

Kineara is a unique community interest company and Charity that supports people in poverty across London who facing barriers to housing, employment and education. We break down barriers, provide holistic support for families, vulnerable adults, and school pupils, and deliver intensive one-to-one interventions to those in need of extra help through challenging times. We use holistic, trauma-informed methods, partnership working and a flexible, non-judgemental approach that puts the needs of those we work with first.

Compass is a growing organisation with a long history of bold national campaigns, local groups across the country and a newly launched political network organising within the Labour party, Mainstream.

To grow our network and influence, we are looking to power up our organising, particularly by running impactful events. The Political and Campaigns Organiser will work with the Compass campaigns team to support our national campaigns for electoral reform and public ownership of water. They will also work with Compass’ organising team to support our network of local groups and to contribute to our organising across all progressive parties and in particular within the Labour Party.

They will contribute to our full organising programme, but with particular responsibility for events and working with our local groups. They should be comfortable working flexibly in a small, lively team and with groups with different perspectives.

This role involves:

• Growing, building and coordinating our local groups network across England and supporting their local campaigns. 
• Working with the organising team and the local groups to strategise, plan and coordinate actions.
• Working with the whole Compass team to deliver events. We run a range of events throughout the year, from our big event Change: HOW?, our Annual Gathering, our panel events at party conferences and festivals to smaller events like our online party group meetings and briefings on our reports.
• Engaging and activating Compass’ member and supporter base through local groups and organising to maximise our impact, with a view to attracting and energising younger activists.
• Supporting the delivery of effective and creative campaigns - including supporting the campaigns team in writing copy and sending mailouts.

What this role might look like on the day to day:

• Meeting a local group in Warwickshire to plan an effective meeting to build their campaign against the far-right.
• Supporting the team to convene civil society leaders as part of our work on a New Popular Front by sorting logistics for events - choosing a venue or booking catering.
• Writing copy for emails to keep our activists up to date with key information about our activities.
• Supporting the organising team with desk research to feed into our political engagement work.
• Supporting our political party organising by writing template council or CLP motions.
• Following up with a member interested in starting a local group via phone or email, finding out what motivates them and building a relationship.
