Our operational teams are based across the UK providing specialist support to LGBTQI people on: safe housing; navigating the complex asylum system; addressing homelessness and poverty; tackling social isolation and accessing health care, education, and employment.

Micro Rainbow has ambitions not only to meet fully the demand for safe housing of LGBTQI asylum seekers by increasing the number of its safe houses but also to improve the experience of LGBTQI people seeking asylum and LGBTQI refugees across the UK by providing specialist LGBTQI services.

Micro Rainbow is looking for an Individual Giving Manager to create an individual giving and fundraising strategy for the organisation. In this newly created position, you will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individual supporters to make a difference to the lives of LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. As Individual Giving Manager you will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and upgrade Micro Rainbow’s allies (individual donors), ensuring a steady and growing stream of funding and contributing to the sustainability of Micro Rainbow.

This role requires a candidate with a strong background in building relationships and identifying and developing new prospects. They will need experience in the development of strategic and creative giving programmes and to be excited at the prospect of pursuing new opportunities for the organisation by engaging with individual and major donors, and high net worth individuals.

You will be educated to MSc level in Public Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology or closely related field and have experience working in a research/public health setting and developing scientific/policy reports, summaries and presentations. You will have proven scientific project management skills with experience in monitoring progress, performance reporting and delivering projects on time and budget. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, and with stakeholders at all levels.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across London, running snowsports youth programmes from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.

The Role

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £1 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for possible further expansion in 2024 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties such as ensuring that we have a database that is organised, up to date and fit for purpose.

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.

The Fundraising Manager will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships specifically with churches and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Churches, Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief, and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we serve. 

Main duties and responsibilities

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for Pecan.

2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local churches and individuals.

3. Coordinate all Appeals including the Pecan and Foodbank Christmas fundraising campaigns and Big Give Campaigns across all income and media streams.

4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities across Pecan such as Payroll Giving, Legacies, in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to Pecan’s supporters.

2. To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

3. Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all supporters and managing complaints and issues, ensuring they are reported centrally within agreed procedures, that they are resolved or escalated as necessary and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes.

4. Develop and implement stewardship programmes including reactivation of lapsed donors.

Database Management

1. Assist with setting up our CRM database with responsibility of developing and maintaining the database, ensuring efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.

2. Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.

3. Train other staff members to be able to use the database sufficiently.

4. Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.

5. Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.

Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.

2. Lead all individual giving streams such as direct mail appeals, online donations, regular campaigns and appeals to maximise income generation.

3. Work with the Marketing Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

4. Develop campaigns and messaging that engages new segments and audiences.

Church Giving

1. Inspire churches to journey with us as we transform lives in Peckham.

2. Pioneer and develop a broad range of relationships with churches, organisations, and denominations across Southwark.

3. Work strategically with denominations to inspire partnership and engagement with Pecan across their networks and congregations.

4. Build a team of speakers who will host and speak at meetings with churches and Christian networks in Southwark.

5. Be willing to represent Pecan at external events, including Christian exhibitions and festivals, church talks etc…

6. Increase income from churches.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and Partnerships Manager to project manage fundraising appeals and campaigns including Pecan at 35yrs; Christmas Campaigns etc.

2. Overall responsibility for Big Give Campaigns.

3. Oversight of Enthuse campaign pages.

4. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the Partnerships Manager, to explain the work of Pecan to potential company supporters.

5. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside Partnerships Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses; individuals and churches.

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropiate.

2. Management of a part time Partnerships Manager with responsibility.

3. Work closely with Head of Services and Head of Food Services to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

· Attend Pecan team meetings as and when required, including meetings where there may be a time of prayer and reflection.

· Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.

· Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Services.

· Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of the Pecan team.

We3can is a collaboration between three cancer charities - Brain Tumour Research, Leukaemia UK and Sarcoma UK. We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."

The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research. 

The brand tone is ambitious, collaborative, rigorous, trustworthy, optimistic and resolute in pursuing a future without childhood cancer.

We3can is a joint initiative created by merging the efforts of three leading cancer in children's  charities to maximize impact in fighting the most common types of childhood cancer through research funding and awareness.

Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
• Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
• Monitor website and social media activity.
• Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.
• Identify, add and manage a pipeline of prospective funders.
• Develop and implement a strategic income generation plan to and achieve annual revenue targets.
• Use the data base to manage reporting, indicator evaluation and to manager GDPR, Gift Aid (where appropriate) etc.
• Regularly report against the agreed KPI’s in the strategic income generation plan.
• Provide fortnightly written updates on activity.
• Identify and pursue prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
• Develop tailored partnership proposals and pitches that articulate the mutual benefits to potential partners.
• Manage cultivation cycle - qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities.
• Steward and renew existing partner relationships through exceptional account management.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop co-branded campaigns, marketing assets and employee engagement initiatives.
• Track and report on fundraising activities including pipeline, projections and results.
• Develop fundraising marketing materials and content for website, social media, etc.

The person:

A highly motivated, organised, goal focused, self-starter with;

• 5+ years of corporate fundraising, sales and/or account management experience
• Proven track record of securing six-figure corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
• Experience of bid writing and supporter stewardship
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop compelling fundraising proposals and presentations.
• Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
• Entrepreneurial drive and commitment to achieving targets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Sound understanding of fundraising compliance and best practices.

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support, with a focus on trusts and foundations and a willingness to explore other sources such as individuals, corporations, community and other donors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a highly effective frontline charity supporting migrant women and pre-school children living in temporary or insecure accommodation across London.

Fundraising Manager – Job Description

Contract: 3 days a week

Location: Hybrid/home-based with at least half a day a week on site in Newham.

Reports to: Finance and Operations Mananger

Salary: £30-32k pro rata’d to 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve annual income targets in alignment with organisational goals.

· Work with the COO to develop long-term income forecasts to support organisational
plans.

· Identify new fundraising opportunities across all donor groups and develop innovative approaches to diversify income streams.

· Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to trusts, foundations, and other grant-making entities.

· Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors to fulfil grant requirements and maintain compliance.

· Support the organisation in the use accurate and relevant monitoring and evaluation data and individual stories, for the purposes of reporting and building a compelling case for support.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors at all levels (trusts and foundations, corporate partners, community organisations, etc), ensuring a positive donor experience and long-term support.

· Identify and secure new relationships with partners including corporate entities and community groups, to support our mission and objectives.

· Collaborate with colleagues to identify funding needs and develop compelling grant proposals and reports.

· Ensure transparency and accountability in financial management and ensure that spending is in line with grant conditions.

Person Specification

· Experience of trust and foundations fundraising in a charity is essential. Additional experience of other forms of fundraising is a bonus.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising proposals and reports.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and partners.

· Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies and plans.

· Experience using Salesforce is a bonus.

· Commitment to The Magpie Project’s mission and values, with a passion for fundraising as a tool for creating social impact.
