The Hospital IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) will be employed by FearFree to develop pathways and processes primarily in Maternity Services and Emergency Department (ED) at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT).  This is a fixed term position until April 2025.

The Hospital IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service embedded within the hospital to ensure all staff are aware of Domestic Abuse (DA) and equipped to ask the right questions and encourage both patients and staff to engage with the support the Hospital IDVA will bring to this environment.

The post holder will assist health practitioners to respond more effectively to domestic abuse, particularly those with complex and multiple needs, and will bring specialist knowledge and skills in empowering clients to seek the right support and move forward.

The work will include providing specialist knowledge and expertise to other health care practitioners to ensure victims of domestic abuse (and their children) are safeguarded from further harm, to provide a strong partnership approach to service provision.

Priority will be given to medium and high-risk cases that are employees and patients of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) – those who do not live in Wiltshire to be sign-posted to specialist support within their local authority area. To work with all victims of abuse that have health related needs in the Wiltshire area.

Key elements of the role include:  

• Providing priority support to both patients and staff at the hospital.
• Delivering Domestic Abuse training to all staff at the hospital equipping them to recognise all forms of Domestic Abuse and ensuring they are confident in starting those conversations.
• Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe through safety planning.
• Enabling victims to access and engage with statutory and other services.
• Engaging with and supporting the MARAC process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.
• Managing a caseload of medium to high-risk victims and working proactively to support them and their families.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with additional services relevant to this field.
• Ensure services and resources are appropriate and tailored to services users needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Hold a caseload and provide high-quality telephone and face to face crisis intervention, information, advocacy, support and signposting to both staff and patients at the hospital who have been identified as victims of Domestic Abuse.
• Proactively assess the needs and risks of clients regularly in line with FearFree policies and procedures, having full regard for case management, MARAC and safeguarding adults and children policies and procedures.
• Complete risk and safety plans for all clients, ensuring risk management and safety is at the heart of everything we do in line with company standards.
• Ensure all records comply with compliance and quality standards and information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
• Engage with all relevant support agencies, acting as the “voice” of both staff and patient victims to seek support to address specific identified barriers.
• Support all caseloads to access external support and sign-post where appropriate to enable caseload to engage with other organisations who can support them on their road to recovery.
• Work proactively to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and upskill all staff within the hospital to be able to identify potential Domestic Abuse, and seek support from the Hospital IDVA.
• Attend regular safeguarding and domestic abuse meetings within the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) and health related settings to discuss active cases as required by the manager.
• Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children of the client and ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed directly with them, having full regard to Safeguarding Children’s policy and complying with the Local Safeguarding Children requirements.
• Advise clients of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, making referrals, attending appointments with them when required, co-ordinating the provision of multi-agency support where necessary, and proactively advocating to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced.
• Proactively look for and implement innovative and creative ways of engaging vulnerable and hard to reach victims, particularly those with multiple needs, and sustain the engagement.
• Participate in multi-agency conferences and meetings in respect of children and adults at risk as required, providing reports and undertaking actions as necessary.
• Work in partnership with key agencies, particularly with Health agencies, to ensure effective joint working.
• At all times protect the safety and security of service users, staff, volunteers and buildings, and the confidentiality of records and other information in line with data protection requirements.
• To be flexible with meeting clients which may involve working outside of normal working hours.
• Produce data, reports, evaluations and undertake research, as requested and directed by the Manager

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.

Working within the children and families team, you will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children.

This exciting new post will predominantly be working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their parents/carers who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children where appropriate and their families, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.

· Enabling the children and their families to access statutory and other services where appropriate.

· Managing a caseload and working proactively to support children, young people and their families.

· To deliver educational, time-bound, 1 to 1 support sessions for children where appropriate and to their parents on the impact of DA on their children

· Provide specialist support through group work provision specifically the You and Me Mum Course to mothers who are victims of domestic abuse and have children aged between 0-5 years.

· To support with the facilitation of the CYP witness group provision alongside the specialist children and young people advisors

· Undertake risk assessments and implement robust safety management plans.

· Give practical and emotional support to children affected by domestic abuse.

· Work closely with multi-agency partners and the wider Wiltshire team to ensure that we maintain a focus on risk management and safeguarding.

· Work with your team and manager to develop early intervention resources.

· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC and MASH process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.

· To build key relationships with the Family Hub specifically the Navigator roles across the county.

In addition, there will be the opportunity to work with the team and manager to develop and deliver new group work provision for young people.

This role will be based in our Trowbridge office, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of low to medium risk children and their parents/carers, predominantly aged between 0-5years through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies.
• Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
• Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, according to agreed procedures.
• Assess the needs of the child and their parent/carer devise appropriate support and safety plans with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.
• Work with colleagues, health and social care professionals and multi-agency networks to evaluate caseload needs and the progress that has been made.
• Work directly and proactively with children and their parent/carers to help them to understand the impact that Domestic Abuse has had on them and/or their children.

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to work alongside mental health team in Bedfordshire. This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 5th July 2025. This is a key role working alongside the ELFT team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to court staff, criminal justice agencies and local partners

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
• A driving license and use of a car as this is a countywide role.

About the role:

This role is based at Lancaster Police Station. This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. As an IDVA working on Operation Provide you will:

• Work with the Police safeguarding team to identify high risk victims of domestic abuse.
• Check internal systems to check if victims are known or open to internal services and liaise with same.
• Conduct joint visits with the police to victims who are at serious risk of harm to provide independent information about their rights and options to enable them to keep safe from harm.
• Assess their needs and develop a bespoke safety and support plan
• Provide information and advocacy around the criminal justice process
• Liaise with internal and external agencies in order to keep the victim safe from harm and address their needs.

You will need:

• IDVA accreditation and/or have considerable relevant experience in supporting victims of domestic abuse
• a comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse & the impact on victims & families
• knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
• an understanding of Safeguarding issues & the legal responsibilities surrounding these
• theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil & criminal justice remedies
• experience of partnership working
• good organisational skills, able to prioritise effectively
• strong crisis management skills, able to deal with difficult situations.
• Good communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal
• IT skills, able to use Microsoft Office & Case Management systems

About the role:

This role is a hybrid working role based in the Housing department, Merton Civic Centre.

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

At FearFree we are proud to deliver services across the Southwest, and we're excited to be expanding our offer, with the introduction of a new Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Service.  We have a full time vacancy (37 hours per week).

As a Support Advisor you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the ETE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Devon. The project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
• Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
• Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
• Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of the ETE sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. We partner with local organisations and communities to deliver our locally rooted programmes, using evidence to drive learning and the refinement and scale up of programmes to create maximum impact for the most children at the lowest cost. We pride ourselves on being willing to go to the world’s toughest places where others won’t, including remote, hard-to-reach areas and fragile, disaster-affected states across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Street Child have helped over 148,000 children and families through education, child protection and food security programming. In 2022, 1 in 10 Community Based Classes in Afghanistan was run by Street Child, reaching over 60,000 Out of School children.

Part 1: Role Purpose:

The Head of Program position, reporting to the Country Director in Afghanistan, is responsible for leading a diverse programme portfolio across multiple provinces and partners in Afghanistan. The primary objectives of this role are to secure additional resources to support our work across the country and lead the design and implementation of Street Child’s programme in Afghanistan. Specifically, the postholder will lead the programmes team (including food security, child protection and education project managers and localisation advisor); lead our partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders; drive our resource mobilization; ensure effective programme implementation; provide strategic technical expertise in Education programming; and provide capacity building to staff and partners as required. Additionally, the Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for external liaison with national and international partners, government officials, and donor community, deputising for the Country Director as required. Ideally, the Senior Programme Manager will have technical expertise in education programming and/or child protection.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

(40%) Programme Management and Coordination:

• Provide matrix management oversight for the successful delivery of projects; including technical input, activity planning and day-to-day liaison with the team and implementing partners to ensure quality implementation within timeframe and budget.
• Provide technical support in areas of own expertise (ideally education programming), including programme development, quality assurance, technical backstopping, and capacity strengthening and coaching for education team and partner staff.
• Lead on the delivery of consortia programmes that CIC are part of.
• Coordinate the identification of partner capacity development needs and the provision of targeted support.
• Ensure all donor, internal and external reporting requirements are met in a timely manner, and are in compliance with donor requirements of project/ program allocation.
• Ensure comprehensive and professional M&E practices are in place.

(40%) Programme Development and Resource Mobilization:

• Provide context analysis on the humanitarian/development context in the country.
• In close coordination with the Regional Representative and Country Director, identify and analyse new funding opportunities in Afghanistan in which Street Child can add value to the humanitarian and development response.
• Develop, implement, and review sector strategies and support the Country Director in identifying strategic opportunities for strengthening Street Child’s work in the country.
• Articulate strategic approaches, partnerships, management/ staffing plans, M&E and budgets.
• Cultivate partnerships, establish links and closely coordinate with relevant government stakeholders, UN agencies, INGO’s, L/NNGO’s, clusters, donors for programme development, including opportunities for consortia.
• Lead the project proposal development (budget, log frame, theory of change etc.) within the framework of the country and global strategy, with support from the programme teams.
• Support Country Director in formalizing a country strategy that aligns with global/regional strategies, priorities and programmes.

(20%) Leadership and Staff Management:

• Managing programme staff including field staff and ensuring direct reports have clear and realistic performance-based management goals
• Ensure that Street Child programme teams comply to Street Child’s security and other relevant operational, financial, logistics, admin, HR, safeguarding, and code of conduct regulations.
• Ensure that any risk to Street Child programming, projects or staff is communicated as soon as possible to and understood by the Country Director.
