Job description

Kingston Association for the Blind's Mission is 'to empower people living with sight loss and to lead independent and fulfilling lives in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

The post of Charity Manager is an important link between the Charity and its' members, the Royal Borough of Kingston Adult Services and Kingston Hospital Royal Eye Unit.  The post holder will have a solid track record of managing small charities, whilst possessing considerable energy, enthusiasm and commitment to attract new sight loss members to use the charity's services, and to inspire funders to choose Kingston Association for the Blind as their preferred charity to support.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the charity achieves its Mission and Vision, whilst being financially secure.  They will work closely with and be supported by the Board to ensure the necessary plans are in place.

The role is very 'hands on', and when other staff members are absent the Manager will need to ensure the charity's activities continue through by covering the tasks or delegating them to another staff member of volunteer, where appropriate. 

Although the team is small, KAB have big ambitions to improve the lives of people living with sight loss in the Royal Borough of Kingston, and is passionate about the members they support.  The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, be a motivated self-confident, self-starter, who is able to work with minimal supervision.
