We’re recruiting a fundraiser and project development manager to build on our creative, award-winning work addressing climate change and fuel poverty in practical, tangible ways. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our vision of a different energy future: one in which energy is generated renewably and used sustainably whilst leaving no one behind in the journey. We are looking for someone who understands the energy sector and the unique role that a community energy group can play in the energy transition. It is a role for someone who can imagine community solutions to energy sector issues and to translate these into fundable projects. 

Your role will be to work with our board of Directors and staff to come to an understanding of our mission and values and our strategic priorities and develop and resource projects that will enable us to meet those priorities filling gaps in provision. In a practical sense, you will work with stakeholders e.g. our staff, our members, local community groups, local authorities and clients to generate ideas for future projects. The direction of travel should be broadly determined by our recent strategic review.

You will work closely with our CEO and our Board of Directors to prioritise project ideas. You will develop partnerships, refine project ideas, identify sources of funding (Trusts and Grantmakers, Corporate Giving), draft bids and cost delivery on a full cost recovery basis, submit bids and if funding is awarded, mobilise the team to deliver the work. This role provides a big and exciting challenge for someone who knows the energy sector, understands the opportunity of community and grassroots solutions, who brings excellent written communication skills and is willing to learn how to fundraise.

Responsibilities:

Grant Fundraising Support:

• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission 
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.

Commissioned Work & Tendering Support:

• Assist in researching and identifying opportunities for commissioned work.
• Support the preparation of tender documents and proposals, including gathering necessary information, budgeting and formatting submissions.
• Provide administrative support for contract negotiation and agreement finalisation.

Community Share Capital

• Draft community share offer brochures and associated documentation
• Support the implementation of strategies to raise community share capital.
• Assist in planning and executing share offer campaigns, including preparing marketing materials and organising investor events.
• Help manage investor communications and data, ensuring compliance with cooperative principles and financial regulations.

Develop and Maintain Relationships

• Assist in building and nurturing relationships with funders, commissioners, and community investors through effective communication.
• Support the organisation’s representation at external events and networking opportunities.

Skills & Experience:

The ability to imagine and innovate and thereby build fundable project-based solutions working in partnership with stakeholders is more important that fundraising experience per se. This post would suit an Energy Policy graduate that has experience of either community energy or journalism (and therefore brings strong writing skills) or environmental projects

JUSTICE is looking to recruit an Interim Head of Governance and Operations to join our friendly, values-led team. This is a fixed term post for 12 months (maternity cover) and provides an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of governance and operational management.

This role plays a central role in the workings of the organisation including with our Policy Team, our Comms Team and our Development Team. This role also leads on the relationships with our accountants (who deliver our financial management and accounting functions) and other external contractors. 

JUSTICE is a law reform and human rights organisation, working to improve processes and policies to support everyone, particularly marginalised groups, be able to seek justice or a remedy when their rights have been breached or the law has been broken. We are looking for a dynamic and people-focussed Finance Coordinator to take our organisation to the next phase: this is a fantastic opportunity to have a real impact at a fast-growing organisation. The Finance Coordinator will prepare financial reports for the board and ensure compliance with financial regulations. They will work with our bookkeeper to ensure excellent day-to-day financial management. They will collaborate with our Project Leads, supporting them to set and manage budgets, report quarterly to the board, and ensure all project income and expenditure is recorded accurately in Xero. They will also use produce cashflow forecasts and scenarios using the Xero integration with Syft that Selce has implemented. They will also play a role in HR processes reviewing timesheets monthly and ensuring contracts are amended as staff roles evolve. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and sustainability of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

· Review financial data and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.

· Present financial reports with variance analysis and commentary for the board.

· Support with the preparation of annual accounts, working with Selce’s nominated accountants and the Board.

· Respond to any queries from Selce’s nominated accountants or from the Board.

· Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts for all areas of the business.

· Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to Selce

· Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes

· Review VAT and file VAT returns

· Manage interest payments to shareholders in accordance with our rules

Support Functions:

· Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

· Provide financial support and advice and training to Project Leads ensuring compliance with financial regulation and our financial policies.

· Support the CEO and the Board in various financial tasks and projects.

• Lead WaterAid’s federation-wide approach to employee engagement, ensuring the use of advanced technology and systems to drive, monitor and maintain WaterAid’s high levels of employee engagement.
• Oversee and lead WaterAid’s federation-wide approach to leadership communications, ensuring alignment with the Global Strategy and strategic priorities. Develop and define what leadership communication is required across the federation to foster an environment of transparency, collaboration and engagement.
• Trusted advisor and strategic internal communications business partner to key members of the Global Executive, specifically the WaterAid Chief Executives, Global Director of WaterAid international and the Executive Director, People (Global Lead for People).

We build relationships with young people by engaging with them in environments where they feel most comfortable whilst doing activities they love. Context for this role

This is a pivotal moment for FAST as the need for our work has expanded due to more young people falling into poverty and struggling in schools. Whilst capacity is a challenge with 60% cut in public youth programmes over the last decade (YMCA 2020). We are still growing strong and are able to work with 300 young people annually. However, our desire is to continue this work of establishing and growing a healthy youth organisation that provides excellent & vibrant youth work that makes a difference to young people’s lives and produces healthy staff that are equipped and empowered to do the job they love. Therefore, the need to grow our team is quite pressing. We are in search for someone with experience leading youth work and developing a healthy organisation who can help strengthen our work here in very significant ways, with a particular gifting in thinking strategically and working hard to get results.

Job Purpose

Head of Major Gifts, Foundations and Trusts will be a key member of the Team.

This role offers the opportunity to grow and lead a talented team, cultivate transformational gifts, and build a sustainable, high-performing philanthropy programme. The role offers flexibility in how you manage your time and team, giving you the freedom to creatively approach donor stewardship, team development, and pipeline growth.

The foundations are already in place, over the past 3 years our team have established relationships with established and emerging Trusts and Foundations and created a robust set of stewardship journeys for new and existing donors.  We are in the process of launching an inspiring calendar of events from online webinars for mid-level donor conversion and early engagement to tailored thought leadership events and international project engagement. This is an exciting time to lend your philanthropy experience to a high growth area within Habitat for Humanity.

The role leverages the connections, networks, support, proposals/programmes and partnerships from across Habitat for Humanity GB and the Habitat for Humanity International network by working in collaboration, support and shared vision with others. As a member of the Fundraising and Partnerships Team the role will support and enable the development of the whole organisation. Externally, the role develops the profile of HFHGB, bringing in new relationships as well as managing existing, requiring strong oversight of fundraising and delivery.

We’re looking for a proven leader with hands-on experience in securing six and seven-figure gifts, developing high-value pipelines, and inspiring teams. The role is based remotely with frequent travel within the UK, and occasional global travel. 

Key responsibilities include:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Strategic and operational planning and research

• Research and develop plans for fundraising from trusts, foundations, & philanthropists.  Collaborate with CEO, Board, and Development Councils to explore and equip opportunities to extend networks and relationships.
• Partnership working and development: Cultivate, secure and steward funding and relationships for HFHGB from major donors, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. Design and implement a programme of relationship development/stewardship and cultivation events.

Management and Reporting

• Develop oversight and reporting on development and delivery of Major Donor fundraising monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
• Maintaining the database of critical information (pipeline proposals, meetings, grants and donations. 

Leadership, networking and representation

• To develop a culture of support within the organisation. To lift others up and to give voice, agency and equity to all. Contribute to the Development Team, taking the lead on cross-organisational activities.
• Collaborate with the CEO to support/enable them to develop engagement with HFHGB.  Represent HFHGB externally at a senior level, building the organisational profile.

Skills and competencies:

• Extensive knowledge of trusts, foundations and high net worth individual fundraising best practice.
• Proven experience of raising 6 and 7 figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations and High Net Worth Individuals.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans for high value donors/ trusts and foundations.
• A strong track record of overseeing prospect research, pipeline development and delivering growth.
• Extensive experience of producing high quality and compelling donor facing proposals, reports and other materials.
• Experience of fundraising management databases.
• Strong interpersonal and professional network development skills
