You will be instrumental in the quality and impactful implementation, delivery and retention of our sites. You will oversee the delivery of exceptional outcomes in support of the charity's mission. You will work as part of a Regional/Country team to deliver outstanding programmes across your geography, establishing and leading partnerships throughout the life of a programme.
Regular travel throughout your geographical location will be required, with occasional travel to other areas of the UK, NI and Iberia. Please stipulate which role you are applying for (North of England or Nationwide).
In addition, occasional international travel may be required, for example to the annual conference in the United States.
You will report to either Regional/Country Lead within the Delivery & Partnerships team or the Associate Director of Business Development (depending on the scope of your role).

Key Responsibilities

This role is essential in our drive for evidencing the impact of the work we do. You will lead and manage a large-scale, multi-organisation piece of research aiming to highlight the impact of our programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring the main research project and any supplementary research projects are delivered efficiently and ethically. You will use data and evidence to inform practice and work closely with the Programme Specialist for Pilots and the wider Quality and Impact Team as required. Additionally, you will project manage additional cross-organisational projects as required in support of our growing charity.
This is role is a fixed-term contract for 18 months.
Travel throughout the UK may be required.
You will report to the Head of Quality and Impact.
Key Responsibilities
· You will be accountable for the oversight of the main research and any supplementary research projects from initiation to completion.
· You will collaborate with the Programme Specialist for Pilots and the Associate Director of Business Development to ensure delivery of the research and ensure alignment and fidelity to the research plan.
· You will work with the Head of Quality and Impact and Finance Team to ensure that the project/s meet agreed objectives, timelines and budgets.
· You will support the development of project documentation.
· You will deliver reports and presentations as required both internally and externally from DFN Project SEARCH to share information regarding the research project.
· You will be accountable for collecting, analysing and reporting on data that is relevant to the organisation.

Employment and Progression Coordinator
Salary: £30,000 per annum, pro-rata (£24,000 per annum for 28 hours per week)
Hours: 28 hours a week, spread across Monday to Saturday (mostly Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with occasional Saturday work to support projects)
Contract: Fixed Term until August 2028

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs). Guided by the Social Model of Disability, we work to remove barriers and promote equality, inclusion and choice for all Disabled people.
AoD is a medium-sized charity with a Board of Trustees, 27 staff, and a strong pool of casual staff and volunteers. Many of whom have lived experience of disability. We are proud that 100% of our Board and 54% of our staff identify as Disabled.
We deliver four key services: Youth, Employment, Welfare Benefits, and Independent Living.
AoD’s Employment Service
The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We are at the forefront of setting up and delivering supported internships for Disabled young people. We provide an holistic service from management and employer engagement to hands-on, supervised support work across all sites.
Our Employment Service welcomes external referrals and offers support for Disabled people via our in-work support service.
We are looking to recruit several support workers to expand our pool.
Purpose of the Role
The Employment and Progression Coordinator supports Disabled young people and adults to move into and thrive in paid employment. Working within AoD’s Employment and Supported Internship programmes, the postholder will provide person-centred guidance, job coaching, and practical in-work support.
The role includes supporting current and past interns, working alongside employers to create inclusive opportunities, and promoting the benefits of employing Disabled people.
Main Responsibilities
Supporting current and past Disabled Interns
- Provide 1:1 and group support to enable people to explore their skills, interests and aspirations, and move into meaningful paid work.
 - Support participants to understand their rights at work and access reasonable adjustments.
 
Employer Engagement and Development
- Build and maintain positive relationships with a range of employers to create and sustain inclusive job and internship opportunities.
 - Encourage employers to adapt roles where needed and to provide a supportive working environment.
 
Programme Delivery and Administration
- Support the delivery of the Employment and Supported Internship programmes, including one-to-one sessions, group activities, and outreach events.
 - Support the planning and recording of participant journeys, including achievements, placements and outcomes, using Salesforce and other tools.
 - Work in line with AoD’s aims, values and the Social Model of Disability.
 
Additional Information
- Some evening or weekend work may occasionally be required.
 - An enhanced DBS check will be required.
 - Travel across Greater London will be required; travel expenses reimbursed according to policy.

AoD’s Employment Service
The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We have carved out a role, and reputation, for setting up and delivering supported internships for people with learning disabilities. We provide management, job coaching and employer engagement for over 50 young people with learning disabilities each year across our 6 internship sites.
We are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.
Background
Action on Disability is the supported employment service partner on a number of supported internships for young people with learning disabilities around West and South London. They are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.
The Post
The purpose of the job is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities (17+) within their workplaces. You will support interns/graduates to become independent in their roles and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed. You will work closely with the employer to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern/employee once your support has been withdrawn.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out a detailed job analysis of potential jobs / work placements
 - To carry out detailed job matching of service users and jobs
 - To comprehensively learn jobs across different sectors – not restricted to but potentially including – Catering, Customer Service, Administration, IT and Retail
 - To implement training/coaching plans which will enable the candidates to fulfil their roles to employer standards
 - To conduct regular reviews to ensure candidates are progressing within their roles and to identify and meet new support needs
 - To build up natural support within employers and taper off one 1:1 job coaching over time
 - To negotiate and implement disability-related reasonable adjustments on an individual basis
 - To identify client’s skills, strengths, interests and aspirations to inform an ongoing vocational profile
 - To liaise with managers to discuss progress and respond to issues

Person Specification
Essential
- High expectations for the employment potential of young people with learning disabilities
 - Experience of training, education or employment support delivery for marginalised groups
 - Significant and demonstrable experience of supporting people facing complex barriers to achieve their goals
 - An understanding of the needs of employers and the benefits to business of having a diverse workforce
 - An understanding of the Social Model of Disability and its practical application
 - Ability and willingness to learn and carry out all tasks within a variety of jobs, in order to be able to coach the client
 - Demonstrable experience of success in building strong and positive relationships and rapport with a wide variety of people and organisations
 - Demonstrable problem-solving skills and experience
 - Excellent negotiation skills
 - Demonstrable ability to communicate with a wide range of people
 - Good organisational skills and ability to keep accurate records and case notes
 - Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and the internet and a good level of computer literacy.
 - Being willing and able to travel easily within the boroughs of London relevant to the role
 - To be available for work during some unsocial hours according to the demands of the work
 
Desirable
- Qualification in Advice and Guidance/Supported Employment/Youth Work or Training
