Caseworker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker to join the Operations team on a hybrid basis working both at home and from one of the hubs across Powys, travel will also be required to the base at Police Headquarters, Llangunnor, Carmarthen.

This role is part-time working 22.5 hours per week across 3 days, Monday to Wednesday.

The Role

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, explain services and assess the impact of crime.

Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred and referred service users, providing information and advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk and needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support and information.
• Identify barriers to accessing services and work with partners to provide ongoing support.
• Keep accurate and confidential case records.

About You

You will have an understanding of the impact of crime on victims and experience in delivering services within a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting.  Experience in managing a caseload and of completing risk and needs assessments would be beneficial. 

You will need:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent IT skills, able to use generic systems.
• Good organisational and time management skills, able to manage competing needs and priorities.
• To work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• To develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external organisations.

As Mass Participation Events Officer (Challenge Events Officer), you will play a key role in engaging supporters to take part in exciting fundraising Challenge Events, from the London Marathon to cycle events and adrenaline fuelled challenges like a sky-dive or abseil, raising vital funds for disabled children and young people. Strategic (20%)
a. To develop CBM UK’s strategic communications objectives and annual plans to enable CBM UK teams to deliver the 2026-2030 strategy.
b. Improve brand definition, messaging and presentation to ensure CBM UK’s work and positioning is communicated effectively to target audiences.
c. Develop and implement clear communications policies and procedures for CBM staff to follow in order to successfully and cohesively represent the CBM brand.

Communications and networking (60%)
External
a. Oversee and deliver media relations activity to meet CBM UK’s objectives. Develop effective working relationships with target media, respond promptly to queries (sometimes out-of-hours). Prepare, issue and ‘sell in’ press releases, ensuring key messages are prominent and act as an organisational media spokesperson. Monitor relevant media coverage to increase effectiveness of activity.
b. Lead and manage the Communications team to deliver communications activity to increase fundraising and advocacy potential from public and sector audiences. This includes responsibility for delivering campaigns, publications, social media posts, blogs and website pages as needed, and acting as an event spokesperson. Content sign-off authority within agreed parameters.
c. Collaborating with the Advocacy and Programmes teams to ensure outputs, evidence and messages are widely disseminated and communicated.

d. Oversee the management and development of the CBM UK website(s) to ensure that it reflects the work, values and mission of CBM UK and that it inspires a range of audiences to take action.
e. Be an outstanding advocate for CBM, delivering communications in line with the vision and values of the charity.

g. In the event of a humanitarian crisis, contribute to developing an emergency appeal.

a. Work with CBM UK and global colleagues and partners to ensure appropriate resources are available. This includes oversight of the collection of human-interest stories, images and film that portray people with dignity and respect, while challenging the stigma and misunderstanding around disability and global poverty.
b. Oversee the implementation of the CBM UK Sector Communications Strategy through attending regular meetings and collaboration with Programme and Advocacy teams. To manage the Communications Team to deliver the communications-led activities outlined in the strategy and ensure advocacy and evidence messaging and outputs are effectively communicated.
c. Build excellent working relationships with the CEO and Board.
d. Regularly review, update and provide training to CBM UK staff on the Crisis Communications Media Plan and be a member of the Crisis Communications Management Team.
e. Help increase CBM UK’s network of high-profile supporters to support fundraising and advocacy: maintain prospects spreadsheet, research contact details and background details, prepare briefs.
f. Support fundraising and advocacy teams to increase CBM UK’s network of high-profile supporters.

Role Overview:

The Senior Designer will help us deliver creative content which encourages our audiences to take action with us. Working across printed assets (such as mailers and brochures) to video (for feedback emails or social media ads) to digital ads (paid social, display etc.), you will have an array of creative skills and won’t be afraid to think outside the box to deliver content which inspires.

Working at a senior level, you will be comfortable managing your briefs and projects, working to deadlines and communicating clearly with stakeholders across the organisation. You will act as a guardian of our brand, delivering creative which meets brand guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

· Produce effective creative assets which inspire our audiences to take action with MH. These assets could be across the following mediums, but not limited to:

o Digital static banners/ads

o Video including reels

o Gifs

o HTML5

o Printed collateral such as brochures or mailers

· Confident working across the full adobe suite, as well as Figma with a willingness to learn new tools as needed.

· Be a guardian of our brand, ensuring all collateral produced fits our brand guidelines.

· As part of the fundraising team, you will lead on creative brainstorming sessions to think about how we can create content which further inspires and engages our audiences – putting the audience’s needs at the forefront of all design choices.

· Design tasks may also be needed to support teams outside of fundraising as needed.

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

· Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and technology to continually improve the team’s output and efficiency.

· Liaise with external vendors and printers to ensure the quality of production materials.

 

Essential:

· High level of graphic design skill including knowledge of print.

· Social media savvy with an eye for spotting upcoming trends we could take part in.

· Clear communicator able to share rationale on creative elements.

· Strong organisation and time management skills.

· Experience in an agile fundraising environment where priorities can change.

· Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.).

· Strong understanding of typography, colour theory, composition, and visual storytelling.

· Experience working in or with nonprofits or mission-driven organisations is highly preferred.

 

Desirable:

· Knowledge of fundraising, preferably in an Islamic charity.

· Experience with task management software.

· A basic understanding of Islamic values and Muslim practices.

· An awareness of Health and Safety values.

· Full licence and access to a car to drive to meet with community leaders, partners potential event venues and collaborators.

The role

We’re seeking a Research Officer to join our fantastic Research team following an internal promotion within the team.

• You will be ensuring that the management of funding rounds is robust, coordinated, and delivered to the highest possible quality, and that the funding rounds we offer address key needs of the research and patient community.
• You will be responsible for managing key stakeholders in the grant funding process, including applicants, award holders and committee members to organise key events.
• You will be liaising with researchers and people with lived experience of pancreatic cancer to coordinate meaningful internal and external public and patient involvement (PPI) through our Research Involvement Network.

About You 

• You will need sound knowledge of research principles and the UK research funding environment.
• Experience of working in a scientific or clinical research context with an undergraduate degree, preferably with a biomedical focus.
• An understanding of patient and public involvement and how to converse with people affected by pancreatic cancer.
• An ability to build relationships and coordinate working with many large and diverse specialist stakeholder groups.

Power2 is a fast growing and energetic youth charity that has supported 27,000 young people since 2001.  We are based in Greater Manchester and London and deliver early-intervention asset-based programmes to young people experiencing vulnerabilities and disadvantages who have mental wellbeing challenges and are disengaged from school and more widely. We are well-known for our accredited Teens and Toddlers programme.

We have been commissioned by the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit to deliver the Another Chance programme in the City of Manchester and North Trafford, supporting young people aged 14-25 involved in group-based serious violent offending to leave a life of violent crime behind them. We are now recruiting Programme Leads to provide 1:1 mentoring support to these young people and to help them access positive support and social services to prevent further offending.

We are particularly looking for people with experience of working with young people aged 14-25 at risk of criminal involvement and exploitation, and their families.
