Position Title: Helpline Advisor
Reports To: Helpline Supervisor
Salary: £27,000 (0.5 FTE)
Hours: 20 hours/week (including 3 shifts/week, 5 hours each)
Contract: Part-time, initial 12-month contract (renewable)

Role Purpose:
The Helpline Advisor will be the first point of contact for individuals reporting incidents of anti-Muslim hate. The role requires delivering empathetic, confidential, and high-quality support to callers, as well as accurately recording reports and ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
Helpline Advisors will support service users via multiple channels—phone, email, SMS, online chat and web form, by listening actively, offering appropriate information, and making referrals to specialist services where required. They will work closely with the Helpline Supervisor and participate in debriefs and reflective practice after each shift or reported incident.
Advisors will also play an important role in ensuring accurate data capture, safeguarding procedures, and upholding the values of compassion, non-judgement, and confidentiality.
Role Responsibilities:

Answer incoming calls from victims of hate crime with empathy and professionalism.

Provide support to service users using a variety of methods, including telephone, email, SMS, online chat, online forms, and other written reports.

Provide clear, appropriate advice, support, and information to service users, using a non-judgemental and person-centred approach.

Keep accurate, detailed electronic records of each contact, including advice given, support offered, and agreed referrals.

Understand when it is necessary to seek support from more experienced colleagues or external agencies and take appropriate action.

Make referrals to other agencies when necessary, including child and adult protection concerns, on the advice of senior staff.

Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with data protection and safeguarding policies.

Engage sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be distressed, traumatised, or in crisis (trauma-informed approach)

Person Specification:

Experience in helpline, support work, or similar client-facing roles.

Strong understanding and knowledge of anti-Muslim hatred and Islamophobia.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

About the Role
You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Hackney borough community, within Family hub settings as well as in Homerton Hospital. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
· Providing breastfeeding support to families within family hubs settings within Hackney and on the wards at Homerton hospital.
· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.
· To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.
The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at family hubs setting across Hackney borough as well as in Homerton Hospital.

About the role
As a seasonal order picker, you will play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and efficiently on time during our busiest period. It will involve working as part of a small team, being responsible for picking and packing products, maintaining stock accuracy and supporting with the smooth flow of goods in and out of the operation.
The role will be fast paced working to accurately pick, pack and process customer orders in line with SLAs. It will involve working collaboratively with team members to meet targets and communicating any issues to the Order Picker Supervisor.
About you
To be successful in the role you will need to be comfortable working at a fast pace and ensuring to maintain a high level of accuracy in a dead-line driven environment. Also making sure to have strong attention to detail to make sure the orders are picked and packed correctly.
Being able to work well as part of a team is important to contribute towards a positive and efficient working environment and be confident to use basic IT systems and handheld devices to update stock and order records.

You will provide day-to-day supervision, support and guidance to the team, allocating work and carrying out your own direct work with participants, while also organising the promotion of the project, establishing and developing partnerships to create pathways for participants to join the project. About this key role
