The Ancient Tree Forum (ATF) is seeking a motivated and organised Technical and Engagement Officer to join our small, friendly and flexible team. We are working in partnership with Veterans Outreach Support (VOS), an award-winning, UK registered charity that supports those who have served our nation, in the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy, through the provision of welcoming and relaxed settings where UK veterans and family members can access welfare, wellbeing, and mental health support. VOS are well known in the armed forces charity sector for the Drop-In model of support they have developed, focused on close collaboration with delivery partners, and dedicated mental health support. VOS is now seeking a part time Volunteer Coordinator, who will oversee and manage the delivery of volunteer-supported activities and social groups with the aim of improving service user wellbeing through non-clinical means. The post holder will design, develop and deliver a variety of activities, both physical and online, in collaboration with VOS volunteers, delivery partners and activity providers, working closely with other VOS team members providing welfare and clinical support. We are recruiting for a talented Benefits and Debt Worker who has a background in supporting women or children who have experienced domestic violence to make a genuine difference to the lives of survivors. We believe in empowering women and girls to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives and you will play a key role in helping us deliver vital services to those who need them the most. As a Benefits and Debt Worker you will provide service users with advice and support on finance and debt. Carrying out comprehensive assessments, via phone and face-to-face, and you will provide advocacy and support that empowers survivors primarily during crises and in the short term. You will also proactively work with other agencies on the service users’ behalf. You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

To be successful as the Benefits and Debt Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. Bring your experience of providing benefit, and debt advice and successfully, managing high numbers of calls and/or cases and have a solid understanding (possibly experience) of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence.

What you’ll be doing:

As COO, you will play a critical leadership role in the strategic and operational success of LtL. You will work closely with the CEO and the management team to deliver the charity’s vision, overseeing day-to-day project delivery across the UK. You will take the lead for LtL H&S and Safeguarding responsibility alongside deputising for the CEO. It is essential you are happy to and would enjoy frequent travel across the UK.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Operational Leadership.

· Drive operational excellence and innovation in the charity’s systems, processes, and project infrastructure.

Essential

· Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably within the charity, education, or environmental sector.

· One or both of Safeguarding and Health & Safety training qualifications.

· Outstanding project management skills including budgeting, planning, evaluation, and reporting.

Role Overview:

The Head of Governance, Risk & Company Secretary is a pivotal leadership role within St John Ambulance Cymru (SJAC), responsible for ensuring the charity’s governance, legal compliance, risk management, and quality assurance functions are robust, effective, and strategically aligned with our goals.

This dual-role combines governance oversight with the leadership of organisational quality systems, ensuring that SJAC remains a trusted, safe, and high-performing organisation. The postholder will serve as Company Secretary to the Board and also lead operational governance initiatives across the charity.

What you’ll need to be successful

To thrive as our Head of Governance, Risk & Company Secretary, you’ll need leadership experience, particularly in governance, compliance, or quality assurance—ideally within a charity or healthcare setting. You’ll bring a strong understanding of governance codes and/or systems, risk management frameworks, and UK charity law along with the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion. A Chartered Governance Institute (ICSA) qualification or equivalent is desirable, as is experience acting as a Company Secretary. You’ll be confident leading cross-functional teams, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation. Key duties and responsibilities:

Governance and Secretariat

• Lead the governance function, ensuring excellent support and strategic guidance to the Board, Committees, CEO and SLT.

About the role

We are seeking an individual giving officer to support the development and delivery of our individual giving programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our fundraising team, helping to grow income and deepen engagement from our supporter base.

Key duties

• Assist in the planning and implementation of individual giving campaigns that deliver sustainable income growth and long-term donor engagement
• Manage supporter engagement and acquisition across multiple channels including social media, email, SMS, direct mail, and online campaigns
• Work closely with the fundraising, research, and communications teams to ensure successful delivery of individual giving activities
• Oversee data selection for campaigns to optimise return on investment and support testing; ensure data is managed securely and in line with GDPR
• Support reporting and forecasting of financial and non-financial performance across the individual giving programme
• Contribute to the development and launch of a mid-value donor fundraising programme

Skills and experience required

• Proven experience managing projects across direct marketing channels, including both digital and print
• Strong copywriting and creative writing skills

• Confident working with external agencies across creative, print, digital, and media
• Experience supporting the planning and budgeting of individual giving activity

Purpose of the post

To encourage the development of local churches’ response to poverty and social justice across the Diocese of Manchester, with a focus on developing sustainable projects that look to address the root causes of poverty.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Development and Delivery

• Work with the CEO of Greater Together Manchester to develop a work plan for engaging with existing parish based social justice projects and initiatives, with a focus on shifting from crisis response to prevention.
• Provide a range of development support to new projects and initiatives.
• Be the contact person for parishes seeking advice and support on addressing issues of social justice.
• Keep up to date with the work of national, regional and local organisations and charities that work in this space, as well as keeping up to date with government policies, initiatives and communicating these effectively to parishes and communities. 
• Develop effective monitoring and evaluation systems that demonstrate the impact of GTM’s development work.

Revitalisation and Promotion of Church-Based Social Justice Work

• To be an informed and knowledgeable advocate and champion for issues of social justice.

• Raise the profile of church based social justice initiatives and project across the Diocese and amplify the effectiveness and impact of the work of churches in tackling social injustice.
