About this role

SPANA’s Global Resources team supports SPANA’s mission to transform the welfare of working animals, including providing efficient and effective HR delivery across the organisation. This role will report to SPANA’s Global People & EDI Manager.

We are seeking a People Officer to support processes and systems across the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on ensuring high quality and efficient recruitment. The People Officer will also play a key role in continuing the roll out of SPANA’s HR platform, Moorepay, which was introduced earlier this year.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), fixed-term, six-month contract role with the possibility of extension. This role is UK based, hybrid working with regular attendance (approximately 1-2 days per month, or more if preferred) in our London office. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK currently and for the duration of the contract. 

The salary for this position is c.£34,000 per annum, subject to skills and experience. SPANA is pleased to offer a range of benefits including a generous company pension scheme with 10% employer contribution if the employee contributes a minimum 5%, and health care cash plan.

Act as Samaritans’ appointed Data Protection Officer, offering support and advice across the organisation

Lead on data protection compliance, including incident management and Subject Access Requests (SARs)

Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training that support a privacy-first culture

Monitor and manage data protection risks, controls and compliance

Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), and third-party due diligence

Monitor and respond to queries in our data protection inbox

Serve as the main contact for privacy queries and liaison with the Information Commissioner’s Office

Our Services Development team are responsible for: UK-wide service development and experience design, community development 

Our Head of Service Development will be: 

• leading the development and continuous improvement of our UK-wide and community-based services, ensuring they are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with organisational strategy.  And also working alongside our Digital Services Product Manager on all of our digital services. 
• overseeing the full-service development lifecycle, using evidence to drive continuous improvement and ensuring that lived experience is embedded into design. 
• ensuring that our new or improved services are operationally viable. Supporting our Fundraising to ensure that new services are funded. 
• Developing and managing our service development roadmap.  
• With the Director of Service Development, acting as an organisational lead for coproduction / lived experience. Driving best practice and upskilling in coproduction and lived experience involvement and participation across the organisation.  

We’re looking for:

• significant experience of leading coproduction and service experience design, and ability to support others to deliver these activities. 
• ability to lead organisational discussions and be an authoritative champion based on subject expertise (for coproduction, service development and innovation). 
• experience of effectively implementing change and improvement across an organisation, and ability to drive continuous improvement across a department. 
• experience of leading service development and managing the service lifecycle (including horizon scanning, research, coproduction, piloting and using monitoring and evaluation data to make improvements), ideally in a health or third sector setting. 
• substantial experience of people management, in a team of similar size or complexity. Demonstrable ability to lead, manage and support others to deliver high-quality results. 
• Proven experience in policy implementation, compliance and risk governance (and with an understanding of Safeguarding and demonstratable experience implementing Safeguarding policies).

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development of creative and innovative mental health and wellbeing initiatives across London services. • Offering affordable new and used parts, and refurbished second-hand bikes for sale.

• Focussed cycle maintenance training sessions to upskill our community.

SCBP is seeking to appoint a Bike Project Manager. Working closely with the CEO, trustees and volunteers, you will play a key role in ensuring our community workshop thrives as a welcoming, organised and sustainable space.

Having taken on workshop premises in September 2024, we are now working to increase the number of sessions that we run, streamline our volunteer and participant experience, and expand the breadth of provision that we offer. At the same time, as a grassroots charity, central to our ethos is nurturing a sense of community ownership and collaboration. We aim to make the project a friendly, welcoming place to volunteer for people of all backgrounds and experiences. Another key part of our culture is our “hands-on-tools approach”: participants are encouraged to do cycle maintenance themselves with help from our volunteers.

The role is a full time and fixed term contract for one year. 

The Cafes Manager will take full responsibility in leading and operating a successful cafes and catering operation, giving our student members an excellent service experience every day, looking to implement our cafes operation with new and innovative ideas led by the Head of Commercial Services. This role forms a key part of our Operations team, led by the Director of Operations. Comprising of both front facing and behind the scenes departments including; Cafés and Bars, Retail, Bloomsbury Fitness Gym, Human Resources, Facilities and Systems, the team delivers core functions and central services for the Union, as well as providing a diverse range of quality facilities accessible to our 55,000 members. The Operations team, and this role, are central to the successful delivery of our new strategic plan that will set us on the path to become one of the best students’ unions in the UK, and more importantly a better students’ union for our members.

Hours: Part Time, 21 hours per week

Salary: £29,290.00 to £36,612.00, (pro-rata £17,574.00 to £21,967.20.00), dependent on your skills, knowledge and experience

We are seeking a passionate London Director of Development to build and develop meaningful relationships, initially with London-based high-net-worth individuals, securing significant funding to grow Young Life International's impact on young people in London and beyond. In this influential brand new role, you'll develop an active portfolio of major donors and potential major donors, working towards establishing new funding each fiscal year including annual and multi-year commitments. You'll cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals and major trusts, represent Young Life in high-level meetings and networking events, and plan impactful vision events to inspire and engage supporters. Working collaboratively with senior management and fundraising colleagues, you'll connect donor interests with different aspects of Young Life's mission, inviting supporters to experience first-hand the life-changing work being done. You'll also lead on securing grants from key UK trusts and oversee an effective stewardship process to retain and grow donor support.
