Main duties and responsibilities
No two days in our team are the same. We split our time evenly between working flexibly at home and onsite in the office in Bath, as well as being out and about in our community. You will have a varied role which involves managing a wide range of duties and tasks including.
- Proactively building relationships with community groups, schools, local businesses, and individuals across our catchment area.
- Supporting the delivery of fundraising events, from planning through to post-event evaluation.
- Providing excellent supporter care to our community fundraisers and event participants.
- Supporting our community volunteer programme.
- Assisting with marketing, social media, and communications for campaigns and events
- Helping with fundraising campaign and event logistics, materials and administration to keep everything running smoothly
We’re looking for a kind and compassionate person who is passionate about the NHS and making a difference to healthcare for our community. A great communicator and team player. Proactive, organised and creative in problem solving. Previous experience in fundraising, events, customer service, or admin is welcome, but just as important is a can-do attitude and a desire to learn, because this is a great role to start a career in fundraising.

As Healthcare Professional Education & Engagement Lead at Crohn's & Colitis UK, you will be integral in the development of healthcare professional online education and engagement networks in both primary and secondary care. You will also work on a variety of other healthcare professional projects. This is a role that is both fulfilling and challenging and requires travel to healthcare professional conferences. You will be supporting the Health Services Manager and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, all with a view to improving the quality and the standards of health services for all people affected by Crohn's and Colitis.

You will:-
- have experience of supporting the delivery of healthcare professional education and training projects and programmes in a UK wide healthcare context.
- have experience of establishing and maintaining a wide range of stakeholder relationships to ensure the partnerships needed to deliver our projects and programmes.
- be a team player with great written and verbal communication skills.
Our location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. In this role, there is plenty of scope for doing that, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings and the charity meets four times a year in the office at our mandatory 'All Staff Together' days. It is possible therefore you could live almost anywhere in the country. If you want to be considered for the role but are worried about location, talk to us – it may work!

The role
We’re looking for an experienced and values-driven Senior Fundraising Manager to help us grow and diversify our income in support of CSE’s mission.
This is a strategic and hands-on role that will see you lead charitable fundraising activity across trusts and foundations, individual giving and corporate partnerships. You will work closely with the Director of Development & External Affairs to set and deliver ambitious but realistic income targets and identify opportunities that align with our goals.
You will support the development of high-quality, compelling funding proposals in collaboration with our delivery teams. You will also contribute to organisational strategy, refine internal systems and processes, and provide leadership to other development team members.
Who you are
You are a creative and collaborative fundraiser with a strong track record of securing funding and developing projects with social impact. You are comfortable taking ownership, spotting opportunities, and communicating persuasively with funders, colleagues and partners.
You bring strategic thinking, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You enjoy working across teams and disciplines and are committed to building relationships and growing impact.
You will bring:
- Demonstrable experience of securing significant funding from charitable trusts and foundations.
- A broad range of fundraising experience across corporate, statutory and individual giving.
- Experience of writing compelling proposals, tenders and expressions of interest.
- Knowledge of fundraising compliance and best practice, including data protection (GDPR).
- A collaborative mindset and confidence working with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Experience of line management and supporting others to learn and grow.
