Our Supported Internship programme offers a blend of classroom-based learning and hands-on experience within a real workplace environment with the Harington Gardeners and/or the Charity Shops. 

As a Supported Internship tutor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and inspiring our interns as they begin be their journey towards meaningful employment. You will facilitate a supportive learning environment where interns are immersed in real workplace settings, receiving continuous feedback and honing their employability skills. Your dedication and expertise will equip our interns with the confidence and competencies needed to thrive in adulthood and competitive employment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• To effectively plan and deliver an employability curriculum whilst embedding functional skills (Entry 3-Level 2) and/or delivering maths and English qualifications at these levels. 
• Provide engaging teaching sessions that promote skilsl development and independence in the workplace.
• Implement appropriate assessment, target setting, recording, reporting and evaluation of the progress of the interns. 
• Identify interns skills to enable them to participate in a variety of work-based tasks to build marketable, competitive skills leading to employment. 
• Collaborate with the employers (Gardeners and Charity Shops) to create meaningful internship opportunities and facilitate successful work placements.
• To work alongside job coaches to perform specific workplace analysis, job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities
• To seek appropriate future employment consistent with the interns interests and skills 
• As a personal tutor, be responsible for the emotional and social welfare of the interns. 
• Work with parents, local authorities and other supported internship stakeholders to support the progression of the interns

Job Purpose

The Communications Manager will play a leading role in driving Career Ready’s communications activity, working alongside the Head of Communications and colleagues across the charity.

This role will put you at the heart of a range of projects, ensuring that we provide high-quality communications and content that support our programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and brand awareness.

Role Responsibilities

Stakeholder communications

· Work with the Head of Communications and other internal stakeholders to author and distribute stakeholder communications via relevant channels to support partnership and programme delivery.

· Deliver key colleague communications, including weekly and monthly staff bulletins, and surveys, aligning it to the strategic purpose of the charity and ensuring effective knowledge sharing and staff engagement.

· Support with the delivery of stakeholder marketing campaigns across a range of audiences.

Content and resource production

· Develop and implement a social media content strategy, including day-to-day channel management. 

· Support with the writing, editing, and collation of written content, including case studies, blog content, and news articles.

· Update and produce key publications for our programme delivery, including liaising with colleagues and suppliers to oversee design, content, and production in line with our brand guidelines.

· Work independently and with the Head of Communications and external providers on the creation of creative media content, including photoshoots, graphics, and videos.  

Brand assurance

· Provide advice and guidance to colleagues to ensure all communications are in line with our brand guidelines and tone of voice.

· Help to develop and implement brand assets for use by all colleagues.  

Wider responsibilities

· The post holder will have additional responsibilities and projects set by the Head of Communications, including but not limited to website maintenance, event support, and supporting press and media engagement.

Person Specification

Essential skills and experience:

· Demonstrable experience of working in an internal, fast-paced communications-based role

· Excellent planning and project management skills, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.

· Strong writing, editing, and visual skills.

· Experience of using Adobe design platforms (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

· Experience of using email distribution platforms (Campaign Monitor or similar).

The Operations Manager is responsible for Dose of Nature’s day-to-day operational management, providing a welcoming and efficient front face and ensuring organisational effectiveness to support the delivery of Dose of Nature’s strategic objectives. Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Our Dose of Nature Prescription Programme is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature, and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing. The role is 37.5 hours per week and will involve working at Pensford Field, Kew, Monday to Wednesday from 9am-5:30pm and from home Thursday and Friday 9-5:30pm.

At FearFree we are proud to deliver services across the Southwest, and we're excited to be expanding our offer, with the introduction of a new Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Service.  We have a full time vacancy (37 hours per week) and a part time vacancy (22.5 hours per week).

As a Support Advisor you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the ETE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Devon. The project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
• Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
• Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
• Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of the ETE sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. £18,975 for 22 hours, FTE salary is £31,051

In this varied and rewarding role you will develop and coordinate our team of volunteers and Sessional Workers (zero hours youth workers).  You will be instrumental in defining our volunteer strategy moving forward and identify other participation opportunities such as work experience placements, university placements, internships and apprenticeships.

You will also help develop internal engagement activities and participate in external awareness raising and fundraising activities, to support both volunteering and fundraising.

This role is for 22 hours per week, which will ideally be worked over 4 days.   There is the option of hybrid working.   We provide a surrey wide service, so the successful applicant will be willing to travel across the county to meet volunteers and sessionals as  well as participate in engagement opportunities.

Key responsibilities

Full duties are included in the job outline, key responsibilities include:

• To coordinate the recruitment and induction process for volunteers and sessional workers.
• To coordinate, develop and deliver appropriate induction, training and supervision activities.
• To act as a central point of contact for volunteers and sessional workers
• To embed good practice in every aspect of the volunteer & sessional worker journey.
• To develop and manage partnerships with external stakeholders including Universities/volunteering hubs, local businesses and community groups to encourage a range of opportunities.
• To organise and attend community events and organise recruitment workshops and talks, across the county.
• To support the HR Manager by organising engagement activities and forums for our own staff, sessionals, volunteers and other stakeholders.
• To undertake ad hoc work for our fundraising function, to support our community fundraising efforts.
• To coordinate sessional work opportunities.

About you

You must:

• Have proven experience of recruiting and managing volunteers
• Have experience delivering information or training
• Have experience with having difficult conversations with volunteers or workers
• Have experience of working across different teams, networking and developing links with other agencies
• Be an effective communicator, with strong written communication skills
• Be able to multi-task, plan a workload, set priorities and manage time effectively, working without direct supervision
• Have a good professional knowledge of standard Microsoft packages and databases
• Ideally, have a driving license and use of own vehicle. Mileage expenses are paid.
