Vehicles for Change (T/A RevoLOOtion) is a thriving charity founded in 2018 providing fully accessible mobile toilets to festivals, shows, outdoor events and sporting fixtures across the UK.

Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. We are an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. 

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this. 

Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD.  We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. And we’re here to support every family affected and ensure that they receive the best possible care. We aim not only to improve quality of live but stop the disease in its tracks. We’re doing it faster too, because this generation of patients can’t wait.

Alex and Emily were awarded OBEs in The King’s Birthday Honours List in 2023 in recognition of their services to charity and to people living with DMD. They, and the dedicated and effective team they have built at Duchenne UK, are now at the forefront of this work in the UK.

We have an opportunity to join our team and build on these achievements. We are recruiting for a full-time Fundraising Manager, who will be a key part of our team and play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals. The Fundraising Manager will report to the Director of Fundraising and line manage the Fundraising Assistant. They will work closely the rest of the organisation, including the Communications, Finance and Research Teams as well as having the opportunity to work alongside the CEO and Managing Director.

Job Description

This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community.  A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.

You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.

The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.

Fundraising and business development

• Community
  • Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
  • Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy
• Events, Challenge and Campaigns
  • Manage and grow the challenge events portfolio
  • Project manage community events and Duchenne UK campaigns
  • Oversee the whole event process from developing a business case and objectives, to budget, project management and event follow up with relevant agencies and suppliers to deliver events within budget

  • Manage Corporate partnerships, with support from the Fundraising Director
• Stewardship and income development
  • Develop and deepen existing donor relationships, ensuring that the organisation maintains effective communications and good relations with our donors at every level and that they are updated on our work and impact
  • Oversee management of regular giving, including working with the Communications team to promote this type of giving. Provide stewardship to Regular Givers, with support from the Fundraising Assistant.
  • Lead the identification and development of new income sources with the support of the Fundraising team to increase donations, improve the profile of Duchenne UK and enhance our reputation within the donor community; including corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, third party activity, challenge events, regular giving and legacy
  • Represent the organisation at meetings with donors and external events
• Monitoring and evaluation
  • Support the development and implementation of the new Sales Force database (launching July 2024)
  • Monthly monitoring and evaluation of fundraising activity
  • Review fundraising and engagement for each Duchenne UK event and campaign with the support of the Fundraising Team.

We are a small organization with a culture of ‘can do’ and everyone mucking in. We currently do not have a fundraising team but anticipate the Head of Fundraising will build such a team on the back of increased income generation. 

Your role:  In this role, the fundraiser will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to identify fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, the fundraiser will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the Commonwork Trust closer to its financial goals.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organised with a strong track record of successful fundraising. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of the Commonwork Trust and has exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategising and delivering on new ones.

• Fundraising experience – you will have at least three years of experience at developing a fundraising strategy and understanding how different income streams operate with a strong track record in securing income 

• Demonstrable experience in securing funding – you will have experience in identifying key voluntary income streams and securing funding support from trusts and foundations, and be comfortable with ‘making the ask’ of wealthy individuals 

• Grant funding – you will have a strong track record of identifying, securing and monitoring grant funding. 

• Communication skills – you will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills 

• Leadership skills – you will have experience in leading and motivating colleagues and volunteers 

• Charity experience – you will have worked in the charitable sector, preferably with a focus on environmental issues and have an understanding of how a mission-based organisation operates and the wider sector considerations that a charity operates within 

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

• Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising would be a bonus

Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

Philanthropy Manager

Up to £45,000 per annum + benefits (inc 25 days holiday days annual leave and pension)

About the role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to proactively lead the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, trusts and statutory bodies, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Engagement, the Philanthropy Manager will drive the growth of a portfolio of existing supporters and new prospects giving at the five and six figure gift level, with a particular focus on generating major gifts from new donors. The postholder will think strategically to develop inspiring fundraising cases of support, and impact reporting working closely with Care service colleagues, the finance team and the wider fundraising and engagement team.

This role has line management responsibility for three experienced fundraisers who manage their own portfolios of Major Donors, Trusts, and Foundations.

What we’re looking for:

· An experienced and enthusiastic Philanthropy Manager – with a track record of achieving challenging income targets and effective prospect management. Applications will be particularly welcome from those with a background in a children’s charity or SME with ownership of strategic planning.

This is an exciting opportunity for a major donor fundraiser to join CSW, to initiate and develop strong relationships with individuals and corporates who have the capacity to make significant donations to CSW and to steward these relationships towards deeper engagement with CSW year after year.

Key Responsibilities (a full list of responsibilities is listed in the Application Pack)

• Develop a Major Gifts strategy that delivers agreed income goals and leads to increased and multi-year financial commitments from Major Donors.
• Develop individual cultivation plans for Major Donors that provide opportunities for them to make impactful gifts, pray and campaign.
• Research and write funding proposals and cases for support and adapt as needed.
• Produce and send regular letters and reports demonstrating the impact of gifts.
• Develop relationships with a small pool of Corporates that leads to increased engagement and income generation.

You have strong inter-personal skills which you are able to use to build internal and external relationships. • A minimum of three years’ major donor fundraising experience for a charity.
• Proven track record of securing five-figure and six-figure gifts from major donors.
• Experience of providing excellent stewardship to major donors.
• Excellent communication skills, especially verbal and written English
• Writing compelling funding applications/ proposals that match donors’ interests with CSW’s mission and activities.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Senior Income Generation Manager, you will be instrumental in spearheading income generation initiatives to achieve our Business Plan objectives. Working closely with the Head of Development and Quality, as well as our Senior Leadership Team, you will envision income generation proposals that leverage our strengths and foster synergies within our community-based services. Your strategic leadership and partnership development skills will be crucial in driving our mission forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researching, applying for, and managing grants, tenders, and bids, in collaboration with our Business Development Officer.
• Overseeing the Fundraising Manager and their team to maximise fundraised income through community engagement and achieve targets for service expansion.
• Collaborating with the Communications Manager to raise awareness of our services and funding needs.
• Leading strategic initiatives to foster partnerships and secure sustainable funding sources.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Good understanding of funding sources for the public and voluntary sector, particularly within homelessness services.
• Familiarity with commissioning and procurement processes related to the voluntary sector.
• Experience in managing or delivering fundraising targets and creating comprehensive fundraising strategies.
• Proven track record in successful bid and grant applications, from conception to delivery.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in utilising data to develop business cases and communication strategies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Changing Faces are looking for a new business specialist to help grow corporate partnership income at Changing Faces. This role will be 90% focused on new business with a 10% account management split.

You will have an excellent network of corporate funders and a proven track record of successfully bidding, winning and managing corporate fundraising partnerships. The role will suit someone with excellent communication and relationship building skills along with plenty of creative ideas to engage potential partners and win pitches.

As Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will: 

• Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships at five and six figure level
• Secure new corporate partnerships including corporate foundations, Charity of the Year, cause related marketing and strategic partnerships
• Be a senior brand ambassador for the charity, engaging and developing effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Build a robust pipeline of partnerships opportunities

Joe’s Buddy Line is seeking a new organisational leader; a hands-on Chief Officer who can build on the great work already undertaken by our Trustees to deliver high impact mental health support services to schools and Universities; currently in London and the South East, but with ambitions to grow across England and Wales.

Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.

During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.

We are now looking for a resilient, driven and inspirational individual to provide energy, strategic vision and operational management for our small and growing charity.

The successful candidate will bring a track record of effectively overseeing the day to day service delivery for a small charity, prudent financial management and an innovative approach to source and secure new opportunities for the Charity.

It is essential that the post holder must also be able to help us transition from a predominantly volunteer led charity to a vibrant fully sustainable organisation with salaried staff.

VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).

You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.

With a good understanding and knowledge of grants and trusts fundraising, you will also help direct our future – with consideration to community fundraising, charity shop and/or social enterprise. Whilst we’ve many ideas about what it might look like, no decisions have yet been made and we’re keen to work collaboratively with our new fundraiser and hear their vision.

At VOICES, we have big ambitions which would cement our role as sector leader in recovery services and ensuring survivors’ voices remain at the heart of policy and practice.

This role will also involve working to help develop VOICES’ name, increasing community awareness of our charity. You will therefore bring with you, knowledge of social media, marketing and communications and/or a willingness to learn.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation’s voluntary income capacity to meet its aims and objectives.

- Oversee and support the development of fundraising, with consideration to diversifying our income avenues.

- Working closely with the CEO and Finance Assistant, maintain an overview of funding across the organisation and analyse income sources to manage the fundraising strategy, assess progress against targets and contribute towards our financial capacity.

- Absorb the knowledge of the team and consult with them regarding priorities, representation, approach and model.

- Work with the CEO to develop high quality grants and trusts applications (our current main source of income).

- Build on our existing corporate partnerships and establish / develop new corporate partnerships for VOICES.

- Attend Finance Committee meetings and the Board of Trustees, reporting on fundraising and progress against the strategy.

- Help to grow the name of VOICES, through use of relationships, partnerships, marketing and communications.

- Work closely with the Centre Administrator to agree a planned approach to social media.

- Working with the VOICES team, consider the role of volunteers in VOICES – taking management responsibility for any fundraising volunteers.

- In line with our trauma-informed ethos, adopt a trauma-informed approach.

- Work with clients, including the Lived Experience Group, to hear their ideas for fundraising and enable their participation in events / volunteer opportunities where appropriate.

- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including Clients, funders (including trusts, companies, major donors), Trustees and volunteers.

- Continuously monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, taking corrective action or enhancing them when necessary

Smart Works Reading is an ambitious, rapidly expanding charity, empowering women to regain their confidence and secure employment across the Thames Valley. We are seeking an experienced and driven Fundraising Manager to spearhead our fundraising efforts and cultivate sustainable revenue streams.  Join our small, passionate team to empower women back into employment.

We are seeking an experienced permanent Fundraising Manager for an experienced major donor fundraiser to make a significant difference and work in close partnership with both our Board of Trustees and the head office in London.  

The successful post holder will be forging relationships with local businesses, as well as researching and building a strong pipeline of grant funders and five and six-figure gifts from Trusts & Foundations, including core funding and restricted funding.

• Develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, cultivating relationships to secure substantial philanthropic gifts
• Project lead our flagship Cycle for Smart Works challenge, recruiting teams to achieve £50K+ revenue
• Research and identify prospective grantfunders, writing and submitting high-quality applications and proposals
• Delivering excellent grant management and stewardship updates
• Represent Smart Works Reading at high-profile events and meetings, engaging with influential individuals and key stakeholders

What you'll have 

• Experience in securing five and six-figure income from a variety of philanthropic sources, including corporate partnerships
• Entrepreneurial mindset towards our fundraising strategy
• Proven success in identifying, cultivating, and inspiring donors to support the cause
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, tailored to various audiences and platforms
• Experience working with grant applications and/or funding proposals and utilising a range of tools to identify new funding opportunities
• Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact
