Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Grimsby and District group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. We are seeking to appoint a new Trustee and Trustee Honorary Treasurer to join our governing Council.

Trustee: 2 days per month

About you - experience, skills and qualities needed

Governance

Understanding of the Trust, our values and culture, and the legislation that we operate within. Ideally bringing experience of working in an executive role within a not-for profit / public sector organisation.

Trustees are our most senior volunteers and play an important role in leading the organisation and helping us achieve our ambitions for nature in Nottinghamshire. We greatly value the time, knowledge and experience that our Trustees bring.

Strategic

Able to shape our vision and future, and willingness to take responsibility for our long- term success or failure.

Leadership

Committed to the Trust, our vision and goals. Clear on the role of Trustee and able to commit sufficient time to the organisation. A natural team player, good listener and with the ability to affect change.

Decision making

Helping to ensure key governance decisions to be made and ensuring that Trustees make sound decisions based on clear information and evidence. Able to look at situations objectively and analytically, considering multiple perspectives. Able to manage potential conflicts of interest to maintain probity and the Trust’s reputation.

Collaboration

Forging strong relationships with the CEO, Trustees and other internal and external stakeholders. Able to connect with and influence others, understanding different interests and perspectives and with the confidence to build support for and further the work of the Trust.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.  The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake. 

As a hospital volunteer, you might:

• hold drop-in sessions
• attend events and ward meetings at local facilities
• share information
• assist people to request advocacy support by completing a form online or calling our contact centre

All volunteering will take place Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK. Please note that there is no opportunity to volunteer at weekends or in the evening.

Help Build Confidence, Discipline, and Positive Futures through Boxing in Brighton and Hove

Brighton and Hove ABC is a registered charity and community boxing club that provides a welcoming and inclusive space for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Through boxing, we support physical and mental wellbeing, build confidence, and offer positive pathways. This includes support for young people and those facing disadvantage.

We’re looking for a reliable and organised Volunteer Administrator to help keep the club running smoothly behind the scenes.

Your Role:

• Manage emails and club enquiries

• Update and maintain member records and attendance logs

• Help prepare training schedules and internal documents

• Support communication between coaches, parents, and the public

• Assist with general admin tasks and light operational support

Shannon Trust fulfils an unmet need around adult learning, supporting people who’ve fallen through the cracks in formal education.

We know a lot of people have had negative learning experiences in the past, so our programme is designed to be different, with no exams and no classrooms. Our unique, evidence-based Turning Pages reading manuals and Count Me In numeracy manuals are used by thousands of learners in prisons and the community to improve reading and numeracy skills. 

Prison volunteers live near to their local prison so that they can visit about once a month during the working week to nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by offering advice, guidance, training and support to prison staff and prisoner mentors who help other prisoners to improve their skills 1 to 1.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to give a regular, reliable commitment for ideally two years and able to deliver engaging training to groups of people in prisons. Volunteers do not need to be teachers or qualified traininers, full training will be given. Due to the nature of the role, prison security vetting will be required.

We provide training for the role via e-learning and 4 training sessions which are a mix of live, online and group training.
