About the role and you

We are recruiting for a Policy Officer within the Advocacy and Communications Team. You will report to the Director of Advocacy and Communications and work closely with all others in the team.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen LFF’s policy and advocacy efforts. You will be crucial in helping to develop strategic engagement, influence change and strengthen LFF’s impact on public policy, and in doing so, make a significant contribution to the prevention of child sexual abuse.

Bringing together your knowledge and experience engaging with various stakeholders, you will effect change by identifying opportunities to influence decision-making, analyse data to develop policy positions for the organisation, contribute to consultation submissions and provide advice on various policy matters.

Advocacy is one of three guiding principles in our 2025-2030 organisational strategy. It underpins all of our work – we advocate for a greater focus on preventing abuse before it happens, not just within the halls of parliament but through all aspects of our work from frontline practice to influencing national policy.

This role sits within the wider Advocacy and Communications Team which supports the promotion of all areas of our work across various channels: websites, social media, press and PR, marketing and digital advertising. Working with the wider team, we are striving to better showcase our advocacy work both internally and externally.

The Communications Coordinator will support colleagues across the team to deliver engaging, accessible and effective communications that help prevent child sexual abuse. This is a rewarding role in a fast-paced, collaborative team, which will bring a greater awareness of our work and help to deliver real impact in the prevention of offline and online child sexual abuse across the UK.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting our digital channels, campaigns and content creation - from social media and newsletters to website updates and printed materials. Here are some of the skills we’re looking for and we’re happy to support the right candidate to grow and learn on the job:

• Confident using social media to reach different audiences and be able to design multimedia content that’s engaging and on-brand.
• A strong writer and editor, able to tailor content for different platforms and audiences - from short social posts to longer-form blogs and newsletters.
• Familiar with website content management systems (like WordPress) and ideally have some experience with paid digital campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, Meta).
• Organised and proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks and support colleagues across different projects and teams.
• Comfortable using data and analytics to evaluate and improve communications.
• A team player with a positive attitude, keen to learn and contribute to our organisation’s mission.

You’ll be energetic, curious, and solutions-focused, with a good eye for detail and a passion for delivering impactful, creative communications across our platforms and channels. You’ll be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and able to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.

The Role

As Deputy Shop Manager at our Ilkley Shop you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, including managing a team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond.

Specifically, you will:

· Play an active part in running our shop in Ilkley, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

· Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.

· Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.

· Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a positive retail environment.

· Ensure there are sufficient volunteers to support the effective operation of the shop during all opening hours.

· Support the Shop Manager to ensure the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and attractive window displays.

· Support the Shop Manager to ensure that all charity policies, shop standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to all volunteers and are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.

· Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).

· Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

· Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· To ideally be educated to GCSE level or equivalent but not essential.  

· Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

· To be highly organised with good time management skills.

· To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

· To be able to use own initiative.

· To be resilient and adaptable to change.

· To have good planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieve targeted income is desirable.

· A willingness and ability to occasionally travel across the Yorkshire region as needed for training sessions and team meetings.

· A willingness and ability to safely lone work.

· A willingness to complete our pre-employment checks (to be undertaken once the role is offered and accepted) which include:

Outline of the role

The IT Manager at IAPB will be responsible for overseeing our IT systems, infrastructure and digital services, ensure they are reliable, secure and aligned with IAPB needs. This role will provide leadership on IT strategy, manage day to day operations, be the key liaison with our outsourced IT provider and support staff to use technology effectively to deliver our mission. We have staff located both in the UK and globally, so working effectively with and understanding the needs of our diverse workforce is key.

Scope and accountability

Reporting to Head of Finance, the post holders role will include:

1. IT strategy and planning

• Conduct a full review of all IT systems and processes
• Develop and deliver the IT strategy in line with organisational goals
• Advise SMT on technology opportunities, risks and best practice
• Ensure systems are scalable, cost-effective and future-ready

2. Systems and infrastructure

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, cyber security and other relevant regulations
• Work with external IT providers to ensure cloud services, networks, servers and business applications are managed and maintained
• Manage data security and backups
• Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Manage software licensing
• Work with the team leading IAPB’s Website

3. User support and training

• Promote effective use of collaboration and productivity tools across the organisation
• Develop user guides, training and resources to build digital confidence across the organisation
• Work with external IT provider to ensure technical support is provided in a timely manner (in accordance with SLAs)
• Work with external IT provider to set up IT access and provide on-boarding support for new staff in the UK and overseas

4. Project and change management

• Lead IT related projects such as systems upgrades, SharePoint migrations or new software implementation
•  Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards
• Support digital transformation initiatives that improve service delivery and efficiency

5. Management and leadership

• Manage the relationship with external IT provider
• Manage the IT budget
• Manage the cost-effective procurement and decommissioning of IT equipment for all staff globally
• Manage the IT asset register
• Contribute to wider organisational planning

General 

•  The role requires working and communicating at both strategic and operational level – so getting involved in detail as and when required. The post holder will therefore need to comfortable and skilled in working in both ways.
• The post holder will be an enabler for other members of IAPB, supporting, upskilling, and coaching them across the breadth of IT.

About This Job

As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. Stewarding fundraisers, helping to develop new and existing fundraising campaigns, building relationships internally within the cadet organisations and externally with Trusts and Foundations, corporates and major givers. You will provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database. Working closely with the rest of the Development team and in particular the Marketing department to ensure that both charities can provide increasing financial support to cadets and adult volunteers across the UK.

Travel Requirements:

This role will require circa 6 weeks of UK travel per year to deliver our residential courses. Each course is up to one week in duration.

The role holder may be asked to travel internationally to deliver training programmes in support of our global team of affiliates and volunteers, unlikely to exceed 2 weeks in duration.

This role may also be infrequently required to deploy as part of a ShelterBox project delivery team, working alongside our programme partners. These deployments are unlikely to exceed 2 weeks in duration.

The role of Training Manager is a vital part of the Learning and Development team, leading on our core calendar of purpose-led, residential training programmes as well as managing the compliance and mandatory training needs of our people.

The individual should enjoy delivering training, developing annual plans to address the compliance needs of an organisation, managing complex logistics involved with residential training, and working alongside staff and volunteers.

Main role and responsibilities

As Training Manager, you will be responsible for the development, planning and delivery of ShelterBox's core training calendar. This encompasses our range of mandatory and compliance training courses, alongside our residential training programmes and any other programmes as decided in collaboration with the Head of Learning and Development. Through careful planning, budgeting and engagement with key stakeholders across the organisation, you will ensure the core calendar and associated training content is relevant to the evolving business needs and is able to be accessed by all who require it. You will ensure the stewardship and maintenance of our training resources, and relationship management of key contacts at our training venues and volunteers to enable long-term, sustainable delivery of our programmes. In addition, you will support the delivery of other L&D solutions as required by other organisational requirements.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Annual planning of our core training calendar in-line with the business planning and budgeting cycle
• Development and management of the budget to enable the delivery of the core training calendar in-line with the budgeting cycle and promoting the best value-for money
• Planning and delivery of the Travel Security Training programme in-line with the requirements of the Deployable Personnel Minimum Training Standards Policy
• Planning and delivery of the We Are ShelterBox programme in-line with the induction pathway and business need
• Working with the People Assistant, ensure the management of all course and participant logistics including travel, accommodation and expenses.
• Scheduling and delivery of all compliance and mandatory training programmes including, but not limited to: GDPR; Cyber Security; Anti-Money Laundering; Anti Bribery; Payment Card Industry; First Aid; Trauma Risk Management; Fire Marshall, Etc.
• Maintenance and resupply of all training resources required to deliver our core calendar programmes, including inventory management of our 40ft shipping container.
• Business partnering with key risk owners such as Head of Legal and Risk, IT Service and Security Manager, Facilities Manager, and Head of Security to ensure our compliance needs are being met with the course content we have available, amending as necessary.
• Track and report on the compliance of our people against our mandatory and compliance programmes, feeding into the People and Risk Committee papers.
• Manage all risk assessment and mitigations processes for our training programmes, ensuring they are up to date, relevant to the risks faced on our programmes and our compliance with them.
• Support the management of the Qualsafe-registered "ShelterBox Training Centre" that enables the delivery of in-house first aid qualifications.
• Deliver Qualsafe-regulated, in-house first aid training as well as developing and delivering austere first aid training packages relevant to our work in high-risk environments.
• Develop and manage relationships with external service providers and volunteers to enable the sustainable delivery of our residential training programmes.
• Work with the learning management system to ensure all learning initiatives are tracked and monitored for completion.
• Support the delivery of capacity sharing initiatives with our programme partners in high-risk locations as required by the Programme Delivery team.
• Support the delivery of corporate and donor engagement events as required by the Philanthropy and Partnerships team

Other responsibilities

• Any other duties as required which are deemed appropriate to the level and grade of the post.

You will play a central role in ensuring that the voices of local people, especially those most affected by health inequalities, are heard and acted upon.

As the Health Community Engagement Manager, you will lead the delivery of a wide-ranging engagement programme that connects health priorities with community insight and experience.

You will oversee ICB Community Panels, coordinate a small-grants scheme to fund VCFSE-led engagement, and support local organisations to evaluate and share their learning. You will work closely with BVSC Research, the NHS Communications and Engagement teams, and a wide range of local authority and community partners to ensure that engagement activity is coherent, inclusive and impactful.

This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will design and manage processes that make it easier for smaller, community-led and faith-based organisations to get involved in shaping health services. You will ensure that the themes emerging from community discussions are reported clearly and used to inform system strategy and policy. You will also play an active role in strengthening networks such as the Birch Network and the CHERP platform, supporting the sharing of good practice in engagement, research and policy development.

To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience of community engagement within health or related fields, together with a deep understanding of the VCFSE sector in Birmingham and Solihull. You will be an excellent communicator, capable of working confidently with senior leaders as well as with grassroots community groups.

You will be comfortable leading projects, managing budgets and supporting others, while remaining flexible and solution-focused in a fast-moving environment. Above all, you will be motivated by a commitment to equity, inclusion and meaningful community engagement and involvement.
