CleanupUK is a small charity with big aspirations. We use the activity of litter-picking to support people living in disadvantaged areas to form litter-picking groups – not only to keep their neighbourhood clean but also to bring the community together.
Now in its 18th year, CleanupUK is embarking on a growth phase. As a result, we would like to attract people to CleanupUK’s board as trustees who have varied and diverse backgrounds and experience. You will likely feel passionate about the issue of litter and also about its impact on communities.
We are currently looking to recruit a trustee with senior fundraising experience who is prepared to devote their time and energy to helping CleanupUK grow into the next stage.We require the succesful individual to have a good understanding of a broad range of fundraising channels, including trusts and foundations, statutory and Lottery, corporate partnerships and other channels that a growing charity might wish to make use of.

The Trans Learning Partnership (TLP) is in the process of evolving into a new, independent charity: the Trans Research Partnership (TRP). This transition will be completed by the end of 2025.

About the role
We have made a number of key appointments to the Board and senior leadership team in the last 12-18 months, including a new Chair and Chief Executive. With some of our longest serving Trustees approaching the end of their terms, we are looking to make further appointments to our Board and committees to bring fresh, external perspective, challenge and leadership.
We are seeking two outstanding individuals to join our Board as Trustees, each bringing distinct expertise to support our continued growth and excellence.
- Chair of Audit & Risk Committee:
This pivotal role will take over from our departing Chair of the committee when her second term concludes in April 2025. We need someone with substantial financial expertise and a deep understanding of governance and risk management who can provide both effective oversight and practical support. The ideal candidate will have recent experience with audit committees and external audits, bringing the technical knowledge and confidence to engage with auditors when necessary.
While we’re open to various professional backgrounds, some understanding of regulation and the charity context would be particularly valuable.
Above all, we need someone who understands what good governance, risk management and Board assurance looks like and can help us maintain the highest standards in a regulated environment.
- Finance, Investment & Resources Committee Member:
Our second Trustee will join a committee that covers not just finance, but the full spectrum of our resources, including estates, people, and digital infrastructure. This is very much about financial management and commercial acumen rather than purely technical accounting.
We’re looking for someone who has run operations and can contribute to the strategic changes we’re implementing. Whether you’re a CEO, COO, or senior leader with a financial background, we want someone who brings that broader perspective of leading and managing an organisation and can help support executive leaders.
Who we are looking for
Both roles require Trustees who align with our mission and are genuinely excited by our work with children with brain injury and neurodisability. You’ll be joining a Board that’s been significantly refreshed over the past two years. We’re particularly committed to increasing diversity on our Board and would be especially pleased to hear from candidates with lived experience of brain injury, neurodisability, disability or neurodiversity, those from diverse ethnic backgrounds, lower socio-economic backgrounds, or who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ communities.
You’ll need to be an effective communicator who can build relationships across our organisation, absorb complex information, and think laterally to find pragmatic solutions. Most importantly, you must be able to commit the time needed to help drive the charity forward through this period of change, demonstrating high ethical standards and a clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Time Commitment
We estimate both roles require approximately the equivalent of two days per month.
This includes preparation for and attendance at board meetings, which typically meet 6 times a year, including our annual strategy away day, and committee meetings (committees typically meet 4-6 times annually). Outside of the formal meeting schedule, it is likely that additional time for relationship building and ad hoc discussions with the executive team and fellow board members.
Board meetings take place in person at our Tadworth site, in Surrey, though we maintain flexibility for online participation where appropriate. Committee meetings are generally held online.

What will you be doing?
Our trustees play an important role in making sure that the charity is run in the interests of the children, young people and families we support. They strategically oversee the management and administration of the organisation.

Leadership and governance of a grant-making trust which supports communities in Luton and also causes that benefit children and young people in the rest of the UK
What will you be doing?

The Steel Charitable Trust really wants to hear from people who are enthusiastic, have a philanthropic mindset and a willingness to involve themselves in aspects of charitable work that they may or may not currently know much about.
The Steel Charitable Trust is looking for a new Trustee to help provide the governance and leadership needed as we roll out our new five-year strategy. Suitable candidates are likely to have skills in all or some of the following, gained through professional or voluntary experience:

- general/operations management
The role does not offer remuneration, but all necessary expenses are reimbursed.
The Trust has two grant-making strands (each of them accounting for about 50% of its annual grant giving):

The Stuart Hall Foundation is inspired by the life’s work of Professor Stuart Hall in the interlocking worlds of activism, academia and the arts. Hall’s work was characterised by its breadth and its interdisciplinary nature, spanning across cultural studies, media theory, political analysis, and the study of race and identity.
The Foundation was formally launched in 2015 by Hall’s family, friends and colleagues in order to commemorate his legacy by attending to the urgent political, social and cultural questions of our time.
Our mission
The Foundation focuses on achieving a more progressive and just society through public education, artistic and intellectual initiatives. Our mission is to popularise critical thought by reshaping public discourse and by supporting the development of a new generation of artists, academics and activists who are dedicated to challenging issues of inequality.
We work on our mission through three strands of activity:
- With institutional partners we offer scholarships, fellowships, artist residencies and commissions.
- We create free-to-access digital learning resources including recorded lectures and conversations, podcasts, written essays and artistic commissions.

Our organisation is now at a moment of transition, and we are looking to recruit a new Chair of Trustees. We have been successful in recent grant funding applications, and as a result the Foundation has been able to expand its activities and is financially secure for the next two years. The new Chair of Trustees will continue to build and lead the Foundation with a distinct identity as a public education charity working in service of social justice.
Chair of Trustees
We are looking to appoint a new Chair who has a demonstrable commitment to the Foundation with the ability to lead and manage a unique and growing national charity.
The Chair has responsibility for providing oversight, shaping strategy and working collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees to further develop the organisation’s vision for the next three to five years. The Chair will also support the Vice Chair in overseeing financial management and external relations. The role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration.

We are seeking to recruit two new trustees to join our passionate and dedicated board.
We are looking for individuals who share our vision of a world where all children and young people with additional needs and disabilities are fully included in their communities. Whether you're an experienced trustee or looking to take your first step into governance, your contribution could be life-changing for the children we support and for their families.
About the role
As a member of our board of trustees, you will be jointly responsible for the legal, effective, and safe running of me2 club. Working closely with fellow trustees and the senior leadership team, you will help shape the charity’s strategic direction and ensure we continue to deliver high-quality support to our beneficiaries.
As one of our ‘guardians of purpose’, you will play a vital role in making sure all decisions reflect the best interests of the children, young people, and families we serve.
We are also looking to appoint a charity secretary, either as one of the new trustees or as a separate role. This position plays a key part in supporting the governance and smooth running of our board.
Who we’re looking for
We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are particularly keen to hear from parent/carers with lived experience of caring for a child with additional needs. Your insight is invaluable in helping us ensure our services truly meet the needs of our community.
We are also looking for candidates who may have experience in human resources, business development, impact and evaluation or fundraising.
You do not need previous board experience just a commitment to our mission, a willingness to learn, and a desire to make a difference.

Each year we award grants to 500+ local organisations, supported by 200+ donors and fundholders. Why join our Board? Use your skills to shape funding that changes lives.
