The role will support a range of communications activities, including digital marketing, campaigns creation, website management, production of assets and promotion of key events.

At Ambitious about Autism, we’re currently looking for a Research Manager to join our External Affairs team.

You’ll conduct and commission research projects, publish and disseminate research findings to ensure we are maximising our reach and impact, and ensure that we are using relevant and up-to-date evidence throughout our work.

You’ll identify key research needs and questions to continually improve our activities and impact for autistic children and young people, drafting briefs and managing independent researchers to deliver projects on time and to budget.

You’ll use both quantitative and qualitative research methods to develop and support co-produced research with autistic children and young people, as well as parents and carers, whilst ensuring that new evidence is embedded into our resources, working collaboratively with the policy, communications, fundraising and service delivery teams to ensure that we maximise the impact of our findings.

The successful candidate will be joining the organisation at an exciting time and this role will play a central role in providing an evidence base for us to influencing Government, as well as enable us to engage media and public attention to our calls for change. It will also look for ways to unlock insight and learning, so we can influence the practice of the wider education sector.

• Strong working knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Proven experience of managing research projects or programmes within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to critique and summaries data and research findings to make recommendations.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex research evidence into forms that are accessible for a range of audiences.
• Ability to effectively prioritise a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities of the MI Data Systems Manager include:

• Supporting the Deputy Director and Senior Systems Manager to develop, implement and manage the MI service.
• Monitoring of data integrity and quality within the database.
• Preparing the submission of mandatory management information to the Department for Education within set deadlines and to national standards.
• Supporting a MI helpline to users of the system.
• Interrogation of the database to conduct analysis and create reports.
• Developing and delivering training in the use of the database.
• Managing a team member.
• Taking lead responsibility for the production, analysis and presentation of MI reports.
• Maintaining a high level of understanding of all national requirements relating to the service.
• Contributing to effective teamwork and information sharing

Role Summary    

This exciting role will enable Alcohol Change UK to reach millions of people across the UK with key messages about alcohol and alcohol harm, delivered through print, online, and broadcast media engagement tactics. With a high level of existing press interest in our work and campaigns (including our flagship Dry January® campaign), this is an exciting moment as we look to develop our proactive media engagement and share reframed stories about alcohol which resonate with a huge audience. Your work will drive significant awareness of our organisation, and ultimately enable millions of people to transform their relationship with alcohol.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities    

Media engagement  

• Manage the organisation’s media inbox and phone line, handling enquiries from journalists and providing responses in a timely manner

• Provide regular out of hours media cover on a rota basis (scaling depending on busier campaign periods, shared fairly with others and TOIL provided for hours worked)

• Develop public media statements and quotes across the whole spectrum of Alcohol Change UK’s work, issuing to press both reactively and proactively

• Provide ongoing development of our key lines library, regularly reviewing responses we have on file for a range of topics 

• Support Alcohol Change UK spokespeople (Chief Executive, Directors and others) prepare for interviews: developing tailored briefings ahead of opportunities, providing a sounding board to rehearse key lines when required and giving feedback on appearances to support ongoing development

• Manage our media database and reporting tools, providing regular condensed reports for the Director of Communications and Marketing/CEO/Board and develop insights-gathering to better inform our media engagement strategy

• With the Director of Communications and Marketing, play a key role in media crisis management, escalating issues as appropriate, suggesting solutions and developing organisational responses to sensitive situations

• Support the deployment of Alcohol Change UK voices, working closely with the Engagement Team to identify Community Champions, Ambassadors and others who are happy to be supported to share their experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm with the media

Developing a new proactive media strategy  

• Plan and deliver a new strategy for generating proactive media coverage, where Alcohol Change UK’s research, campaigns, parliamentary and wider activity connect with larger audiences in a strategic way

• Working closely with teams across the organisation, craft compelling media plans and press releases to generate coverage of our work

• Bring fresh energy to opportunity spotting, securing opinion pieces, expert comment, letters to editors and other ‘newsjacking’ content – particularly on ‘culture change’ topics such as sober shaming and stigma 

• Manage relationships with key journalists in our sector, exploring opportunities for partnerships and exclusives

Campaign media activity  

• Particularly for our flagship Dry January® campaign, and with the support of the Director of Communications and Marketing, develop media support briefs for external media agencies, when required 

• Develop fresh strategies and media angles for annual campaigns (Dry January®, Sober Spring, Alcohol Awareness Week) to keep activity engaging for public and returning audiences

• Think creatively to craft media strategies which are tailored to reach segmented audience groups, aligning with targets for individual campaigns to reach under-served communities 

• Provide detailed campaign media evaluations, insights and learning reports

The Role

In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent. The Act introduces a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Notice (DAPN) to provide immediate protection following a domestic abuse incident, and a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) to provide flexible, longer-term protection for victims. DAPOs can impose both prohibitions and positive requirements on perpetrators. We were commissioned by the Home Office to design a triage model that will assess individuals for the suitability of these interventions; this triage model will be rolled out in the pilot sites which are going live in May 2024 and will be tested and evaluated in order to prepare for national roll out in 2026.The Programme Manager will oversee the roll out and delivery of the DAPO pilot Triage Model.

Bladder Health UK (BHUK) is a small national charity that has developed significantly over the last 10 years. We are now looking for a part-time charity manager who can continue this journey. To succeed in this post, it is essential that you have:

• Have been involved in charity campaign work previously.

Working closely with a committed and extensive team of volunteers and paid staff, and with the support of an established and engaged board of Trustees, you will be steering the work on our vision and leading the team to deliver it.

Key responsibilities:

· Figurehead and ambassador for the organisation. Willing to be available for interviews and talks.

· Decision maker. Brighton Permaculture Trust has always been a collaborative organisation. There will be times when quick or difficult decisions are needed.

· Setting budgets and monitoring finances. Draft budgets for our financial year July 2024 to June 2025 are in place.

· Writing/assisting with funding bids. 

· Formal reporting to the Trustees quarterly, plus monthly opportunities to meet with the Trustees for support, collaboration and feedback.

· Leading monthly meetings with the operational managers. Operational managers cover each key area: Scrumped in Sussex, Community Orchards, Brighton Permaculture Trust Sites, Courses & Events and Admin/Compliance.

· One-to-one meetings with operational managers, key contractors and volunteers as required. These can be online or on-site.

· Supporting the wider team to agree on SMART targets for each project and deliver on our strategic goals.

· Attending Brighton Permaculture Trust Apple Days events (3 per year).

· Being the main point of contact for key relationships, including major donors, funders, partner organisations and Brighton & Hove City Council.

· Presenting our year’s achievements to the members at our AGM.

· Line management of 3-5 operational managers as these roles move to long-term contracts

· Representing the Trust at assorted, infrequent external meetings and events would be desirable and require some flexibility in days/times worked. 

We are looking for a Charity Shop Manager to cover shifts in both of the Harington Charity Shops in North London. The Charity Shop Manager (Cover) role, will be guaranteed 8.5 hours a week in our Hornsey charity shop. In addition to this there may be other variable hours over and above this, where they will be asked to provide cover when the Charity Shop Managers or Shop Assistants are on leave at either the Archway or Hornsey Charity Shops. Please note the salary is £28,598 pro rata depending on the number of hours worked. We are looking for someone who can be extremely flexible and adaptable to change. This would suit someone who is looking for extra hours of work around their other life commitments.

Our two London charity shops are vital in raising funds from the sale of pre-loved, donated stock to fund Harington's work to support young people with learning differences into employment and independence.  But they are more than just shops, they play a vital role in local communities in Hornsey and Archway, offering a warm and welcoming place for people to shop and volunteer.

Harington is an Ofsted regulated specialist college and charity based in north London, working with young people with learning differences aged 16-25. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes that lead to vocational qualifications and other aims, including gardening, retail, English, maths, employability and independent living.  We also deliver a supported internship programme.   

Our charity's learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey alongside our charity's gardening business and two charity shops, provide a unique opportunity for students to practically apply their learning on work experience placements. We also work with other employers toprovide opportunities in other settings to meet the aspirations of our students.  

About the role
This is a new role for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as we look to expand our successful Individual Giving & Lottery programmes.

The post holder will deliver quality fundraising campaigns, including Cash Appeals, Regular Giving and Lottery that will grow income, supporter base and lifetime value. Putting supporters at the heart of the Charity’s work, the role includes acquisition, retention and stewardship of individual donors and lottery players to achieve a sustainable increase in income for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Who we are

We are a medium sized charity supporting children and young people in Surrey and surrounding areas who have been bereaved or who are facing the bereavement of a close family member. We are the only charity in our local community providing a range of services that give the opportunity for children and families to come together in person. We know we make a difference to children and young people at a really difficult time and support them to move forward with their lives.

About the role

Our current director is moving on to a new and challenging role nearer to home. We are seeking a Charity Director to take our strategy forward; we are aiming to reach all children and young people in our local communities who need our support through their bereavement journey and extend the range of services we can provide. This is a broad role in a growing organisation with limited resources, it involves a mix of operational, strategic and external facing activities.

We are looking for a proven leader, with charity experience with enthusiasm for our vision. They will have skills in income generation, fundraising, relationship building, managing a small team of dedicated staff and managing limited resources to provide the largest impact for our children and families. We want our local NHS to be the best it can be for patients, families and staff, as reflected by the significant growth in income over the last few years.

Working with the director, Grants Committee and trustees, the grants manager will ensure he/ she delivers the best possible support and guidance consistently. This will involve developing and perfecting sound grant-making processes, assisting staff with applications, selection, awarding, distribution and monitoring and evaluating outcomes. This person will also lead on maintaining accurate data and supporting the team with progress reporting and stakeholder management. This is a relationship and process-based role which reaches right across all the NHS trust’s services.

This role will also assist the development of communication materials, including the identification of grantees to spotlight through storytelling and sharing content that can be used to promote the impact of the charity’s work through social media and other channels.
