As Fundraising Training and Engagement Officer, working with a Direct Marketing Manager, you will deliver inspiring training presentations to agency face to face fundraisers, and work with the agency to help them deliver their own training sessions.

You will work closely with all key services areas of the charity and the wider operations team, to create and develop content to inspire fundraisers for all training materials.

With the Manager, you’ll support with building relationships of external agency partners, as well as the day-to-day management and monitoring of third-party fundraisers, and supporting with the smooth running of campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

Fundraiser Training, Engagement and Quality

• Deliver inspiring training sessions about services, engaging fundraisers to be passionate about their work and the work of the charity.
• Build strong relationships with the operational team to gain greater knowledge of how the service operates, and feed this into fundraiser training sessions.
• Maintain and refine Fundraiser Training Decks with up to date and relevant content.
• Responsible for training observation and monitoring plans for external agencies.
• Alongside the DM Manager, support on the development of an annual training plan.
• Work with external suppliers to ensure that they are operating to the highest standards.

Planning & Organising

• Work alongside the DM Manager as a contact for agency partners and campaign activity.  
• Assist on the development of operational plans for multiple fundraising campaigns, along with analysing results to ensure ROI is delivered.

Administration Duties

• Reviewing and recording all invoices.
• Maintain training materials and stock of marketing and training materials.

To be successful as the Fundraising Training and Engagement Officer, you will be able to demonstrate prior skills and experiences in the following areas:

• Presenting or communications information to large groups, either face to face or via a remote setting.
• Engaging, inspiring and motivating others to achieve targets and deliver against campaign objectives.
• Working with PowerPoint and Excel to create, deliver and develop training programmes.

Additional desirable skills, though these skills are not essential, are areas such as:  

• Managing the performance of external agencies to deliver successful campaign.
• An understanding of fundraising compliance and data protection.
• Working within a charity and/or exposure to Door, Private Site fundraising and Lottery and Regular Giving campaigns.

The Role
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will spearhead the expansion of our Corporate and Community Giving portfolio. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fundraising Manager to become a vital part of a small, friendly and ambitious fundraising team.

Position: Fundraising Manager

About the role:

The fundraising team raise approximately £400K annually and aspiring to grow by over half a million by 2025. You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.
• Carry out effective prospect research.
• Engage companies in our sporting challenges.
• Nurture effective relationships with corporate partners to achieve the best outcomes for the charity.
• Manage and grow the charities portfolio of challenge events to maximise income from this fundraising stream to achieve and exceed set income and expenditure targets, offering opportunities for engagement, and fundraising across the calendar year.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024).

We’re looking for a Challenge Events Manager to join our Sports and Challenge Events Team managing an innovative and evolving portfolio of mass participation events, including the mighty London Marathon.

The Head of Programmes, forming part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and reporting directly to the CEO, is a critical role holding overall responsibility and management of Youth Realities’ programme delivery and development. 

Youth Realities currently runs four core programmes, underpinning our three outlined priority pillars: prevention, intervention and healing.

• Deepin Relationships - healthy relationships education in communities and schools 
• Young Women's IDVA Support - specialist, long term support for young survivors of abuse and violence in their close relationships 
• Deepin Dance - a weekly dance space for young women aged 16-25 who have survived relationship violence 
• Wellbeing Activities - regular community-based wellbeing workshops, trips and creative days for young people aged 11-25

The charity currently engages over 100 young people each year in intervention and healing activities, with an additional target of 1500 young people per year to be engaged in the Deepin Relationships programme through funding awarded from May 2024 - May 2026.

International Relationship Manager

Role purpose

ShelterBox has a growing network of international supporters who connect with the organisation through our international affiliates - independent charities in their own countries. Affiliates’ supporter growth and engagement activities are enabled by this role with further support from other UK-based teams, including fundraising, brand, content and comms.

ShelterBox has 13 affiliates who are directly helping the organisation achieve one of our strategic objectives of international diversified funding. Affiliates share our mission and consequently raise awareness and funding to support the organisation. Collectively they contribute greatly to engaging with and a global community of supporters. We raise a significant proportion of ShelterBox’s total income through our affiliate network, and from other international donors in countries beyond our affiliates. 

 The purpose of the Interim International Giving Manager role is to support the management of affiliate relationships with ShelterBox by providing a focal point for day-to-day dialogue; to share information and resources effectively across the network; and to develop collaborative working relationships which enhance our supporter experience.

ShelterBox is seeking an inspiring and proactive relationship builder who can take a leading role in the International Giving team. They will be the focal point for providing support to many of our international fundraising staff and volunteers, with a high level of attention to detail and supporter-centric best practice. They be the line manager for other members of the team who have shared responsibility for international supporter growth and engagement.

 Duties include but are not limited to:

• Leading key relationships with affiliate staff and volunteers to execute the strategy for growing diversified international income.
• Line management of the International Giving Executive role to deliver international supporter communications and volunteer engagement. Nurturing their development.
• Supporting delivery of the international Rotary partnership strategy, in collaboration with the Rotary Partnership Manager, by bringing together international fundraisers at key moments in the annual calendar.
• Communicating clear guidance on shared global fundraising priorities, drawing on data and insight to optimise results.
• Working collaboratively with affiliates to contribute to a suite of refreshed brand communication materials.
• Managing the translation of key communications (including subtitles for videos produced by B&C) into languages required by affiliates.
• Supporting enhanced communications with affiliates during times of major disaster
• Proactively identifying growth opportunities and promoting these across the international network
• Facilitating consistent application of the joint ShelterBox and Rotary brand guidelines.
• Leading the design and delivery of the annual International Fundraising Conference.
• Travelling internationally to fundraising events or meetings with affiliates
• Maintaining an up-to-date contact list for affiliates together with records of reports, meetings and plans
• Maintaining an up-to-date record of correspondence, meeting minutes and actions taken
• Manage financial processes related to international income including annual budget-setting and quarterly reforecasting.
• Deliver data for reporting on the agreed set of financial and non-financial KPIs.
• Liaising with Finance to facilitate the receipt of grants from Affiliates and any other fund transfers.
• Liaising with Procurement to facilitate the planning of any expenditure and/or the process through which purchases are made.
• Other administrative duties that may be required by the team from time to time.

We are recruiting a Stories Manager to develop and drive our strategy to put the stories of our volunteers, callers and fundraisers at the front of our communications and fundraising work. 

This role is an exciting opportunity for a candidate experienced in working with case studies and storytellers who can efficiently manage a range of different stories sensitively and with confidence. If successful, you will lead the Samaritans case study function, support the organisation with its handling of real life stories and manage the relevant systems and processes. 

Storytelling is not only central to the way we communicate but it is central to our theory of change. We know that in sharing personal stories we can help others who are struggling find courage to seek help. We can tackle the stigma surrounding suicide. Storytelling and lived experience cuts right across media and campaigns, fundraising, events, policy and influencing work and support.​

This role will develop and implement a strategy to support the organisation (primarily the media, fundraising and individual giving teams) to champion the voices of those who have used our service, or have experience of suicidal feelings within our press activity, cash appeals, fundraising events and campaigns and policy work. This role will help bring Samaritans brand and work to life.

Skills and Experience 

• You’ll be a compassionate and talented story-teller, with a journalistic or similar background. 
• Experienced in case study management and stewardship, ideally in the charity sector, you’ll be passionate about our cause and keen to utilise your expertise in sourcing, interviewing and presenting people’s stories in a range of engaging ways and through different channels, including feature articles in the mainstream media, social media content and videos.
• A passion for People with adept interpersonal and communication skills, you’ll build new relationships with sensitivity and an understanding of the lives of those affected by suicide 
• Along with the principles of safeguarding and ethical storytelling practice.

As Fundraising Manager, you will support the team to develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with supporters, managing a small portfolio of your own donors and leading on the day-to-day contact with corporate partners and event sponsors.

As Fundraising Manager, you will:

• Manage a pool of HNWIs, corporate partners and event sponsors focusing on delivering compelling stewardship plans to deepen relationships with supporters and secure income
• Proactively identify and research major donor and corporate prospects, and develop individual cultivation plans to move along the pipeline
• Create high-quality and innovative pitches and presentations to engage prospective donors/partners
• Manage relationships with event sponsors ensuring key deliverables are met
• Support the delivery of Elephant Family’s renowned events, primarily focusing on managing the relationships with guests, event partners, and sponsors
• Work with the Programmes team to identify funding opportunities aligned to donors’ interests and current funding needs
• Take ownership of the database (Salesforce) ensuring donor records are up-to-date to allow for effective supporter communications and engagement

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of managing relationships with HNWIs and corporate partners at the 5-figure+ level
• Proven experience of soliciting and securing support from prospects
• Strong writing skills with ability to create engaging content, proposals, pitches, presentations, reports and other donor communications
• Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and proven ability to manage a varied workload
• Strong communication and networking skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders of all levels (SMT, Trustees, senior volunteers, donors, partners, colleagues)
• Database management skills
