About the Role

Young Roots is looking for an experienced and creative Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Manager to play a key role in securing income that transforms the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Development, you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of Trust and Foundation partners, develop compelling funding proposals, and proactively identify new opportunities aligned with our strategy. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll place young people’s voices and experiences at the heart of every bid, helping to fund services that support belonging, wellbeing and futures.

Step-Out Mentoring is an early intervention mentoring organisation that provides support for children and young people in the heart of South London through outdoor based 1:1 mentoring and group workshops. Our mentors are all volunteers from the community who are trained to become youth mentors and matched to young people for weekly mentoring sessions.

About the role

We are now seeking a Development Officer - Prospect Research & Systems to join our high-performing team. This is a pivotal role supporting major gift fundraising by delivering exceptional prospect research, data insights, and systems management. You'll work closely with fundraisers and colleagues across DARE to identify and research potential major supporters (individuals, trusts, and companies) capable of giving £5,000 to £1 million and beyond. Your work will help shape strategies, inform decisions, and strengthen Kingston's fundraising pipeline.

About You

You'll be curious, organised, and proactive, with experience in prospect research and data management in a fundraising or education setting. Comfortable using CRM systems (such as Raiser's Edge), you'll have strong analytical skills and the ability to produce clear, insightful profiles. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach are essential. An understanding of philanthropy and donor motivations will be a big advantage.
