Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced treasurer who has a comprehensive understanding of charity finances, requirements and regulations and will actively support other board members to fulfil their collective responsibilities around finance.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Gut UK’s ambitious growth plans are achievable, and sustainable for the long term. As a charity we need to do more, fund more, and support more people and we need a treasurer who shares our passion in achieving this.

Governance

Strategy and Governance

Founded in 1997, the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants provides a place for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum to rebuild their life with support and community. From classes to casework to financial assistance, the Centre has a wide offering available for our community of over 200 people. Trustee needed for Faith in Action Homelessness Project. We are seeking a Trustee to join our committed Board working to end homelessness in Merton.
About Us: FiA runs a twice weekly drop in for homeless and vulnerably housed people and a Winter Night Shelter which works in collaboration with faith groups including a Mosque, a Synagogue, a Hindu Temple and Christian churches to provide overnight accommodation and support to find long term housing solutions.

About the Degrees Initiative
The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The opportunity:
Harry’s HAT is entering an important phase of development and the Board of Trustees is seeking a motivated individual to join as Vice Chair of Trustees. Harry’s HAT is a UK-based charity focussing on paediatric hydrocephalus. Our mission is to make life better for children and their families who are affected by hydrocephalus. We work towards this aim through:

We are seeking a proactive, strategic, and mission-aligned Funding Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role will lead on identifying, applying for, and managing multiple streams of funding to support the delivery and expansion of our work. As a small charity with big impact, funding is vital to everything we do — from running support services to delivering education and campaigning for change. The Funding Manager will be at the heart of ensuring our sustainability and growth by securing the resources we need. You will be line managed by the Chair of Trustees, and work closely with the Treasurer and other trustees as needed to complete applications, manage current funding applications and report on grant outcomes.
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:

Identify and research suitable funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and other grant-makers

Lead and coordinate the writing and submission of compelling funding bids, applications, and proposals.

Manage and track existing grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.

Work with trustees (e.g. Treasurer and Chair) to gather financial and impact data for applications and reports.

Maintain a funding pipeline and reporting calendar, ensuring visibility of all application stages and deadlines.

Build and maintain relationships with funders, providing updates on Hidayah’s work and impact.

Monitor trends in the funding landscape and keep the charity informed of relevant changes and opportunities.

Advise and support the Board in developing a long-term funding strategy.

To maintain clear records on the organisation’s shared systems (Google Drive).

Meet regularly e.g. monthly or bi-monthly with your line manager to discuss funding applications and progress
-
To check and respond to funding application emails promptly and within deadlines set for funding applications
What do we expect from the Funding Manager?
Please note that you must agree with and fit the criteria below to be eligible to volunteer in this role:
Essential:

Demonstrable experience of successful fundraising from trusts, foundations, or statutory funders.

Excellent bid writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate impact clearly.

Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Financially literate, comfortable working with budgets and data.
-
Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with others.

A commitment to the values and mission of Hidayah LGBTQI+.
-
Knowledge of CRM or funding management tools.
Desirable:
-
Experience working with grassroots or LGBTQI+ charities.

Understanding of issues affecting LGBTQI+ Muslims or minoritised communities.
How much commitment is required?
This is a voluntary role with flexible hours, and can be carried out around your existing commitments. We are results-focused, so while you have autonomy over when you volunteer, we ask that funding bids and key deadlines are met in a timely and reliable manner.

Harry’s HAT is a UK-based charity focusing on paediatric hydrocephalus.
Our mission is to make life better for children and their families who are affected by hydrocephalus. We work towards this through:
1. Awareness: delivering workshops and training to help people understand paediatric hydrocephalus.
2. Research: supporting research and funding training for professionals in health, social care and related fields.
3. Signposting and support: helping families find organisations that can offer advice, guidance and peer support.
4. Campaigning for early diagnosis of the condition.
We are now recruiting a Governance Trustee to strengthen our Board and help ensure our governance framework remains robust as the charity grows.
The Governance Trustee will play a key role in supporting good oversight, strong policy development and effective decision-making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities of the role:
• Supporting the Board in maintaining strong and effective governance.
• Helping review and develop the charity’s policy framework, including safeguarding, governance, finance and operational policies.
• Ensuring policies are reviewed regularly, compliant with current legislation and embedded in day-to-day practice.
• Working closely with fellow Trustees and the CEO to ensure decisions reflect our mission, vision and values.
• Contributing to the work of the Fundraising and Risk Group, ensuring governance considerations inform the group’s discussions.
Attending and actively participating in:
• Six Board meetings per year (usually held on the third Sunday of every other month from 18:00–19:30 via Teams).
• Quarterly Fundraising and Risk Group meetings (1.5 hours, evening).
• Two 1-2-1 meetings per year with the Chair of Trustees.
• The charity’s AGM and any additional meetings or events as needed • Providing occasional input on matters raised by the CEO, Trustees, staff and volunteers.
• Acting as an ambassador for Harry’s HAT and representing the charity with professionalism and warmth.
