For over 50 years, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has been at the forefront of wildlife conservation in Kenya. Founded on the extraordinary work of Dame Daphne Sheldrick, we are best known for our orphaned elephant rescue and rehabilitation programme – the most successful of its kind in the world. Our work has grown to encompass anti-poaching, habitat protection, community conservation and long-term field programmes across East Africa.

The Opportunity

This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.

Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. We are now ready to build on this engaged supporter base and develop it into a structured individual giving programme – with mid-level giving pathways, major donor cultivation, systematic stewardship and deeper philanthropic relationships. That is the central challenge and opportunity of this role.

We also have active corporate and trust relationships, a legacy programme in development, and real potential to grow income from European and international funders. The Director of Development will take ownership of all of this – hands on and strategic in equal measure.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement a new UK fundraising strategy, establishing clear priorities, income targets and programmes that will drive growth through to 2030 and beyond
• Develop and implement a UK individual giving programme – building on our adoption base to create structured giving journeys, mid-level and major donor cultivation, and meaningful stewardship
• Manage the UK fundraising budget, set and monitor income targets across all streams, and report regularly to the Executive Director on performance and ROI
• Take day-to-day ownership of corporate and trust relationships, writing reports, proposals and partner communications
• Build a major donor programme from the ground up, identifying and cultivating high-value individual prospects
• Develop legacy marketing activity, working alongside our existing legacy administrator and Freewill partnership
• Manage and inspire a team of three: Communications and Fundraising Manager, Retail Manager and Supporter Care Officer, and Fundraising Support Officer
• Oversee the donor database (Donorfy), ensuring data quality and insight-driven decision making
• Explore opportunities to grow income from European and international donors
• Contribute to the global income picture, including through improved donor stewardship and deeper supporter engagement
• Support the growth of SWT's profile and visibility in the UK through press opportunities, social media, and other channels.

About You

We are looking for a fundraiser who loves the craft – someone who is energised by building relationships, writing a compelling proposal, developing a giving programme from scratch, and ensuring every supporter feels genuinely valued. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one, and the right person will be comfortable doing both.

• Proven track record in fundraising, with demonstrable success securing income from individuals, trusts or corporates – including five-figure gifts and above
• Experience developing individual giving programmes, including mid-level or major donor cultivation
• A hands-on practitioner – comfortable writing proposals, reports and donor communications yourself
• Experience managing a small fundraising team with warmth, clarity and accountability
• Strong relationship management and stewardship skills
• Experience working with a donor CRM and using data to inform fundraising decisions
• Comfortable in a building role – excited by developing programmes that don't yet exist
• Experience managing fundraising budgets and producing income forecasts and performance reports.
• Genuine passion for wildlife conservation – this role is for someone who cares about the cause
• Committed to in-person working – we believe day-to-day presence and collaboration produces better outcomes for our donors and our team, and ask for a minimum of three days per week at our Billingshurst office

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership appointment, reporting to the Director of Resources and leading a Finance team of around nine, including the payroll function. What We're Looking For

The BNSSG VCSE Alliance is a collaborative network of over 200 voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations working across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). Its mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of people and communities by enabling the VCSE sector to influence decisions and work alongside the BNSSG Integrated Care System.

This role, the VCSE Alliance Director, will provide strategic leadership for the BNSSG VCSE Alliance, strengthening the influence of the VCSE sector within the Integrated Care System. You'll lead strategic partnerships, influence policy developments, and provide oversight of the Alliance's priorities.

Voscur is a co-founder and host of the BNSSG VCSE Alliance and plays a key leadership role through the Alliance Steering Group. The VCSE Alliance Director will be employed by Voscur and report to the Voscur CEO. The role will line manage the VCSE Alliance Partnerships Manager and hold oversight of Alliance programmes, contracts and budgets, including current grant-funded activity.

The post is based at Voscur's office at Royal Oak House, Bristol, with presence required at community venues across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and occasional travel to Gloucestershire. Voscur operates a hybrid and flexible working approach, with a shared office day on Tuesday and a strong emphasis on support, supervision, wellbeing and collaborative working.

This role is initially offered as a nine month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding and contract procurement.

Variety is looking for a PR and Communications Manager to join our successful fundraising and communications team for FTC maternity cover. This role includes management of internal and external communication channels at Variety including the website, supporter newsletters, social media and PR.  Leading on brand and design, you will oversee freelance support during busy periods including photographers and filmmakers. This role leads and manages brand design on Canva, short film editing and works with the Director of Communications on PR. 

The PR and Communications Manager is key to achieving Variety’s mission to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. You will be joining the charity at an exciting time as Variety is launching a new three-year strategy and you will play a key role in our collaborative and high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Lead the planning, creation and delivery of engaging content across Variety's communications channels.

● Manage the website content, ensuring information remains accurate, accessible and on brand.

● Work with the website developers to deliver improvements and SEO optimisation.

● Manage Variety’s social media content and calendar to ensure children’s voices are at the heart of our storytelling.

● Manage email marketing, including the supporter newsletter on Dot Digital working with the team to grow our mailing list.

● Gather case studies that demonstrate Variety’s impact, working closely with the programmes delivery team and the families we support.

● Oversee Variety’s brand ensuring communications are accessible and consistent with style and tone of voice.

● Work with the Director of Fundraising and Communications to develop and deliver integrated marketing and brand awareness campaigns.

● Review and proof communications produced across the organisation.

● Manager external freelance staff as needed, writing briefs and overseeing work including photographers, filmmakers, PR professionals and designers.

● Write and oversee press releases, responding to media enquiries.

● Monitor, analyse and report on digital communications performance using insights to improve email open rates, content and audience engagement.

● Manage the Senior Social Media Officer overseeing objectives, holding 1-1s and annual appraisals.

● Produce creative assets on Canva to support fundraising and campaigns.

● Attend Variety events, partner schools and community groups to capture engaging content, maximising engagement and representing the charity.

● Store and manage digital assets and the photo library, keeping records and consent up-to-date on the CRM (Salesforce), and manage the communications inbox.

● Participate in staff meetings, fundraising and programmes meetings and contribute to the success of Variety’s strategy.

MAIN BENEFITS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

25 days holiday (we also normally give between Christmas and New Year off, but this is not contractual). The Communications Co-ordinator plays an important role in helping MindOut communicate its impact, services, campaigns and community voice to a wide range of stakeholders. While supporting with our communications for the charity, the role has a particular focus on supporting communications for MindOut's National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Speaking Our Minds: MindOut 25+ Years and LGBTQ Mental Health, helping to capture and share the stories, achievements and learning from the project while increasing engagement with LGBTQ communities, funders and supporters.

Role description 

You will bring the skills, experience, creativity and confidence to support all aspects of MindOut's communications, marketing and public profile, helping to promote our services, campaigns, community engagement activities and heritage work. 

Main Tasks 

Communications & Content Creation 

• Develop and deliver engaging communications across MindOut's social media, website, newsletters and other communication channels. 

• Create accessible and inclusive content that reflects the diversity of LGBTQ+ communities. 

• Write articles, blogs, case studies, impact stories, promotional materials and project updates. 

• Support the development of a consistent organisational voice and communication style. 

• Gather and manage photographs, testimonials, quotes, video content and community stories, ensuring appropriate consent and permissions are obtained. 

Social Media & Digital Engagement 

• Lead on the day-to-day management of MindOut's social media platforms. 

• Plan and schedule content using appropriate digital tools. 

• Monitor engagement, respond appropriately to enquiries and identify opportunities to increase reach and engagement. 

• Track performance and provide regular reports on communications activity and impact.

Heritage Project Communications 

• Lead communications activity for Speaking Our Minds: MindOut 25+ Years and LGBTQ Mental Health.

• Support the development and promotion of online heritage content and digital exhibitions. 

• Work alongside volunteers, participants and partners to showcase project outcomes and achievements.

Events & Community Engagement 

• Support the promotion and delivery of community events, awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement activities.

Website & Email Communications

Cloudesley is recruiting a new permanent, part-time Finance Manager (2.5 days per week). This varied role includes regular financial management tasks, reporting, budget setting, liasion with property and investment managers and lawyers, as well as policy development and advising Trustees on strategic issues.

About Cloudesley

Cloudesley is an independent charitable trust that makes grants to people, organisations and churches in Islington of c. £ 2million per year. Our grants budget is split equally between our Health and Church Grants programmes.

In June 2025, Cloudesley’s total assets were £57 million and the annual gross income was £1.5 million. Currently, around half of Cloudesley's endowment is held in financial market investments managed by Cazenove, and the other half is in c. 90 residential properties on the Cloudesley Estate in Islington. To fund its work, the charity uses income and a prudent element of capital gains generated from both the investments and properties.

This is an interesting time to be joining Cloudesley as it continues to manage its finances to ensure it can support both current and future needs in Islington, implements its property strategy, and helps to respond to the multiple challenges facing people, organisations and churches in Islington.

Finance Manager role

This wide-ranging role includes:

• Administration of regular financial transactions, including relating to grants and the charity's property assets
• Preparation and monitoring of annual budget
• Production of management accounts and a variety of financial, investment and property reports
• Preparation of draft annual accounts and work with the auditor
• Working with the charity's investment and property managers
• Working with a range of external advisers and lawyers on property matters
• Developing and advising on financial and endowment strategies

Staffing, governance and history

Cloudesley has a small team of four permanent staff. Staff work on a hybrid basis, with part of each week spent at the charity's office in King's Cross.

The charity has up to 15 Trustees at any one time, and a single corporate Trustee, Richard Cloudesley Trustee Limited. The Board of Trustees meets three times a year, and the Finance and Endowment Committee and Grants Committee meet quarterly. 

The charity dates back to 1517, when Tudor yeoman and Islington resident Richard Cloudesley wrote his will and left two 'Stony Fields' to Trustees. 

Purpose of the role

The Project Manager will lead the delivery of MindOut's National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Speaking Our Minds: MindOut 25+ Years and LGBTQ Mental Health, an innovative 18-month heritage programme documenting, preserving and sharing over 25 years of LGBTQ mental health history.

Working with LGBTQ communities, volunteers, staff, former service users, heritage partners and community organisations, the postholder will oversee all aspects of project planning, delivery, evaluation and legacy. This includes oral history collection, digital archiving, volunteer management, community engagement, public exhibitions and dissemination activities.

The Project Manager will ensure the project is delivered safely, ethically and inclusively whilst meeting all National Lottery Heritage Fund outcomes, budgets, milestones and reporting requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a significant LGBTQ heritage project that will create a lasting record of community resilience, mental health activism, peer support and social change.

Role description

You will bring the experience, confidence, organisational skills and values required to lead a complex community heritage programme involving lived experience storytelling, volunteer participation, community partnerships and public engagement.

Main Tasks

Project Management

· Manage the set up and delivery of a new Speaking Our Minds project in a medium-size charity.

· Develop and maintain detailed work plans, project timelines, budgets, risk management and ensure milestones and National Lottery Heritage Fund requirements are met.

· Provide regular progress reports in line with project timeline, budgets and outcomes for the Charity Director

· Ensure all project activity is delivered in accordance with MindOut's organisational policies.

Community Participation & Co-production

· Establish and facilitate a Community Advisory Group to guide project development and decision-making.

· Design and deliver co-production workshops, reflection sessions and community consultation activities centring values such as co-production, lived experience and trauma aware with diverse participation and inclusion.

Oral History & Heritage Collection

· Lead the collection of a minimum of 25 oral histories documenting LGBTQ mental health heritage.

· Ensure interviews are conducted ethically and in accordance with Oral History Society guidance and project protocols.

· Coordinate transcription, metadata creation, cataloguing and archive preparation.

· Oversee collection of photographs, documents, memorabilia and contextual materials that support interpretation of MindOut's history.

· Ensure safeguarding, consent and ethical storytelling principles are followed throughout the collection process.

Volunteer Recruitment & Management

· Recruit, train, supervise and support project volunteers.

· Develop clear volunteer roles and learning opportunities.

· Coordinate volunteer involvement in oral history, outreach, events and heritage activities.

· Ensure volunteers receive appropriate induction, support and supervision.

· Create an inclusive and positive volunteering experience that builds skills and confidence.

Heritage Preservation & Digital Archiving

· Work with Queer Heritage South, The Keep and other partners to ensure heritage materials are preserved to recognised standards.

· Oversee processes for cataloguing, digital storage and archival preparation.

· Ensure heritage materials are managed according to agreed metadata, accessibility and licensing requirements.

· Support the creation of sustainable heritage systems and organisational learning that continue beyond the project lifespan.

· Contribute to the development of MindOut's long-term heritage strategy and legacy planning.

Events, Exhibitions & Public Engagement

· Deliver a programme of public engagement activities and community events.

· Coordinate the development of exhibitions, digital outputs and learning resources.

· Work collaboratively with partners including Photoworks and heritage organisations.

· Support communications and promotional activity alongside the Communications Co-ordinator.

· Ensure all events are well planned, accessible and effectively evaluated.

Partnership Development

· Build and maintain strong relationships with heritage organisations, archives, universities, community groups and cultural partners.

· Act as the principal contact for external project partners and commissioned specialists.

· Represent MindOut at meetings, conferences and partnership events.

· Develop opportunities for future collaboration and sustainability beyond the funded project period.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

· Maintain project monitoring systems and data collection processes.

· Work with the external evaluator to assess outcomes and impact.

· Produce regular reports for the Charity Director, Trustees, Advisory Group and funders.

· Monitor budgets, risks and project performance.

· Ensure learning and evaluation are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

You will have an analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail and the ability to turn financial information into clear, concise reports that support decision-making.

The successful candidate will have experience producing monthly management accounts, a good understanding of VAT and strong IT skills, including proficiency to Microsoft Office. You'll be able to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
