The Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer will work alongside the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to help deliver Rising Sun’s fundraising targets during this exciting period of growth for the charity.

The main focus of the role is finding, attracting and stewarding new funders to help deliver Rising Sun’s life changing services. You will write compelling funding proposals that demonstrate the impact of our services and how we meet funders’ requirements. You will build strong relationships with grant officers from various foundations, providing regular updates and communicating challenges, solutions and successes as appropriate to develop our reputation as an effective, reliable and trustworthy organisation.  Alongside this you will be nurturing our existing portfolio of funders to help prioritise multi-year funding.

Working with you in the Fundraising Team will be the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications, Trusts and Foundations Officer, Community Fundraising Officer and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team. As part of the team you will help to develop fundraising materials such as case studies, impact reports and cases for support.

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who loves building and nurturing relationships and has a passion for fundraising. In addition, you will have excellent writing skills and experience of generating income from trusts and foundations to grow our income from this stream. As part of our committed team of approximately 50 staff, you will be contributing to the invaluable work of the Rising Sun and making a lasting difference to the lives of those who have experienced domestic abuse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage part of Rising Sun’s portfolio of income and fundraising activities related to trusts and foundations.
• Keep the trusts and foundations stream of the funding pipeline healthy and up to date, carrying out research into new opportunities and meeting application deadlines. 
• Write compelling funding applications that answer funders’ questions and effectively communicate the mission, services and impact of Rising Sun.
• Develop appropriate fundraising tools, such as cases for support and impact reports.
• Support the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to write bids for commissioned services and government funding opportunities.
• Liaise internally across the organisation to become familiar with our services and stay up to date with current trends to feed into funding applications and develop project proposals.
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including survivors and grant officers.
• Be responsible for the management of successful trusts and foundations grant agreements and reporting requirements, working with the wider team to gather information and data as required.
• Work with survivors and team members to develop case studies, presentations and fundraising materials as required to support income generating activities.
• Represent Rising Sun at fundraising events and pitches as required.
• Comply with current Institute of Fundraising Code of Fundraising Practice guidelines and Data Protection legislation and ensure that fundraising is carried out on an ethical basis.

About the Role

The Interim Head of Communications and Marketing will lead the operational planning, management and development of the College’s communications and marketing functions.

The role will ensure that the College’s marketing and communications activity has clear objectives, is based on audience insight and is evaluated against defined metrics.

This role is pivotal in shaping and articulating the College’s overarching narrative, integrating messages from across all workstreams into a compelling and engaging story that enhances understanding and raises the profile of the College and its products and services with internal and external audiences.

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking a Membership and Training Assistant to join the Early Career Researcher Network (ECRN) team, supporting the delivery of our inclusive, researcher-led network for early career researchers working across the SHAPE disciplines.

The role

The ECRN Membership and Training Assistant will play a key role in providing administrative support for the Early Career Research Network. The role holder will work closely with the ECRN team and will interact with researchers, universities and other stakeholders, as well as academic Fellows and colleagues from across the Academy.

You will support the ECRN Membership Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network’s membership function. Key responsibilities include monitoring membership workflows, responding to member enquiries in a timely and professional manner, and serving as a primary point of contact for early career researchers interested in joining the Network. 

The primary focus of this role will be managing membership and data-related activities, but you will also be providing administrative and logistical support for the Leadership and Advancement Programme and wider Network as required.

You will be confident using Microsoft Office programmes daily, such as Outlook, Excel and Teams and will be supporting with online events through Zoom. You will have to keep membership records up to date on our CRM database, Salesforce and communicate with our members.

The role holder will gain a proficient understanding of our membership policies and procedures and support the management of our online community platform.

You will be expected to travel across the UK from time to time to attend events and meetings with our delivery partners and other key stakeholders where appropriate.

About the role

In this role, you'll play a key part in upskilling practitioners who support victims and witnesses of crime, helping them develop the soft skills needed to make a meaningful impact. You'll be at the forefront of modern learning design, applying contemporary thinking and innovative approaches to shape materials that are both practical and powerful. You'll need to be a dynamic learning professional with a strong grasp of learning theory and a flair for designing engaging, outcome-driven content across multiple formats.

You will;

• Support the scoping of learning needs with L&D colleagues and make recommendations on potential learning interventions.
• Lead on the design and implementation of virtual and in person learning and other interventions (including independent learning resources, handbooks, tools), within a project management framework, working with a range of key stakeholders, ensuring products are designed within scope, delivered on time, within budget and achieve the desired outcome.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation collating learning needs and providing consultation on effective learning solutions.
• Lead on the continuous improvement of learning across the organisation, using various sources of information, to make recommendations on amendments. Take ownership of courses and conduct scheduled reviews on content and the effectiveness of the intervention.
• Create new ways of learning across the organisation enhancing opportunities such as peer learning, independent learning, on the job learning and virtual communities.

It is essential to be able to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing and conflicting demands in an organised and effective manner. The post is for 37.5 hours per week and a degree of flexibility is necessary. This role will work from home but will have moderate travel nationally across the organisation.

An exciting opportunity to apply for a new Youth Counselling and Allocations post, working within a unique and innovative team -YCSMAS (Youth Counselling, and Substance Misuse and Alcohol Service) working within Young Islington, an outstanding local Authority. Interim Director of Finance & Operations (Environmental Charity, Home based in England)

Contract: Interim circa £500 a day ltd company, or £75k per annum PAYE , 4-day week, approximately 9-month assignment. Weekly travel to London.

The Opportunity

An exceptional interim Director of Finance & Operations (DFO) is sought to join at a pivotal moment in this organisation’s journey.

Operating in a challenging financial context, with a deficit budgeted for the current financial year following a major change programme, the incoming DFO will play a critical role in restoring financial stability, strengthening governance, and ensuring robust infrastructure across finance, IT, facilities and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership of Finance, IT, Governance and Facilities, ensuring development and implementation of strategies and effective practices across all operational areas.
• Drive financial recovery and sustainability: deliver robust financial planning, budgeting, reporting and control processes, while providing clear and strategic advice to the Board and Executive Director.
• Lead on governance, including regulatory compliance, Board reporting, and supporting a review of the organisation’s dual legal structure (limited company and charitable trust).
• Oversee people management within the Finance team, ensuring high performance, effective development, and clear leadership through a period of significant change.

The Candidate

• Professional accountancy qualification and significant leadership experience at Director level, ideally including the charity sector.
• A strong track record of restoring financial stability and leading organisations through periods of financial and cultural change.
• Experience of managing governance, compliance, IT and central services.
• Excellent judgement, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex issues (e.g. disciplinary/capability cases, compliance matters, decision-making in ambiguity).
