Your purpose

To deliver a high quality experience to schools in your region through expert relationship management and delivery of specific project outcomes: driving high levels of engagement, retention and renewal and enabling Voice 21 to have the greatest impact in each Voice 21 Oracy School.

Your responsibilities

Relationship management and Group Project delivery

• Build and manage strong relationships with member schools and key stakeholders at all levels, across your region in order to add value to their membership, driving engagement, long term loyalty and ultimately impact in our schools.

• Use your understanding of member schools in your region to create ‘wow moments’ across the membership journey (e.g. dropping in to meet with key stakeholders or setting up virtual networking opportunities).

• Manage the delivery of group projects in your region, reporting to group commissioners or funders on progress. 

• Represent Voice 21 effectively to external audiences in meetings and events. Develop our regional network through events. Arrange & attend open mornings with current member schools and support with additional event organisation and delivery as required with support from product and events leads.

School journey and experience

• Provide an excellent customer experience for member schools and key stakeholders (e.g. Local Authorities and Multi-Academy Trusts) from sign up through to renewal, acting as the first point of contact for your Voice 21 Oracy Schools.

• Own the membership journey and school experience for your region, including the underlying processes, activities and comms that support membership.

• Gain frontline insights from listening to member schools in your region - collect, track and analyse data about their patterns of behaviour and use these insights to improve their experience.

• Use your understanding of our membership offer to support and guide schools in your region to access member benefits that best meet their needs, are most impactful for their students and steward them towards accreditation (e.g. use diagnostic tools to set action plans for the membership year and signpost to Voice 21 products, resources and events).

• Bring together data (from our CRM system, our Programme team and impact and engagement monitoring) to understand and own the ‘complete picture’ of each school’s member journey in your region - use insights to manage and increase engagement; proactively share insights gained, internally (e.g. with the Programme team about attendance or school feedback) and externally (reporting to a group project commissioner or funder). 

• Own membership renewals in your region, helping the Engagement team to deliver our annual school renewal targets (70%+).

Your progression

Within 1 month, you’ll have:

• Got to know all of the different elements which go into our membership offer through experiencing them first hand. 

• Gained insight into the impact of our membership offer on children and young people’s learning and life chances, by visiting Voice 21 Oracy Schools. 

• Began to get to know the key stakeholders and member schools in your region.

• Built relationships with your closest colleagues in our Experience, and Programmes teams. 

Within 3 months, you’ll have: 

• Built relationships with the key stakeholders and member schools in your region.

• Supported member schools in your region to get started on their membership journey and to access membership benefits.

• Become confident using our CRM (Salesforce) to provide key data you need for success in your role.

Within 6 months, you’ll have: 

• Begun to monitor experience and engagement of member schools in your region and identify strategies to help schools get the most out of their membership.

• Delivered & supported regional network events and reflected on how these went with the team.

• Lead a cycle of renewal in your region and use this to identify areas of strength/development.

From 6 months onwards, we expect for you to be:

• Taking ownership of the member journey and school experience of schools in your region.

• Proactively sharing insights from the frontline with the team to improve experience and engagement.

• Developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders and identifying opportunities to grow our school network in your region.

Location: Remote with a focus on the East Midlands & East of England.

This role requires regular travel to London, occasional within the region & nationally. This includes visiting schools, attending development days, meetings, and industry events. Some overnight stays will be required.

SUMMARY

Position Title:  Operations Lead

Level: Level 4

Salary: £31, 320 - 36, 720 (FTE yearly)

Reports to: Director of Finance, HR and Operations

Location: Liberation centre Brixton,  London (New office in Brixton)/ Remote working within the UK with at least 2 days work from our office (Pro rata for part time)

Contract: Part time (32hrs/weekly),  fixed-term contract for 2 years, with potential for extension and role expansion.

Hours: TAA has flexible working hours, with some expected evenings and weekends due to the nature of the role. All extra hours are reimbursed as Time off in Lieu (TOIL).

Start date:  As soon as possible (potentially August)

The Advocacy Academy is an activist youth movement. We serve as the political home for grassroots youth organising and the catalyst for collective action. The lives of the young people we work alongside have been directly shaped by living in an unjust world, and we exist to turn their anger into action. 

Young people are often the catalysts for major social change, from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, to the Soweto Uprising mobilising young people to resist the apartheid regime's education policies, to the Sunrise Movement redrawing the electoral map across America, and more recently encampments and protests across the world protesting the genocide in Palestine. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective. 

This is why we are looking for an Operations Lead capable of envisioning the full journey of a young person through their time with The Advocacy Academy from the first activation point to whenever they choose to end their journey with us. We want someone who is excited work with us in creating an environment that supports our mission and aspiration for our young people.

We want our young leaders to win and to build real power across the UK that ensures that the generations that follow aren’t just inheriting our mess, but our equipped and ready to fix it. That is why we are looking for someone passionate, a trusted partner, and the go-to person who will support us in all aspects of facility management. Working closely with the Operations and Community team, you will be responsible for the physical spaces and infrastructure within TAA. This includes overseeing the maintenance, security, and functionality of the Liberation Centre, equipment, and physical assets. Your focus is on the efficient operation of the physical environment.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. You will become a key member of the Finance, HR & Operations Team, including but not limited to:
   1. Supporting the Director of Finance, HR & Operations in maintaining and improving the relevant operational systems and processes.
   2. Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations in ensuring the delivery of our Liberation Centre strategy: working closely with the Community team to ensure the Centre provides a functional, welcoming, inclusive, and safe space environment for our staff, young people, and community.
   3. Building relationships with other departments, engaging with them to understand their needs, and communicating regular Operations updates.
2. You will ensure that your responsibilities run like well-oiled machines by being a conductor of the orchestra through becoming a key member of the Finance, HR and Operations team supporting the team to achieve their strategic objectives for the year:
   1. Provide Support for TAA’s facilities, including cost savings and ensuring a safe and conducive work environment for our staff, members, and community groups by:
      • Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Ops in ensuring the maintenance of our Liberation Centre, which includes: establishing protocols and processes for healthy work environments, supporting in making the space accessible and safe for all its user groups.
      • Supporting maintenance and safety checks are regularly carried out at the Liberation Centre, including security and fire systems, evacuation, and emergency drills.
      • Acting as the main point of contact with the council and centre manager and liaising on matters related to maintenance and repair.
      • Being the main point of contact for building contractors.
      • Supporting with identifying first aiders and marshals, acting as one of them, and ensuring that the first aid box is adequately stocked up at the Liberation Centre and that the fire extinguishers are within date.
      • Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations with the development of applicable risk assessment forms (e.g., general risk assessment for the Liberation Centre, fire risk assessment, COVID, remote work, employee wellbeing, incident report, etc.) and their completion as may be required.
      • Rolling out mandatory Health and Safety training courses and undergoing regular H&S training to keep your knowledge updated and informed of changes in regulations.
      • Ensuring the space is well-stocked, and holding our procurement practices 
      • Liaising with our cleaner and making sure that the relationship works well and that the cleaner is supported in their access of the space
      • Supporting the Community team in holding overall safety practices for the Liberation Centre 
   2. Provide Support on TAA IT infrastructure, to include but not limited to:
      • Act as the primary point of contact for our IT support provider, engaging with them to ensure they are managing troubleshooting and issue resolution well.
      • Support the Finance, HR and Ops Director with planning for future IT infrastructure needs, keeping scalability and cost-efficiency in mind.
      • Assist the Director Finance and Resources with monitoring IT and data protection compliance throughout the organisation, ensuring secure data storage, transfers, archiving and deletion.
      • Sourcing and Setting up laptops and phones for staff, and supporting staff in using tech as part of inductions.
      • Keep updated with changes in legislation that may need to be considered within The Advocacy Academy’s facilities and IT management.
      • Managing our trello project management tool.
      • Leading on tech repair via apple support or penelope for the staff team
   3. Provide HR support, to include but not limited to
      • Supporting the Head of People with DBS checks and the onboarding of new staff, ensuring they have the necessary information and equipment for their work.
      • Working with the Head of People to ensure that all our candidates have a great experience from the beginning to the end. 
      • Support with Office induction for new starters.
      • Supporting with planning social events.
      • Supporting on tech off  boarding for staff leaving
   4. Provide M & E Support, to include but not limited to
      • Coordinating and supporting the implementation of  monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) infrastructure across departments to track impact and efficiency.
      • Managing and optimising Airtable dashboards and databases to streamline data reporting and enable insights for decision-making.
   5. Provide Finance Support, to include but not limited to:
      • Be the main point of contact for our day to day Host finance administration. 
      • Supporting our team with generating sales invoices.
      • Monitoring and responding to our Operations and expenses and invoicing slack and email messages.
      • Processing invoices and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Supporting fundraising team with gift-aid reconciliation.

   1. Work with the Finance, HR and Operations to prioritise and centre risk management in your portfolio: feeding into risk analysis and mitigation, identifying and escalating risks to the strategic objectives, taking the lead to mitigate risks early and thoroughly.
   2. Ensure understanding and compliance with TAA policies and practices and take the lead on their implementation within your portfolio

 | Overview and key points on the role | Rape Crisis South London is looking for a skilled, passionate and professional Multiple Disadvantage ISVA. This is a permanent role with responsibility for supporting women and girls who are survivors of sexual violence, to navigate the criminal justice system. As an Multiple Disadvantage ISVA you will have a good understanding of what constitutes multiple disadvantages, disempowerment, or discrimination, and how they intersect with experiences of sexual violence. You should have experience of providing support to women with multiple complex needs, ideally within the Criminal Justice System. In addition to having excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills you should also be able to develop key relationships with external agencies. You should have demonstrable experience of working with survivors of sexual violence and of working in a trauma-informed way. We will provide clinical supervision, full training and line management, and the opportunity to develop your skillsets. About the Role

Our Lancashire Infant Feeding Support project is commissioned by Lancashire Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.

We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Royal Preston Hospital and on occasion East Lancashire Hospital Trust or Ormskirk District General Hospital as well as community groups and home visits in Central and East Lancashire. This role will mainly be based at out in the community, with some homeworking. Expenses will be reimbursed to/from a base (Royal Preston Hospital).

You will be responsible for offering breastfeeding support for parents within Royal Preston Hospital and on occasion East Lancashire Hospital Trust and Ormskirk District General Hospital and the community.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
 

• Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at the hospitals, in service user homes and community settings within Lancashire.
• Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters. 
• To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.
• To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 
• Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Lancashire area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
• Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires breastfeeding experience of at least 3 months. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 17.5 hours per week which will be worked Monday Tuesday, Friday 09:00 – 15:00. This will be split across the two hospitals, in service user homes and at community settings across Lancashire, however there is also some home-based working required.

You will be leading on the evaluation of this partnership and will work closely with the service delivery teams across Shelter in England and Scotland. You will assess the impact of the work so far with a view to upscaling the partnership in future.

About you

You will have experience of using frameworks to monitor work quality and impact, using data to draw conclusions and make recommendations. Adopting a strategic approach, with knowledge of systems change, research analysis and experience of working with stakeholders, you will have strong problems solving skills and are able to use initiative to get things done. You also have experience of producing high quality written materials as well as verbal presentations tailored to your audience.

Summary and key purpose
 
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
 
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
 
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
 
Your expertise and skills:
 
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
• Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.
• Manage our newly appointed fundraising agency, and in doing so, help deliver an ambitious appeal programme and income target.
• Review and develop operational plans for individual giving (including regular giving, in memory, digital fundraising and appeals) working to achieve agreed targets.
• Communicate and document key performance indicators across individual giving appeals. Ensuring you provide commentary to accompany results reporting, drawing on insights and the wider picture to add context and make recommendations from your learnings.
• Work with the fundraising agency and RABI communications team to produce and edit appropriate collateral.
• Devise and deliver supporter communications, including stewardship activity, welcome journey content and appeal communications.
• Help ensure that we comply with legal and compliance requirements including industry best practice, GDPR/PECR regulations and the CIOF code of Fundraising Practice.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships and liaison with other members of RABI staff.
• Take part and contribute to team meetings.
• Cooperate with RABI on health and safety matters, taking reasonable care of own and other people’s health and safety within the workplace. Follow and H&S training received and alert RABI to any serious risks.
• Actively participate in the staff appraisal scheme and be committed to training and development in line with RABI’s aims and objectives.
• Liaise with volunteers, clients, contractors and other stakeholders as necessary.
• Promote the Charity’s work, assisting with demonstrations and in fundraising and awareness events as appropriate.

Person Specification:
 
Essential

• Marketing or direct marketing or marketing qualification.
• Experience of using direct marketing methods to recruit, retain and develop supporters (e.g. telemarketing).
• Previous direct marketing or transferrable experience. This should include project managing or assisting a project manager to plan and deliver activity and evaluate results
• Planning, delivering and managing individual giving programmes.
• Delivering donor recruitment and retention projects from initiation to completion.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from unrestricted donations.
• Presenting confidently to a variety of audiences.
• Building relationships and maximising engagement with donors and supporters
• Able to create and tailor engaging and emotive copy for a range of different channels.
• Empathy with the goals and objectives of RABI.
• A positive and creative approach to work, with the ability to multitask.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including good telephone manner and empathy towards in-memory donors.
• Ability to record accurate data and work with a CRM system
• Self-motivated and confident in working, both independently and in teams
• Good communicator, including face-to-face, phone, in writing and via remote communications.
• Good written and numeracy skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise workload and plan-ahead.
• Good IT skills (MS Office including Excel and Word).
