As our Interim HR Advisor, you will play a key role at BookTrust in taking forward our ambitions. With your experience and skills, you will be able support and develop the organisation as we continue to go through significant change to deliver our strategy.

You will have the experience and skills to ensure that our HR processes are managed to a high standard, and you can work with the organisation in delivering highly effective HR support. This will involve working with the HR Lead, our Team Leaders and Senior Managers from recruitment, onboarding, payroll. This includes the maintenance of the HR Information System, supporting core processes and the provision of frontline HR assistance to colleagues on HR issues, where appropriate.

You will also have experience and will be skilled in building strong internal relationships. You will be comfortable taking a deeply collaborative approach and be keen to work alongside expert colleagues in BookTrust to deliver our strategy.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. Our Specialist Advocates support families impacted by fatal domestic abuse through provision of lay advocacy for and on behalf of families with a range of statutory service providers (e.g. those conducting reviews and inquiries, social services, police, housing) and work to build good relations between all parties.  To ensure that families get the support they need, you will use AAFDA’s Home Office endorsed seven-step approach to working with individuals and families, to ensure that they receive the best possible support and advocacy to restore dignity and relief for families and to help them cope and recover. Through trauma-informed approaches, you will:

• listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight;
• provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide Reviews, Mental Health Reviews, Inquests, Independent Office of Police Conduct inquiries and other types of Inquiries;
• manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities;
• give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf;
• Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

This role is offered on a full-time basis.

The role

Cruse Bereavement Support is the UK’s leading Bereavement charity. We help people through one of the most painful times of their lives through bereavement support, information and campaigning.

We’re looking for an organised, enthusiastic Fundraising Administrator to support our Public Fundraising Team to deliver some ambitious targets.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Charity Lead Administrator to support our organisation on a part-time basis. This role involves a lot of liaising with key stakeholders, including the Project Director, Trustees, Finance Administrator, and external accountants, making it vital for the successful running of our charity.

As the Charity Lead Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing grant agreements, helping to finalise grant requests, compiling reports to donors, and ensuring due diligence. You will also coordinate funding requests and ensure compliance with grant terms, particularly around expenditure tracking and reporting. Your strong understanding of budget structures will be key in supporting financial management processes.

You will be working with Climate Response Limited, who currently run the Climate Crisis Advisory Group (CCAG), a world leading group of climate science experts, supporting their work globally.

Responsibilities include:

· Liaising with Key Stakeholders: Act as the central point of communication between the Project Director, Board of Trustees, Finance Administrator, and external accountants.

· Grant and Reporting Management: Assist in preparing and finalising grant agreements, donor reports, and funding requests. Ensure that all grant terms are met, including compliance with reporting requirements and accurate recording and coding of expenditure.

· Meeting Preparation and Support: Prepare agendas in consultation with stakeholders and distribute relevant documents in advance of board meetings.

· Minuting Meetings: Accurately record and distribute minutes for board and project meetings.

· Budget Administration: Collaborate closely with the Finance Director and assist with budget tracking, ensuring that expenses align with financial reports and funding requirements.

· Xero Support: Aid in financial tracking and decision-making by ensuring that Xero coding accurately reflects the spending structure. Assist with coding by funder, supplier, working group, or in comparison to the budget, ensuring financial transparency.

· Invoice Management: Review and assign serial numbers to each invoice, verify them against the budget, and pass them to the Finance Director for approval and payment. Escalate queries to the appropriate person only when necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Proven administrative experience, preferably in a charity or non-profit setting.

2. Strong communication and organisational skills, with an emphasis on stakeholder management and financial liaison.

3. Familiarity with financial administration, budget tracking, and compliance with funding terms.

4. Experience with Xero accounting software is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.

5. Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

Main duties

About the role

We are looking for a technically proficient Financial Controller with charity experience to play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions team, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate financial reporting that will support NCT’s ongoing financial sustainability and the successful delivery of its ‘For Every Parent’ strategy.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

• Motivating, empowering and developing three team members
• Managing the month end close and ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with relevant legislation
• Year-end accounts preparation and external audit: managing the year end timetable and tasks and acting as the key liaison for our external auditors
• Cash flow forecasting and management: monitoring cash balances and preparing reports for inclusion in management information
• VAT, Payroll, Gift Aid and Direct Debit processing and submissions
• Routine user acceptance testing of finance systems and play a key role in any finance system development projects
• Partnering with specific budget holders to discuss budget variances and reforecast on a monthly basis

The role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the delivery of River Holme Connections’ (RHC) strategy and operations. They will be responsible for all the operational activities and financial management. They will work closely with the Chair and Trustees to ensure the smooth and efficient management of RHC, to lead an innovative, respected and financially sustainable organisation. The CEO will also be the principal external ‘face’ of RHC and is expected to play a leading role in strengthening relationships with partners, supporters and other organisations.

About you

We are looking for an inspiring and dynamic individual with a passion for nature conservation, our river ecosystems and wildlife within the wider landscape and who also has knowledge and appreciation of the charity sector and its ethos. They will have a proven track record of strategic leadership and delivery of complex programmes of work and have the confidence to represent RHC externally at the highest levels. The successful candidate will build on our solid foundations of a successful and highly respected local charity, shaping the path for RHC in the face of modern day and future challenges in both the natural and economic world. They will be supported by a highly functioning and knowledgeable Board of Trustees and will lead a team of skilled and dedicated staff and volunteers.
