Our partner is a fast-growing charity that prepares young children in rural Ghana and Uganda for school, empowering marginalised mothers to run educational play schemes to improve children’s development and reduce malnutrition.
They are seeking a qualified accountant to join them as Treasurer and oversee all financial aspects of the charity. You will monitor cash flow, income, expenses, and strategic resource management, ensuring sound governance and compliance with charity regulations.
The Treasurer will chair the Finance and Audit Committee, oversee risk management, and guide the preparation of year-end accounts. You will also advise Trustees and help communicate financial information clearly to the Board.

These roles are voluntary; however, the Charity does require a level of commitment for the role. Our Trustees and Governors meet up to 4 evenings per year for full Board / Governor meetings. There are also termly monitoring visits for Governors. Full induction and ongoing training will be provided; a mentor from the existing board will be assigned so that you are supported fully.

Home visitors

Purpose of the Role
To bring senior-level fundraising expertise to the Board of Trustees, advising and supporting Momentum’s income generation strategies and providing constructive challenge and oversight of the charity’s fundraising activities.
Key Responsibilities
§ Provide expert advice, guidance and strategic input to the Board and senior leadership on all aspects of fundraising.

§ Monitor fundraising performance against targets and ensure fundraising activities remain compliant with relevant regulations (Fundraising Regulator, Charity Commission, GDPR, etc).
§ Act as a mentor and sounding board to the Director of Fundraising & Engagement and CEO.
§ Contribute ideas and insights to help the charity identify new opportunities for sustainable income growth.
§ Where appropriate, assist with the stewardship of key supporters or donors.
§ Fulfil all general trustee duties, including attending Board meetings, contributing to governance and strategic decision-making, and upholding the charity’s values and safeguarding responsibilities.

The Marketing team at The Brain Tumour Charity want to capture more high quality photos of our fundraisers and supporters. Not only do our photos capture the brain tumour community and their amazing efforts to help find cures but they also help create more awareness and engagement of our cause.
How can you help?
As a Volunteer Photographer, you will be present at big fundraising events or carrying out photoshoots with our supporters. This role requires that you are quick to capture those blink-and-you-miss-it moments! Other requirements include:
- Potentially walking a large amount of steps at some events if you are able (The Twilight Walk in London, for example)
- Being prepared for different weather conditions
- Taking portraits and group shots of fundraisers when asked by them
- Sending photos (unedited or edited) via wetransfer or another sharing platform soon after the event has ended
What impact will you have?
Your photos will capture the atmosphere and excitement of big events as well as the emotions that come with fundraisers. Capturing and displaying our community is a key concern for The Charity and your photos make an impact in reaching our goals. Your photos could also be featured on our website, social media and external news outlets with full credit given.
We’re looking for...
Individuals with technical experience in photography, whether that is buddying hobbyists or professionals looking to volunteer their time. You will also need:
- To have your own photography equipment
- An ability to direct people to get the right shot
- An ability to work autonomously

Time commitment

Practical considerations
You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and any specific training for the role, as well as ongoing direction from one of the team, who will be your key contact. Volunteers will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity.

Background
Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea’s Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support
Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading
brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child
brain tumour patients, together with their families.
We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new
approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.
At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

The Treasurer will provide oversight of financial strategy, risk and compliance, review management accounts and budgets, and support the preparation of annual accounts in collaboration with the staff team and bookkeeper.
The post-holder will bring charity governance experience, commercial awareness, and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial trustees. A commitment to the organisation’s pro-abortion, feminist and anti-oppressive values is essential.
The Board meets remotely every six weeks, with an additional monthly Governance Working Group meeting. Occasional in-person gatherings may take place every couple of years. The time commitment is approximately 5 hours per month.

Community researchers wanted to help East London Waterworks Park ensure our community-owned park is inclusive and welcoming for all.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for community researchers specialised to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on on a listening project to ensure often underrepresented voices in conservation and environmental projects are heard and centred.
There is opportunity to lead on projects and facilitate the direction of the working circle.
The Inclusivity Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
While your experienced research skills are crucial, we also value your ability to engage with the community and build partnerships. Experience in conducting community-based research or working with community organisations is important. A strong understanding of community dynamics and the ability to collaborate effectively will be invaluable in ensuring your research findings are relevant and impactful. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
