About the role

The Access Project is an evidence-based, data driven intervention. Central to our programme are the ways in which we use data to ensure each of our students receives the provision they need, to learn about how we can improve our delivery and to evaluate our impact on our students’ university prospects. We have developed sophisticated monitoring and evaluation systems bringing together data from a variety of sources to track students’ progress (impact management) as well as ascertain their outcomes (impact evaluation). We collect data on our students’ academic and socio-demographic background, their participation on our programme and progress on our bespoke university readiness scales, and their academic results and university destinations. We use this data to intervene in real time when delivery goes off-course but also to understand how The Access Project programmes affect student outcomes and publicize this impact externally.

As part of the Strategy and Impact Team, the Data & Insights Lead will be responsible for ensuring all teams have the right data and to deliver and monitor our programme in a timely and effective way. They will manage, analyse, interpret, and present data and information, most of it recorded on our Salesforce system, to enhance the quality of delivery, maximise the achievement of outcomes by participants and ensure that the project achieves the greatest possible social impact. They will also project manage distinct pieces of work ranging from system optimization to external reporting for impact-related projects and partnerships.

Duties and responsibilities

1) Ensure the efficacy of our monitoring & reporting systems

1. Identifies required changes related to how we collect and manage data in Salesforce so that programme delivery data is available in the right format and at the right frequency to support decision making across teams and allow for accurate reporting.
2. Make recommendations for changes to the Salesforce system in line with this and support the Operations Team with reviewing options.
3. Support other teams to have the confidence and skills to effectively use our monitoring & reporting tools and processes for their specific needs.
4. Identify required improvements to our data processes (e.g. processes for collecting/collating data, for automation, etc), and project manage their implementation.

2) Coordinate the use of data to guide tactical and strategic decision-making on programme delivery and design

1. Define the key questions for our termly performance management meetings and input into the design and content of the dashboards used in these fora.
2. Process and analyse data to derive useful insights about our programme delivery and present your findings effectively to various stakeholders to inform tactical conversations around programme design and delivery.
3. Ensure data is understood and used effectively in decision-making.‘delve deeper’ into programme data to understand trends highlighted by staff, students, and school leaders.schedule performance management meetings at the right time, ensure the right stakeholders are involved, and capture and follow up actions from these meetings as required.

3) Lead other evaluation, research and reporting activities

1. Ensure that student feedback is disseminated, analysed, shared, and used to inform ongoing performance management discussions
2. Lead the data contributions throughout our annual impact evaluation process which may include the preparation of large datasets, as well as analysis and interpretation of data.
3. Drive the monitoring and evaluation of pilot projects, e.g. development of monitoring tools and processes, data analysis, systems development, etc. prepare required datasets for external impact-related reporting. This includes tasks ranging from designing data collection processes, compiling the data, continuously adapting processes, and communicating effectively with all internal stakeholders.

Working alongside CRIN’s Creative Directors and communications team, you will:

The Catalyst Collective is an innovative and rapidly growing non-profit organisation. Since our pilot programme launched in January 2021, we have expanded significantly. As we enter our fourth year of operation, we are seeking an organised and proactive Programme Manager to play a pivotal role in driving our growth and ensuring the successful delivery of our mentoring programmes.

The Programme Manager will work closely with the Programme Director to lead and manage key components of our mentoring programme. This includes building strong relationships with mentors, mentees, and partner schools, as well as coordinating training, enrichment activities, and programme delivery. Mentee Recruitment and Induction

This role will support the delivery of our Impact and Evaluation strategy. This area of our work helps us to understand the impact of our grantmaking and creates and evaluates internal and external datasets to improve our work. Our Impact and Evaluation portfolio includes commissioning and undertaking new research, supporting our aim to publish studies on issues that affect children and young people living in poverty. 

We are a growing charity and our Impact and Evaluation department has a key role to play in the strategic and operational development of the charity as it grows. This role will support the delivery of that aim by working closely with the Impact and Evaluation Manager.

Data Collection: Assist with the collection and storage of research and survey data, including demographic data and outcomes indicators, employing quantitative and qualitative methods. Gather and engage with external open and government datasets.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. Here at One Million Mentors, our aim is to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. We believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion.

This is one of two Regional Manager roles in London; a Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors, and Regional Manager for Programme Delivery.

The Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors focuses on mentor supply, securing sufficient volunteers primarily for London and also for 1MM’s national outreach. It’s the perfect role for a candidate whose passions and strengths align with large scale outreach for volunteers so that no young people on those programmes miss out.

The role is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, in London and nationally. This includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, and oversight of some corporate programmes. Also to consider safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by helping establish over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximising conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Providing ongoing support for key stakeholder partners, including Employers, and maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.

Terms and Conditions: This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.

Remuneration and benefits: Salary bracket of £29,000 per annum plus London Weighting (pro rata), up to 6.5% employer pension contribution and 25 days holiday per year (pro rata).  We also offer monthly team Learning and Development training sessions, and 15 hours volunteering allowance per year.

We are now launching pilot programmes Sierra Leone and as the International Programme Manager, you will manage the launch and delivery of these programmes and be passionate about ensuring young people are given opportunities to learn, earn and thrive.

You will work with various stakeholders, from a mixture of governments, NGOs, corporate partners and employers to support them to deliver safe and impactful programmes to agreed targets. You will report on progress to both internal and external stakeholders, becoming the local partners’ ‘critical friend’ and focal point of contact, and support them in setting up new programmes. This may include delivering programme design, training and producing toolkits and resources, and developing evaluation frameworks. You will work with local partners on all aspects of programme delivery, from project implementation, review, monitoring and evaluation and budget management. 

You will have extensive experience of supporting organisations to deliver safe and impactful programmes, with a good understanding of skills development programmes, especially in relation to employability, entrepreneurship and education. This will be coupled with significant experience of working in Sub-Saharan Africa. Specific experience of working in, Sierra Leone and the ability to communicate in the country’s language, Krio would be advantageous and is highly desirable.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales. 

Central to this is the evaluation team.  The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects. 

Key responsibilities 

The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence. 

Evaluation 

Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will: 

• Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee. 

• Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds. 

• Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation. 

• Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations. 

• Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose. 

• Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance. 

Team management 

The post holder will likely lead the recruitment, management and development of a team of Evaluation Officers and will: 

• Ensure they have the knowledge, skills and support to carry out their work effectively. 

• Provide regular feedback and coaching on written outputs. 

• Supervise and project manage the team’s evaluation work, providing quality assurance and monitoring of progress against project plans and project budgets. 

Collaborative working 

The post holder will contribute to the wider YEF team and will: 

• Be accountable to YEF’s Fund Leadership Team for the delivery of evaluations, making sure they are on time and on budget, including reporting on risks and issues. 

• Work closely with colleagues across YEF and specifically the Programme team. 

• Ensure high-quality evidence is at the heart of all YEF activity and that the evidence we produce is communicated in a clear and accessible way which will drive sustainable change. 

• Support the management of YEF’s panel of evaluators and expert panel. 

General 

The post holder may be involved in other elements of YEF's projects, working with senior colleagues to commission, scope and deliver projects. 

About you 

You are this sort of person: 

• You don't want your days to pass without making a difference. You want to play a significant part in reducing the level of violence involving young people and see the value in an evidence-informed approach.   

• You are an excellent communicator. You can produce technical documents that accurately report methodological and statistical information. You will combine this with experience of communicating complex evidence and analysis in a simple and accessible format to non- experts. 

• You have a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in social science, social policy, public health, health services or other fields, with a significant quantitative component, or relevant experience equivalent to a Masters qualification. 

• You have strong knowledge, experience and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies including the ability to critically appraise the design of a variety of different evaluation designs. 

• You have quantitative analysis skills including experience of using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS. 

• You have significant experience in carrying out or commissioning research including designing all aspects of the research and managing external contractors.  This may be in academia, government or a related sector. 

• You have strong relationship management skills. You are comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners, and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenge when required.

• You bring the best out of your colleagues.  You have experience in leading teams and managing others to achieve amazing results. You can both take and give direction. You are collaborative and a team player, able to build strong relationships across the whole organisation. You are happy to help out when and where it’s needed.

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing illiteracy amongst people in prison?

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons.  We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Belmarsh (subject to contract award). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Belmarsh, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read. 

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings  underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison-based.
