We are looking for a team player with experience of finance and fundraising best practice, preferably within the charity sector, to join our Board of Trustees As we continue to expand our services, our new Treasurer will help us to develop our procedures and strategies to ensure we maintain good governance. Applicants must also be prepared to take on the wider responsibilities of becoming a charity Trustee.
This is a hands on role which requires close working with our CEO, Finance Manager, Chair of Trustees and Accountants. You will help us to review and implement new financial processes and budgeting procedures, develop new investment and fundraising policies and ensure that we operate in line with best practice. As a Trustee you will also contribute to the organisations wider mission and strategy and oversee the running of the Charity.

EnhanceAble is a medium-sized charity in the social care sector. We have a turn over of circa. £2 million per annum. We have a Board of Trustees, and a Senior Management Team (SMT) consisting of our Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive, Head of Finance and HR Manager.
As well as fulfilling the duties of a Trustee, the Treasurer maintains an overview of EnhanceAble’s financial affairs. The Treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and, along with the Head of Finance, reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
Treasurer role

Working with the Head of Finance on the presentation of budgets, internal management accounts and annual financial statements to the Board of Trustees.

Ensuring, at a board level, that proper accounting records are kept, and that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.

Monitoring and advising on the financial viability of the charity.

Overseeing financial controls and adherence to systems, regularly liaising with the Chief Executive and Head of Finance.

Being knowledgeable of the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan, including overseeing the charity’s financial risk-management process

Ensuring investments and assets are maximised.

Working with the Head of Finance to oversee the development and implementation of systems for appraising, mitigating and reporting corporate risk.

Ensuring that the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by relevant statutory bodies, for example, the Charity Commission and/or the Registrar of Companies.

Keeping the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities and liaising with the Chief Executive to develop the financial understanding of the Board of Trustees.

A finance professional. A knowledge of charity finance is an advantage. Otherwise an enthusiasm to learn, drawing from sound commercial experience and an understanding of SMEs.

Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term of office, renewal for 3 further terms to a maximum of 12 years.

This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Time Commitment (Estimated at 10 hours per month)

Attending 4 Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held in person at our head office KT1 2TW

Monthly scheduled meeting with the Head of Finance with flexibility to respond swiftly to the occasional ad hoc issue. Other members of the senior management team will join some of these meetings.

Attending a number of training and strategy sessions plus some events.
Galop - Treasurer

Our partner is a women’s organisation, delivering systems change and trauma and gender-informed community-based support for women and girls affected by domestic abuse, including those in contact with the criminal justice system.
The Treasurer will oversee the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice and legal requirements, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. ABOUT THE TREASURER ROLE
We're looking for a volunteer treasurer to join our valued board of trustees and play a pivotal role in ensuring our organisation is well governed and complies with all financial legislation and good practice relating to charities and charitable income.
Our board meets 6 times per annum combining in-person with remote meetings to benefit all members. In addition, our finance & risk sub-committee meets ahead of main board meetings, approximately 2 weeks in advance, to fully review our financial position and any risks posed to the organisation, be they financial or otherwise.

Camberwell After School Project is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Treasurer to support this award winning children's charity which has provided a nurturing and positive childcare experience to many children for almost 40 years.
The Tresurer will oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.

The Board of Trustees

As a membership charity, we put victims at the heart of our work, equipping them to support themselves and others, campaign for change and shape RoadPeace’s work.
Following its 30th anniversary, Roadpeace is looking towards the next chapter and after reviewing how to develop and strengthen the charity, is in the process of creating a new strategy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kempton Great Engines Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to showcase Kempton’s vital role in supplying much of London’s water.
Kempton Great Engines Trust is the governing body for Kempton Steam Museum, the home of the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine. The Trust supports day-to-day operations and drives the ongoing development of the museum as a successful and sustainable visitor attraction.
We have plans to expand the museum’s activities with new facilities for visitors and volunteers and the new Treasurer will play a vital role in shaping the approach to financial management in support of these new developments. You will chair the Finance Committee and attend Trustee Meetings, which are normally held every other month on a Tuesday evening at the museum in South West London.
The Treasurer oversees the financial operations of the organisation, working closely with the Bookkeeper. You will also ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met in conjunction with the Company Secretary and Chair.
We are looking for someone who has the experience to advise the other trustees on financial matters, take a strategic approach to financial forward planning, produce an annual budget and management accounts and play an active part in the decision making of the board of trustees. A qualification in accountancy or equivalent senior level experience in financial management is required and experience of charities and governance would be advantageous.
